Chapter 101 – Wayne the useless, Wayne the smart.

Alyandrea: “GIVE ME BACK MY TEARS!! GIVE THEM BACK!”

Oliviera: “AAAH!! Mr. Abrams she’s, she’s choking me!”

Ian: “Impossible...impossible. Hahaha...I felt your pulse, it was GONE!”

Brennan: “Me – Me too! It was really gone!”

Alyandrea: “Maybe...that weird light that brought everyone back to life did this to her?”

Brennan: “What, mess her up?”

Ian: “Her PULSE was GONE Alyandrea! It wasn’t there! Then she spoke! Explain that!”

Aly: “Don’t look at ME for an explanation, this whole confusing mess, I can’t do that! I’m just saying, we don’t really know what that white light is! Maybe it had some weird restrictions…!”

Mr. Abrams: “She was just pretending. I can’t confidently say what the pulse issue was about, but I can confirm that after the white light appeared and I rechecked her, she was showing signs of life.”

Leos: “But, But Mr. Abrams, I SAW her! She was smashed in the head! ... Or was it the neck...? I - I don't know.”

Mr. Abrams: “As I mentioned previously, I can’t say for sure what that white light did to her. Try asking her yourself. I still have to fetch your other classmates.”

Ian: “*Glances* So? How did you go from dead, to playing dead?”

Leos: “ Yeah. How? I CLEARLY heard that really loud crack, there’s no fooling me. I also saw you drop to the bush like a limp and lifeless ragdoll. How much exactly do you remember? Because just now, I DEFINITELY don’t think you were faking it. Unless, you have some superpowers that let you hide your pulse...?”

Oliviera: “I...”

Ian: “Huh…? You what? Speak!”

Leos: “Hush. Ian, can’t you tell? She’s trying to remember! Overcoming one’s fear of death, it’s not as easy as you’d think!”

Ian: “I know! I died too! In fact, we ALL died!”

Leos: “...Oh.”

Oliviera: “I….I…I..”

Ian: “Could she really do it?! This is gonna be so great if it works! If we know how she managed to pull off that ‘no-pulse’ mystery...hehe! If it’s something easy, then maybe I can replicate it with my tech the next time there’s an attack. Everybody could just ‘play dead’ by then, and maybe...just maybe we could actually trick them into leaving!”

Leos: “It’s working… she’s doing it! She’s ACTUALLY beginning to recall her moment of deat-!”

Oliviera: “I DIED?!”

Leos: “…”

Ian: “…

Ugh. Why did I even get my hopes up. As always, you’re useless!”

Oliviera: “Wha- I RESENT THAT! How am I any more useless than YOU are against a villain?! Stop talking like you’re above me or something, shortie!”

Ian: “I...At least I was productive! All that YOU did was-”

Ophelia: “Mr. Abrams, Someone ... isn’t someone missing? Were you able to find him?”

Mr. Abrams: “*Puts hand up* Say no more – Say no more Ophelia. I’m finishing up my scan of nearby forestry before I grab him, since his area is completely out of their range...in fact he’s out of everyone’s range, but...well, anyways I’m getting him now.”

Ophelia: “Thanks for clarifying, Mr. Abrams. I really hope he’s safe.”

Oliviera: “What? Huh? Who’s missing – is somebody missing?

.

.

AAAAAHHH! My PRINCE!! Where is my PRINCE??! Ooh--! if those villains so much as BREATHED on him with their disgusting breaths I’ll – I’ll...!

I’ll call my daddy…!”

Ian: “Pffft. And what’s THAT going to change? Last time you said that you would call your ‘daddy’ to report about the dorms and what happened? You were trapped here like the rest of us…! Not to mention how you felt about that fire lady – the one that BROKE the door down. And then again, after telling the others that you’d call your ‘daddy’, I was told that NOTHING changed!”

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Oliviera: “...Are...Are you criticizing...MY DADDY?! How dare you! First off:

*Flashes phone*

SEE?!”

Ian: “I...see a picture of what seems *Squints* to be a letter of sorts. Is that important to our conversation or are you just trying to change topics to avert embarrassment?”

Oliviera: “I – AM – NOT – CHANGING – TOPICS!! THIS letter here, is my daddy’s DEMAND to schedule a meeting with the Board of Trustees...AND their response is a YES! MY daddy has weight around here.

So hmph! Before you go around criticizing someone else’s family...CHECK YOUR FACTS!”

Ian: “It-It’s not THAT b-”

Mr. Abrams: “Calm down, you two. Ian, apologize. What you said just now was uncalled for. You would never want someone saying mean things about YOUR mother and father, would you?(If you would, then I have a bigger reason to worry) If not, then apologize. Right now.”

Ian: “Fine. I’m sorry Oliviera. I was really out of line.”

Oliviera: “...Hmph!”

Mr. Abrams: “...*Glares*….”

Oliviera: “I – I mean I forgive you wonderful Ian, my good friend…! Haha..ha.”

Mr. Abrams: “Good. Oliviera, Elijah is alright. He’s a little further back, in the clearing where Leos came out of. He was the one who came running to me for help, you know. I made him wait with the other two student bodies just in case you all wanted to...well…”

Li Shun: “Well what?”

Mr. Abrams: “In case you wanted to cry, so you could let it all out freely.”

Brennan: “Wha?? I was NOT--!!” See?”

Ian: “Yeah I take that OFFENSIVELY Mr. Abrams! My eyes were just burning from the rubbing alcohol I threw at them!”

Ophelia: “...You were ALL crying…”

Li Shun: “…”

Ian: “…”

Alyandrea: “...”

