Chapter 34 - School Assembly Part 3

Chapter 34 - School Assembly Part 3

Ian: “Hey...there's no one here.”

Aria: “I-I don't understand?! He TOLD me...the principal told me to come to the library before orientation! I came even before orientation began! I don't ...I don't really know... what-"

Ian: “If I'm right, there should be a reason nobody is here, waiting for you. Are you certain that the principal said to come to the library FIRST THING in the morning?”

Aria: “Umm, he-he said that we were going to discuss some things and for now to come in the morning right before orientation activities begin.”

Ian “...Isn't that the problem?! There's an ASSEMBLY before that! How can we take part in some friendly activities when nobody even knows about our existence?! Without powers we'll get hurt by them!”

Aria: “Aah, there is?! I, I didn't know! Oh gosh, do we still go? Are they all waiting or-”

Noel: "Hey~ Heyy~ Over here! You two!!“

Ian: “...Is he someone that you kno-GAAAH! Who– or- or- or WHAT is that... is that behind him?! Could they be with the stuck-up, rude chick that pushed you??”

Coming out from the extensive shadows which blocked a majority of the hall on their right...were an oddly contrasting pair of tall and short. With brown hair and cold, yet oddly-curious eyes, the boy of average height ran ahead with a practiced, friendly smile. Behind him...

Were a striking set of massive biceps, triceps, quads and pecs all illuminated first out of the dark hall. Finally her head showed itself, but those glaring eyes and the brutish smile screamed danger in both of their brains.

Ian sweated profusely, allowing beads of perspiration to fall into the darkness below that is in fact, his shadow. His clammy hands began to clamp tightly around both backpack straps for support.

Aria as well, got hold of her precious family book and hid it well again, afraid at what the two strangers might do if they found out about it.

Having a young boy short, but not shorter than Ian, running towards you is one thing. However, when a nearly 7 foot swollen-muscled powerhouse comes charging at you with a glaring pair of concentrated pupils that could burn a hole in any man that crossed her the wrong way...

Suffice to say, the bullied pair lost all rational ability to think, and instinctively activated their primal fight or flight modes.

They ran like never before.

Noel: “Ah! HEY! DON'T RUN! Come on Ophelia, faster. We've got to catch up.”

Ophelia: “O-Okay, but ...isn't this bad? We're running in the halls...”

Noel: “I don't know. I've always been home-schooled before this so I couldn't bother to tell you all the rules in here. Besides, there's no one around – and even if they do catch us... They're heroes, right? Then that means we won't die.”

Ophelia: “But... Okay. If you say so, Noel. I'll trust you.

Noel: “Great! Now let's pick up the pace! Sheesh, they act like we're out to kill the-?”

*BOOM!*

With one, single hard step. A lone step that rocked the entire first floor of the non-combatant Wing, also known as Hero High School's 3rd building designed for learning. With that single hard step that crushed through the floor: She instantly appeared behind them with intensity that matched a hungry, starving predator. She had been entrusted with assisting her first friend in many years! There was no way Ophelia would let him down!

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Too bad all of her intensity was mistaken for violent ferocity by Aria and Ian. Her godly burst of strength allowed the Titaness to close the gap in distance between the pursuers and pursuees in a fraction of a second.

The shock was too much for them to bare, causing the poor Aria and Ian to carelessly faint the moment she reached out for them.

Ophelia: “I... caught them.”

She held the now limp and dangling pair in one hand each so that they could be shown to Noel.

Meanwhile, Noel was feeling a little flabbergasted.

{Too strong! She's too damn strong! Jeez her speed was like a bullet... almost. This girl... I need to be wary of her strength.}

Noel: “Well...anyways good work. I dunno why they ran like that, we just want directions to our classroom.”

Ophelia: “Mhm. What should we do? Is there a way to wake them?”

Noel: “...It's not like there isn't, but we're better off letting them rest. I'm no expert, but the methods I know were all used to torture people and keep them from fainting. Come on, let's keep moving while talking.”

