Mr. Abrams: “…*Opens eyes* Good. It seems that my thought form managed to give my- or ‘our’ report to That ancient geezer. In the meantime, I’ll maintain my senses open to catch first sight of that prepared assault.
I’ve checked on the children, made sure those seriously injured received proper aid and protection, reported back to headquarters, hidden their next dormitory from outside detection, captured the two enemies and brought them with me in order to set the bait, took blood samples of both One and Six, stored them here as bait number two and broke protocol by giving the third Dorm to the kids rather than Dormitory Number 2, just to be safe. Only select individuals know about the third Dorm’s creation, so if these kids are still attacked after tonight, I’ll know who to question. As for Principal Leyman, you’ll need to go on an emergency vacation starting tomorrow. I’ll see to that.
*Clenches fist*
Villains…! Tonight, every last one of you will experience my anger in that Number bastard’s place!!”
…
Ma’am: “What??? Rumors are circulating? What sort of rumors??”
?: “Sir-I-I mean Ma’am! Among the security detail here at Hero High School, there are some whispers regarding this last mission! They say only two children were injured during the assault, but none of them were present to receive the wounded students and confirm if they were truly injured. Thus, iit’s only a rumor…”
Ma’am: “Hmm...though it’s worth checking. Is there any movement among the nurses?”
?: “There is, two groups were deployed, but...they supposedly left to tend to the captured Numbers mercenaries. There is still not enough conclusive evidence to prove any of the non – combatant students were injured during that attack. Maybe...maybe we shouldn’t pay any heed to the rumors…?”
Ma’am: “An entire team of nurses dedicated to one prisoner each? What luxurious treatment…
.
.
Hmmm. Send one of our men to investigate the deployed nurses at once!”
?: “...But….one of the team of nurses was deployed to Security’s headquarters…”
Ma’am: “...Head to the other team, then. For the time being, forget about the nurses stationed with security. I’m not quite ready to destroy them, just yet.”
Somewhere on campus, inside of a dark office with only a single lamp to serve as the room’s lighting, a cruel, cold-blooded older woman discusses various details about tonight’s deadly plot with her subordinates. She receives updates from time to time by their attentive observations and reacts accordingly. Every single contingency plan involving every single Organization or mercenary company tonight has gone through her meticulous planning. After their first attempt failed mysteriously, she has, at long last received word about Mr. Abrams – a.k.a Monitor Man, has entered a conference with Alebard, President of Herotopia and leader of the global organization: Hero Society. It is her only window of opportunity at the moment, to launch a full-scale invasion without security posing a threat. Sure, they’ve stationed more guards again. But just like before; all of them will only become fuel for “her” plan’s success.
…
And the companies take their stations assigned to them by Dark mercenaries, leader of the non - combatant child assault unit.
Darz: “Alright. Our maps have confirmed the second Dormitory building is in fact, in the North-Western forest. Weston! What do our scanners indicate?”
Weston: “...Checking complete. The building is completely empty of adults. Energy signatures too weak to be fully-grown adults have resonated on our device. About 41...no. There are about 43 PINGS in the building. Standing outside the building are two powerful signatures. I suspect them to be-”
Darz: “Mr. Pierce and Mrs. Haldeen… Hmm.”
Weston: “...Yes.”
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
Darz: “Halia! Halia, respond! How are things going outside of the school?”
Halia: “Well, Team 1 moved to completely surround the building. Their goal is to mainly prevent anybody from entering or exiting the campus. Regarding Team two, they’ve begun moving in on the personnel and buildings close to the north-Western forest. The Horticulture labs, Biology labs, Environmental Science laboratories as well as some of the animal ranches, Tree care club’s headquarters, all of them have been gassed and rendered unconscious. In total, 537 humans and 486 animals were discovered and out of them; 537 humans were affected by our gas. Regarding the animals...all but the various breeds of fish had been taken out. That left 94 witnesses, so we-”
Weston: “You killed them?? That’s unnecessary casualties! We could potentially be tracked if somebody with a fish related power comes and examines their-”
Halia: “No. We only covered their fish tanks.”
Weston: “...Oh.”
Darz: “Let her finish, Weston.”
Weston: “...Yes sir.”
Halia: “All that was left were about sixty or so security personnel, but right as we moved in to strike, they all suddenly disappeared. One-by-one the entire security detail’s individual life signatures vanished without a trace. At least, we couldn’t pick up a trace of them anywhere near their previously stationed spots.”
Darz: “Continue.”
