A few days later, Solmeuetzo rested a fist against the side of his head, an unimpressed glint in his three eyes as he tilted his head slightly to the side. A desolate giggle hung in the air weighing down on Solus' psyche as he sat in Solmeuetzo's shrine. The giggling persisted before being momentarily interrupted by Solmeuetzo letting out a restrained exhale, making Solus' frizzled hair/fur wobble in shock, and he ground his fist into his head as he pondered something.
"On an unrelated note, you really shouldn't enter this place in such drastic ways," Solmeuetzo remarked, casting a glance at Solus but more importantly the many puncture holes all over his body.
"To be fair, who could've seen that outcome happening?" Kyoshina remarked playfully as she dropped from above, landing on Solmeuetzo and sitting on his shoulders. Solmeuetzo pressed his face further into his fist, his cheek squishing and bending around his fist, and lowered his head. Kyoshina lowered her head, confusion and intrigue on her face as she wondered what Solmeuetzo was up to.
Without warning, Solmeuetzo swung his head up and clocked Kyoshina in the face, making her freeze before a small trickle of purple-spirited-chakra-textured blood escaped her nose. Kyoshina's eyes went blank, a static fuzz ringing in her ears, before slumping backwards and crashing out on the ground with a dazed and happy grin on her face. Solmeuetzo groaned, his voice laced with annoyance and disappointment as he grabbed Kyoshina with telekinesis and tossed her out of the shrine.
"So, you're mad at me?" Solus asked as he itched one of the many puncture wounds all over his body. Solmeuetzo raised his head, eyeing the tumbling Kyoshina as she barrelled down the hill before he softened his expression to face Solus.
"Of course not, Kyo is simply being herself," Solmeuetzo stated, waving his hand dismissively and catching Kyoshina by the face as she lunged at him. He tightened his grip, eliciting a pained moan from Kyoshina, and slammed Kyoshina into the floor, knocking both the wind and life out of Kyoshina.
As he stared at Kyoshina, Solus raised an eyebrow, confusion covering every inch of his face, and turned his head to confirm his suspicions. Much to his surprise, Solus watched as Kyoshina continued tumbling down the hill, crashing into practically every fixture, until reaching the flat ground and flattening out like a deflated balloon.
"Don't overthink it," Solmeuetzo remarked, before swinging a fist beside his head and backhanding another Kyoshina in the face. The Kyoshina staggered back, her legs wobbling and her tail going stiff before she crumbled into a pile of dust.
Solmeuetzo leaned forward locking his fingers together, closing his eyes as multiple Kyoshinas swarmed him before they encased him like a winter coat, and rested his chin on his fingers. A pale light blue mana sphere escaped Solmeuetzo's royal blue eye at terminal velocity, shooting off to Solus and enveloping him in its energy. The mana dispersed from Solus, restoring his wounds and damaged clothing.
"A word of advice, don't think you can do things the same way you do with Nebula," Solmeuetzo stated, his voice, unusually cold. A chilling shock scrawled up Solus' spine when he felt Solmeuetzo's words become inscribed on his forehead as mini Kyoshinas poked every inch of his face.
"....". Solus remained silent, glancing down and staring at his palms, while his kitsune tails flattened out behind him; he felt a strange sense of shame as he pondered over what led him to his predicament. Solmeuetzo lightly exhaled, running his hand through his hair with an exhausted expression, and shook his body in a futile attempt to remove the Kyoshinas adamantly clinging to him.
"All I'm saying is, given Nebula's unique disposition towards you, it is significantly easier for the two of you to initiate armitization and constructing a spirit weapon...," Solmeuetzo explained as he pried multiple of the mini Kyoshinas off him using telekinesis. With the flick of his wrist, all the mini Kyoshinas exploded into confetti before Solmeuetzo continued, "So, you should keep in mind that Tsarina, and any other spirit, aren't like Nebula.".
Solus closed his eyes, his fingers twitching as a hint of agitation bubbled from within, and huffed aggressively at being told such an obvious fact. He shook his head, shaking his negative emotion out of his mind as he pressed his tails against the floor to push himself to his feet.
Solus turned away and gazed into the distant far reaching sunset as he mulled over his course of actions.
Solus opened his eyes, finding himself lying on the snowy ground with Nebula and Tsarina obscuring the majority of his vision. The two spirits stared down at Solus, a mix of concern and frustration on their faces, and Tsarina poked him in the face.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
"You alive?" Tsarina asked, her face laced with self-directed frustration. Solus rolled his eyes, the spirit duo sighing in relief at his response, and Tsarina's expression softened into a timid smirk.