Elijah: “...Haha. I’m honored, Oliviera. Thank you!”

She turned around, misty eyed. All she could remember upon waking up, was pain. Severe pain in the left side of her neck that traveled up to her brain, and a slight dizzy feeling – coupled together with nausea.

And throughout that pain…

As the chubbette withstood the pounding migraines…

She instead, busied herself imagining what kinds of torture Elijah, without his powers, could POSSIBLY be enduring. Now she could ask how he was faring...! Such thoughts terribly scared her, and fueled her will to survive even greater than ever before.

Although painful, she urged her larger physique to run. To run and not look back.

To run towards that shadowy figure being pulled back into the wooded patch, blocking Non-combatant Classes 1 - A and 2 - B from visiting, or even laying EYES upon Class 3 – C!

Her digits can almost reach him – can almost FEEL him…!

Oliviera: “Oh, Elijah…! ELIJ-”

????: “Oh, Elijah…!”

???: "Hey Elijah, how did the villains look? You’re COVERED in blood!”

??: “How brave. I think I’m in love~ Heehee! Just kidding….A little~”

Elijah: “Wait! As, heheh, FLATTERED as I am at your...confessions and questions...I’m not--”

Oliviera: “...Who…

WHO THE HELL ARE ALL YOU HOES TOUCHIN’ MY PRINCE?!?!”

Elijah: “Oliviera! It’s good to see you’re doing okay! I’m so glad you survived! I really am...”

Oliviera: “Oh Prince Elijah, I-”

??: “...I don’t like your attitude, girl. But...you survived that ordeal right? The other kids are still crying and shaking but you look like you don’t have even a care in the world. Why is that?”

Oliviera: “…Um...I-”

???: “Yeah, yeah – yeah! Why don’t you look even A LITTLE sad?? That’s very...suspicious…”

Oliviera: “I...I still don’t believe I died. I woke up in a bush, so all I know is that I was sleeping in the bush.”

????: “Oh Gods above, this girl is in denial.”

???: ”Totally has to be.

Don’t worry hun! We’ll support you perfectly, the same way we got Elijah to stop beating himself up over his dead friend~”

??: “...We saw your friend grow a head like it was nothing. If you woke up in a bush...Yeah.

Pretty sure that means that you weren’t ‘sleeping’.

..I’m Cass by the way.”

???: “Saphirita~”

????: “I’m Frieda!”

Oliviera: “...I DIDN’T ASK FOR YOUR NAMES! JUST…! JUST, MOVE OUT OF MY WAY AND LET ME SAY HI TO ELIJAH...!!”

Ophelia: “Mr. Abrams, Are you going to bring him back now-”

Mr. Abrams: “Hold your horses. I was just finished checking for villains around the other two classes. With a situation like this underway, I must prioritize everybody’s safety, first. Speaking of…”

*Vwoosh!*

Wayne: “WAAAAAAH...HUFF…...HUFF…..AAAAAH! E---EVIL!!! EEEVVII-”

Mr. Abrams: “Wayne...Wayne! *PA!* WAYNE!!”

Mr. Abrams didn't teleport Wayne directly next to himself. So rather than striking the child personally, he created an energy bunny and had it do the deed.

Wayne: “...Wh—Huh? Where…?”

Mr. Abrams: “Relax. You’re safe now. The villains won’t chase you any more.”

Tears started to flow down from Wayne’s cheeks. Help had arrived. Help had FINALLY arrived! Back then, the boy jumped out of the window and ran with vigorous speed, not caring about anybody who looked or critiqued. Now? He ran the very short distance straight towards Mr. Abrams and hugged him tightly.

Wayne: “I’m – I’m safe….? *Looks around* But...But I’m still...still inside of the forest?! I can’t be safe! AA-”

Rather than waste anymore time speaking, he lifted up his cane, one he grabbed from home before leaving for the forest, and lightly tapped the traumatized Wayne’s forehead. The very moment he’d done so – his forehead began to glow. The light spread throughout his entire cranium, and while it did so, the boy gradually calmed down.

Wayne: “I...I

...Haah. Thank you, Mr. Abrams. Whatever that was, it made me feel a lot better now.”

Mr. Abrams: “That’s great. Wayne, how are you holding up? Your classmate Ophelia was looking for you.”

Ophelia: “…”

Wayne: “Oh, really?! Aw, thank you so much Ophelia! When the Villains came by, I was so scared that I almost thought about hiding! In the end, I opted for running away! It’s FAR better to be safe, than sorry. I mean….hahaha, We’re non-combatants! Who would waste energy risking their life against people we have no chance of defeating?”

Ian: “…”

Li Shun: “…”

Ophelia: “...I….”

Alyandrea: “…”

Brennan: “…”

Wayne: “By the looks of it, everyone had the same idea, huh? Ahahaha! Escape through the windows, and make certain that you just keep running! They can’t get ALL of us! Hahaha! Just let them waste their time in that stupid building alone!”

Ian: "...Shameless prick.”

Alyandrea: “Useless man. Running in the face of danger, abandoning the rest of us...”

Li Shun: “Not cool, Wayne.”

Brennan: “Eh, he was actually pretty smart, considering he’s the only one that didn’t die. Oh wait, Aria also...or did she...?”

Wayne: “Eh? Die? I don’t get...what you’re talking about. Is this some kind of morbid joke..? Haha…

.

.

.

Oh yes! Ophelia! Thank you very much for worrying over my safety…! I’m so glad that you also liv--”

Ophelia: “I’m sorry, but...who are you?”

Wayne: “...Huh?”