Halia: “All witnesses have been officially removed or dealt with, the famed Monitor Man is still being monitored back in Revenice city.
Basically, regarding our different squads:
Team 1 is preventing anybody from entering or leaving the school campus while posing as security. Team two took care of the witnesses, Team 3 has almost completed setting up a barrier around the school grounds to prevent outside forces from detecting anything ‘out of the ordinary’ happening deep inside. Our mercenaries can do whatever we please to the little targets and nobody will be there, to stop us. Even if those two teachers rebel, we have the manpower necessary to kill them, I think. Team 4 is preparing to move in from the Northern entrance. They searched around the forest beforehand with 30 trap drones, while Team 2 put the potential witnesses to sleep. Nothing out of the ordinary was found. Unless the trap only activates by detecting signs of life, we probably have nothing to fear. Just in case, we should take caution. Teams 5 and 6 have circled around to the western and eastern sides of the forest while team 7 cleared out the knockout gas we used and is moving in from the south. Teams 8, 9 and 10 are awaiting your orders on standby.”
Darz: “Good. The teams are performing well. Are there any hiccups we should be worried of, within the coalition of mercenaries? Since each ‘Team’ is made up of various members from every participating Merc organization, except those filthy Spectral Daggers who’ve been assigned a different role… How are they moving around?”
Halia: “Despite our initial worries, the teams all moved enthusiastically, and with fervor. Despite our fears, they are each professionals, and this is a LARGE sum of money being dispersed to everyone. There was even an added rule that those who bring back a head of the non-combatant children will be granted an additional sum as a reward.”
Darz: “...Once again, give me a detailed list of their teams. Be thorough this time, around.”
Halia: “Certainly. AHEM!
Team 1 is comprised of one thousand, two-hundred mercs with abilities well-suited for stalling. Poison smoke bombs, paralyzing strikes, sleeping attacks and mind control are only a few of the more prominent abilities among this detail. They will make sure those pesky outsiders don’t interfere with our plans.
Team 2 is a small offshoot of team one, about 800 total, with another 400 currently moving in to meet up with them. They will eventually equate to a total of One thousand, two-hundred members. We plan to have Team 2 merge with team 4, since they mostly comprise of targeted support and targeted status implication.
Team 3 has about two thousand members. They will be tasked with not only rendering our moves undetectable, but protecting us from attacking forces we didn’t plan for, or expect. They are also unfortunately tasked with working together alongside Team 1 to protect the other forces and stall for time, should the infamous Monitor Man do something unexpected - like come back early. They’re comprised of anti-magic, spacial disruption and spacial distortion powers. They also have quite a few techies with capable protective barriers in their teams, healing specialists, enchanters and enchantresses.
Team 4 has 5,000 members. They are our main fighting force. Each one of them is either a super soldier, or harbors an ability that qualifies them to face off against super soldiers. They each have some level of magic or physical resistance. It’s nigh impossible for an opponent to be capable of differentiating who has which resistance. The team leaders and their elite members each hold some resistance to both, whether innately, as an enchantment cast on their body or as apart of their special suits. Within this company, a few sensory and detection specialists from other Teams were absorbed – for safety reasons.
Teams 5 and 6 both have three thousand, seven hundred soldiers, each. One of them specializes in power nullification, and the other in power amplification. They can both nullify magical or physical powers, and amplify their own as well as their allies’ power respectively. These two teams are assigned to be deployed a few minutes after Team 4, to throw any potential enemies off guard and simultaneously avoid multiple Teams triggering the same trap, in case we missed any.
Team 7 rears up the South entrance with two thousand soldiers to fill up a spot for our miscellaneous Coalition members who don’t quite have any specific role in the other teams, but may prove useful during unexpected situations.
Companies 8, 9 and 10 each contain 400 mercenaries – totaling to 1,200. They will be waiting as reserve forces to back up any of the first 7 Teams, just in case.”
Weston: “Just in case of what…? Isn’t this coalition complete overkill? They’re kids! POWERLESS, weak kids!”
Halia: “In case...In case they were all hiding their strength and turn out to be a bunch of super-soldiers in disguise?”
Weston: “Even then…”
Halia: “...Then, in case…”
Darz: “It’s no big deal. In case the forest or this whole ‘non – combatant project’ that the Hero Society overseeing the school is hiding something, and that ‘something’ is directly responsible for the previously deployed ‘Numbers’ to fail so miserably…we will not be taking any risks. Go! Begin the operation, and bring me their heads!”