Ophelia: “That...sounds really scary. Your background sounds really scary Noel.”

Noel: “What are you talking about..? I'm just an ordinary 12 year old that happens to have skipped a grade due to my intelligence. My background is nothing more than an office worker for a father and a stay at home mom for a mother.”

Ophelia: “...Okay.”

Noel: “If anything YOUR the scary one. What was that dash? You had enough strength in there to put most heroes to shame. I'm impressed.”

Ophelia: “It's...nothing impressive. Please don't focus on that.”

Noel: “...If you say so, but I disagree. It was cool the way you caught up to them. I might try it if I ever get super strength-”

Ophelia: “Hehehe, thanks. I'd rather not be this strong.”

Noel: “No, don't be like that! That powerful dash could help save countless innocent lives. I'm serious! You'd make a really great hero, Ophelia.”

Ophelia: “Hero, huh? I... Hey ...Hey I see something, or someone? I think it's a person, Noel.”

Noel: “...”

Ophelia: “Noel...? What's wrong, you look scary and pale...”

Noel: “...”

Ophelia: “Is it, Is it because of that man at the end of the hal-Ah!”

Noel: “...!”

As if on instinct, just like the two before him, he turned around and ran...except unlike them...he was fast!

Just like Ophelia's starting dash, his foot broke the ground below, propelling himself forward at an inhuman speed!

Ophelia: “...You...”

Unfortunately for him, it wasn't fast enough. A blur passed by her before Ophelia could even realize it enough for her brain to register the unseen presence.

By the time she looked back, the blurry individual at the far end of the hall was gone.

And by the time she turned her head once again in the other direction - Noel had vanished as well. Leaving Ophelia, alone, with two limp, helpless victims dangling over her shoulder.

...

Noel: “Stay away from me!”

Aeron: “Hm~ Hm-Hm~ Noel~ we were all terribly sad when we found out that you had disappeared from your room.”

Noel: “I left a note...”

Aeron: “When? I didn't see father reading any note... Ah, you mean that thing you put inside Mr. betrayal? Yeah... I burned it.”

Noel: “You think I don't know the way you operate against me brother? This time... I one-upped you! That one was just a decoy! I gave the real note to somebody trustworthy and tight-lipped before I put the decoy note on my bed. Father even made me promise him not to reveal any family secrets before I left!”

Aeron: “Someone trustworthy? ...there is no such person in the family. Stop lying, little Ty. Is it that shameful that I always ruin your independent actions? Ahahaha~”

Noel: “I really did!”

Aeron: “Fine, fine~ If you want to put your trust in somebody that'll just use you once again then be my guest. Who was it? Seiran? Angelica? Or Mother Naosuke? They were the three you spent time with the most...I assume you might've bonded a little in that time, but not enough to hide things from me. Oh wait! That's right, there were the other 4 of Seiran's Quintet: Seifan, Seiman, Seigan and Seiyan...nah. Those 4 wouldn't even glance your way unless ordered. They really don't like you haha.”

At first, Noel had taken a huge lead with that extra spring in his step.

Yes, at first.

Succeeding his little brother's actions, Aeron imitated the same controlled movement, putting forth just enough strength in his legs to remain close to his sibling, but not nearly enough to catch him outright.

Playing with Noel was also a form of stress relief for him, since he gets assigned a lot of difficult missions by their parents that require his special gift with persuasion.

However, just before reaching the opposite end of the hall, Noel stopped. This caused Aeron to halt his steps as well.

Noel: “...I knew.”

Aeron: “Hm~? You 'knew'? What does that mean?"

Noel: “Brother~ how long do you think I've had to figure out your reaction to my every freaking move? How many times have I tried to do something, but you were always hanging around: ready to make me do the opposite?”

Aeron: “Haha~ This is a rhetorical question, right? Because I've been doing this with you for about.... well ever since you were born, actually. Whenever you needed something I'd help you get it, but when you WANTED something... hehehe~ Well, now~ That's a different story, isn't it~”
