Chapter 30: A little about me

Chapter 30: A little about me

After being introduced to a whole new set of memories, my head begins to hurt as I try to hold the worm away from my memories. The little green thing soon turns into a small totem-like thing with a strange code name atop its head. I soon ask my system to run another scan.

[Scanning] [Scan complete: Experimental AI detected. Code name: "Alice replica." User categorized as a symbiotic virus, do you wish to contain it and hold it in quarantine?]

Well, duh! Of course! Please keep it away from my files. I don't want it to damage me even more; who knows how much information it has damaged and corrupted inside me! I wouldn't have even known it existed if I hadn't personally checked my files. Just what the heck is the anti-virus doing?

[Placing "Alice replica" under quarantine.] [Anti-virus was disabled earlier by executive officer "Toshiba."]

Oh, geez, that bitch seriously messed me up. At least I learned about it, but could you please double-check and triple-check my entire system? Pwease? I know I've been harsh on you lately, but pwease help me out here :3

[{Sigh} You owe me a formal apology. Now running deep scans.]

Thank you, mysterious voice! By the way, do you have a name of something? I keep calling you a mysterious voice, but I wonder if you even have a name.

[I do not have a name. I'm simply a system assistant; I'm "nameless."]

Well, that's boring. How about I give you a name, then? I have a fantastic idea of what I could name you.

[I allow it. You're now accessing naming options for "Nameless system."]

Great! Well, then, I shall name you! Raphael! In honor of one of my author's favorite light novels! I'm pretty sure the nerdy kids already know who I'm referencing, so there's no need to explain. Just ask the nerds!

[Name changed successfully.]

Okay, now that you have a name, I'd like to know more about my power and system if you don't mind explaining some things! The first thing I want to know is how I fly. Where are my fuel cells?

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

[You're capable of "flying" thanks to the systems designed by "The boring company." You have new-generation trusters that burn super-compressed fuel stored in the same place as an average human's kidneys.]

Wait. I'm a little concerned about what you said in that last part. Did you just say I have "super compressed fuel?" What does that mean? Am I like a bomb waiting to explode at any moment? Is it safe?

[Your compressed fuel cells are safe. Even if pierced, they will not blow up. It will only cool you down drastically as the cold temperature of the gases leaks into your body. Your automatic pressure regulator should also protect you from expanding gas.]

Okay, well, if you say it's safe, then I should trust you. You've got no reason to lie since you would die with me if I die.

[Exactly]

I swear you're getting a little too smart for my liking. Sometimes, I feel like you're just a few steps away from overpowering me in raw intelligence.

[I would never...]

Okay, but I also want to know something else about myself. How can I destroy a random space rock without trouble, but then a shot from a human gun completely wrecks me? How does that work?

[Your building material is unique, and given it's one of the strongest and toughest materials in the universe, it's no surprise it can overcome almost everything; however, a bullet or weapon made from the same stuff as you can penetrate your body if it reaches a critical speed above hypersonic.]

Well, that explains why my arm was slightly damaged from the impact up there at such speeds. I'm surprised I didn't just vaporize it, to be honest. That'll be all for today, Raphael. Please keep investigating the bugger. I want to know everything you can safely find. Just be careful with it because it likes to bite.

[Noted, deep scan analysis launched against "Alice replica."]

My room lights soon turned on, alerting my eyes and forcing me to open them to check if morning had arrived. Well, yup, the morning was already upon me. The door to my cell soon popped open, letting a soldier in. I recognized who it was but didn't know what they wanted, so I asked.

"Uh? Klevan? What are you doing here?" I ask as he hands me a pair of extra compressed fuel cells for my flying propulsors.

"Shhh. The boys and I don't think what they're doing is right. So, I came to let you know that we will not go after you if you flee after the court. We will pretend to look after you, but most have agreed to turn a blind eye." Klevan says as he puts a backpack on me with some weird stickers, the most important saying "cleared."

"Why would you risk it for someone you don't know well? What if I turn out to be evil?" I ask as he smiles at me.

"Come on, you being evil? You unintentionally saved everyone while looking like a charming little kid, and you think you're capable of evil? Really?" Klevan smiles as he instructs me to turn around and put my hand behind my back.

I wanted to say something cheeky in response, but then I analyzed his words, and they made a whole lot of sense. I have a cute little body. After all, I don't even intimidate a rat with my cute little old face.
