{"Michael Jackson - Speed Demon" plays in the background, along with motorcycle rumbling noises. A woman screaming WOOOHH! It can be heard, too.}

[Near the fallen bridge to nowhere, California UAC]
Today was the perfect day for a ride with me and the boys. I longed for a moment like this to explore the famous bridge to nowhere. Fortunately, I wasn't riding alone today. My friends Jack and Hector and my minor sister Alice were with me. Alice was the youngest among us, so we took great care of her.
Today's travel should've been a walk in the park as the weather looked nice. Not so much for the heat, but hey, it's mother nature, baby. What are you going to do about it? Enjoy being slowly toasted by the noon sun as you enjoy the arid air hitting your face.
"One-chan, when are we getting there? It's been three hours already." Alice screamed at me as we were around two minutes away. Geez, sometimes I forget she is still childish.
"We are practically there, Alice. Come on." I answer her question while Jack begins to slow down. He was at the front, so when he started to stop, we all did.
"What's wrong, Jack?" Hector asks him as we come to a sudden halt. Jack doesn't seem able to speak, which worries us until he points to a tree line not far away. We all turn around to look at where he is pointing, but we see nothing until Alice screams.
After her scream, we could all see what had taken their interest. There was a dead body hanging from one of the trees. Someone had committed suicide on the side of the road. How dreadful. The body looked highly decomposed, and I covered my little sis's eyes as I tried to get everyone to get moving.
"Jack, how did you even catch it, dude. Ew." Hector said as he turned his motorcycle on, ready to move on. Jack simply did the same after he stopped staring at the body.
"I thought it was an animal, but it didn't move. I'm sorry I couldn't stop looking at it." Jack tapped my sister's helmet as he gave her encouraging words, which seemed to help a lot. I felt she was secretly in love with Jack, but it was none of my business as far as I knew.

So what if Alice loves Jack. She is well over eighteen, and she can deal with it herself. Yet, I couldn't help but feel bad for lil sis as Jack never seemed to catch her suggestions and gestures. Aw, men, they're such literal creatures who have never been able to catch our secret love hints.
We kept moving once Jack calmed my sister down, soon reaching the dreaded "Bridge to nowhere." The bridge was an ancient relic of the past left behind as a human remainder. Nature always beats humanity. No matter how hard you may try to conquer Mother Nature, she will always end up kicking your ass if she wants to.
Being almost three hundred years old, the bridge was in deplorable condition now. The only way one could get across safely was to walk across it. No bikes or heavy cars are allowed. So we all put our kickstands down as we prepared for the hike.
Nothing better than a good hike to strengthen friendships and make some possible love partners come true! Maybe lil sis will finally declare her love to Jack; who knew. We were all excited and prepared to dare the crossing as Jack began to tell one of his many tales.
"You know they never managed to catch the Zodiac killer?" Jack said as he began the crossing. He always liked going first whenever we went somewhere. Maybe that was what my sister liked. I personally found it a little annoying. Like, dude, we know you're badass! Stop showing off for once.
Leave a little cake for the rest of us, ya know? In any case, in dangerous scenarios like these, having him be the test canary was convenient. If he fell and died, then we wouldn't have to. I spoke too soon that day as tragedy prepared a terrible fate for us.
We moved through the edge of the bridge like this. First was Jack then Me followed by Alice and Hector at the back Like I said we took good care of her. Alice was never at the very front or the back. She was always between someone, making us think she was safe until...
{Loud crack behind the narrating voice}
I could only hear the noise for a fraction of a second. It was a loud crack as the falling handrail pulled my right hand slightly over. When I quickly turned around, I couldn't even process what I witnessed. Time seemed to have slowed down as I watched in horror how Hector and my sister fell to their deaths.
It was an accident; the bridge gave up on them at the worst time as they both put too much pressure on the handrail, or I don't know what they did, but they both fell. In her last moments, I saw my sister's hands trying to catch up to mine as if that would ever work.
I stupidly also tried to catch her, but I didn't make it on time. By the time I even reacted, she had already hit the floor and died almost immediately. Her body lay immobile at the bottom of the ravine as blood spurred out of her skull while Jack frantically called 911.
Emergency services quickly arrived, but they were too late. Even if they had been there within seconds, I doubt they could save my sister. I will never forgive myself for her death, which my father is trying to erase nowadays. He never got over it, always trying on ways to bring her consciousness back to life like that was possible. I must end Project 52 for his own good.