"Sol-kun, you two should call it a day... otherwise we'll be late for school," Nebula pleaded, her voice firm yet gentle as she nudged Solus to a sitting position. Tsarina huffed, her exhale mimicking a deflating balloon, before she slumped her shoulders.
"As much as I wanna try again, I have to concur, since I don't want you getting hurt again," Tsarina mumbled.
"I suppose you don't wanna push your luck any further, after beating the third time's the charm saying," Lumina, wearing her school uniform, quipped before taking a sip of of soda. At Lumina's remark, Tsarina began to tremble from the building frustration in her body bubbling to the surface.
As she was mid-pout, Tsarina froze, her three prior attempts to create a spirit weapon with Solus playing in her mind.
In her flashback, Tsarina smugly placed her hands on her hips, a playful twirl in her step as she floated in the air. Solus called out to her, snapping Tsarina's attention back to him before she floated over and sat on the bench with Nebula.
Solus rubbed his eyes, a mild sense of annoyance emanating from his being, and sighed. Tsarina jumped to her feet on the bench and playfully offered a hand to Solus in a regal manner, eliciting another roll of the eyes from Solus. Solus raised his hand to Tsarina before focusing his eyes into a serious stare while Tsarina copied his expression, although in a satirising fashion.
The duo's qi and spirit energy swirled out of their hands before culminating together. Nebula watched with interest, her eyes glued to the scene before her, as the two spiritual energies merged into spirit mana. Tsarina cheerfully raised her fists to the air, a smug and cocky smirk on her face, before she patted herself on the back.
In the middle of her self-praise, Solus asked Tsarina to pay attention. Solus' request was immediately followed by the purple/magenta spirit mana collapsing in on itself with a faint whistle. The whistle caught the trios' attention, goading them to move closer as the whistling became quieter and quieter, before violently popping and flinging the trio across the courtyard like ragdolls.
Speeding up her flashback, the following attempts didn't go any better; the second try's explosion was even more violent, even managing to knock the bench over.
The second Tsarina began recalling the third try, she instantly shuddered and cut the flashback short as the image of Solus being skewered by a volley of purple/magenta projectiles.
Tsarina quietly grumbled into Solus' tails while Nebula slept like a baby beside Tsarina, her mouth moving as if she were snoring but with no sound accompanying it. Solus sighed at hearing Tsarina grumble as he wrapped his school uniform's scarf around his neck.
"Perhaps... I'll need to think of a new approach," Solus uttered mentally, stealing a look at Tsarina before placing a hand on his chin and deeply pondering something.
His pondering was cut short as the shouts of Lumina telling him to hurry up pierced through his ears. Solus flicked his ears as Oshi finished getting changed and climbed onto Solus' tails. Solus rose to his feet, pressing his forearms against his neck to click multiple joints, and made his way out of his bedroom.
"About time, if you lot take any longer I'm going to be late," Lumina complained, rapidly tapping her foot against the floor, as Solus rolled his eyes and closed his bedroom door.
"But... doesn't your school place start at ten?" Lola said, pointing to the wall-mounted clock displaying nine o'clock, as she dragged a knocked-out Lumios with Kusana sitting on his back behind her using her kitsune tails. The group watched as Lola dragged Lumios into the kitchen, glancing at each other in confusion as if to confirm they saw the same thing.
"Should... we be concerned?" Camellia asked whilst rubbing her face. Lumina shook her head while sighing in disappointment.
"You worried you'll be next?" Abigail asked, cheekily nudging Camellia in the leg. Camellia nervously shook her head, half-heartedly pleading for Abigail to stop insinuating she was scared of Lola. Lumina's foot tapping began to grow in pace and intensity as she continued to wait with the occasional dark golden lightning sparking out her body. Lumina raised her foot off the ground before slamming it against the floor with a booming thud and startling everyone, even making Metsu bounce from Camellia to the non-startled Solus.
"I will not be missing the breakfast menu at the cafe, so anyone who isn't out the front door in the next five seconds is getting punted like a football," Lumina spoke, her voice unnervingly neutral and callous as a veil of platinum wind formed around her. Everyone, aside from Solus, who Lumina's not-so-subtle threat was directed at froze on the spot, the fear evolving into dread as the platinum wind coiled around them.
Before she could even get past the number five, Camellia, Erinabeth, and Abigail booked it past Lumina and out of the house. Lumina crossed her arms and huffed, mentally counting down to two before glancing at Solus as he remained in place.
"Are you trying to pi....". Lumina paused mid-sentence, her annoyed tone changing tune to a mildly amused one. Lumina placed her hands on her hips and, with a cheeky demeanour, added, "Whoops.". Solus blankly stared forwards, neutrality the only emotion on his face, as a mortified and terrified Oshi and Metsu clung to his head for dear life.
