[Red's POV]
A layer of projectile was blaster to my face in an instant, and before I could react to it, they exploded like a how a rocket launcher, sending me flying a few feet closer to the vampire named Vone.
He started laughing maniacally and said these words:
"I hope you understand. I'm not the one trapped here with you. YOU are trapped here with me, HAHAHAHAH."
Those were sentences that normally came from light novels or comics. So, to hear it in real life, honestly, it gave me one of the biggest second-hand embarrassed moments so far.
If anyone walked in on me, I would need to bury my head into the ground so that they couldn't associate me with whoever said it.
Even Ryong agreed as he uttered:
[Does he feel no shame?]
Vone proceeds to laugh maniacally while he unsheathed his sword once again, walking towards me.
"Although I'm not as well-versed in the department of magic compared to some of the other noble ranked true blood, I am rather proficient with the sword."
Ba-thump!
My heart started beating loudly as what appeared to be the end of the road for me lies ahead.
Vone continued throwing a jab me while I was still down in hopes that I would give in to the rage and rushed towards him aimlessly.
Digging Fang into the ground, I desperately held myself up forcefully with the rest of my strength, making a final stance to fight the bastard. Even just by standing up, my entire body felt like it was about it shut down at any time. So, how am I supposed to hold a sword?
Vone immediately took no time, making use of my weakness to his advantage. He flew right straight for me, welding his sword and swung his blade right at my neck. I was able to briefly avoid the fatal blow barely, with the tip of the sword scratching my throat, making a small cut.
[Move your feet, thou almost die.]
'I got it, I got it.'
Widening my eyes, I basically forced myself to be more attentive to any situation while not craving under pressure against the heavy bloodlust emitting from his attacks.
Then, the pop-up appears from the corner of my vision again.
**
[Killer Instinct Active]
*Condition Met*
- New Skill Achieved -
[Can't touch this] Lv. 1 *New*
With the constant combined usage of [Killer Instinct] and [Indepth Perception], this allowed a new skill to be born.
Any attack launched with bloodlust imbued will leave a tracing line. How the user uses this to your advantage is up to you.
Can't touch this du du du du~
**
"Huh? What th___"
[Another Skill?!]
As the sudden emergence of the skill appeared, I quickly stepped backwards, leaving a huge gap between us again.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"Where do you think you are looking AT?" Vone yelled, thrusting his sword forward with fierce furiousity.
Just then, a red dot appears, and as his entire body moves forward, slowly the red dot shifts, leaving a dash as more and more appear, creating a line. More accurate, a tracing line.
I barely escaped, just for Vone to change trajectory mid-flight and bounced off to me. The line then shifted, this time towards me but exactly the same as how it was shown earlier on.
"!"
They were in the same pattern and line as well.
Oh. I see how it works now.
These traces of line are where the attacks' last position will be placed. Should I try experimenting it?
Vone was relentless, unleashing a wave of slash and strikes towards me, I was able to avoid most of it due to where the dot and trace line were. If there was a line, I could simply just crouch and dodge it completely.
Vone's pale face turned redder by the minute due to multiple unsuccessful attempts of trying to stab me with the sword. He also started saying some stuff, which I think were profanity and curses towards.
However, while I was dodging, all I could hear in my mind was the tune of the popular 90s song, "Can't touch this."
Because of those tracing lines, I managed to stall enough time to recover while making a fool out of Vone and making him exhausted.
What if I placed my sword on the line, then? To test this theory, I placed my sword directly on the line, which ended up with Vone's sword clashing with mine.
Without tearing my eyes away from the tracing line, I continued tracking every move Vone made, on top of the one that did not have any killing intent behind it.
His sword collided with mine once again, as each blow Vone made started becoming less violent and furious.
With one huge wide swing made by Vone, I avoided it by leaning backwards and followed up [Roundhouse Kick] right to the solar plexus.
The attack ended up him flying to the thunder cage. His back then landed on the lightning, electrocuting him in the process.
Kacheong!
With the final blow from the thunder cage, the remaining magic left in the spell was all injected straight into Vone, making the damage inflicted by the spell a lot more than before, causing the thunder cage to collapse.
But Vone wasn't done.
The unique trait of being a vampire was that they have high regenerative abilities, and on top of that, he was a true blood, making his healing abilities superior.
"You f*cking son of a bitch. Did you have enough fun yet?"
In an instance, his body, which was torn and shreded, was now clean and healed.
He recovered from his injuries already.
I grabbed Fang and held him low, and restarted the sword dance. But before I could even start the sequence, Vone was beside me.
His nails were drenched with blood as he proceeded to lick them.
"Sweet."
My body turned cold out of nowhere. Only the liver part of my body was warm. I reached my hand below to confirm my suspicion.
I was bleeding. Looks like he got me.
I grabbed my body while muttering the words [Recover].
My body got better, but something was wrong.
The bleeding wouldn't stop.
'What... is this?'
"Looks like you are wondering why can't you heal, huh?"
Vone suddenly spoke as he tears his eyes away from my blood and locked in his gaze with my eyes.
"It's called Grievous Wound. I have a special ability where anything attacks struck by my hand will not be able to heal. As long as I'm alive, you can never recover."
That explains why it still hurts like hell, huh. Blood was still dripping out of my body profusely as I struggled to even stand up. My visions were starting to blur up as blood started filling in my mouth.
[Red?! Stay conscious. If not, thou are dead. Wake up!!]
Cough!
Looks like the wound was deep as well.
"Enough talking. Let's end this so I can go back and sleep."
He slowly approached me with his claws protruding on one hand and another hand holding on to his sword.
As he raised his hand, he was about to end the battle with one slash. Suddenly, he was sent flying as something blunt struck his entire body.
It was big, yet it was moving at an extremely fast speed, sliding through the ground.
Sliding through the ground?
The creature then turned towards me, placing its head towards my hand. Another creature then landed his entire body at the top of my head, nuzzling its beak against my cheek
Looks like my backup is here.
White slithered around me, forming a protective barrier using her own body while Silver's body glowed up as suddenly a round-shaped barrier covering a huge diameter of the cemetery.
"Wha___"
[When did he learn how to cast magic?]
"WRAUGGH"
Screaming through the rubble, Vone emerged from within it, this time more pissed than ever.
"Having your pets won't help you." He proclaimed as he started floating once again, this time cutting his arm and allowing the blood to spew.
[Blood Dagger]
Armament Spell
Daggers summoned from the usage of blood. Hovers around the users head, which can be used as an offensive and defensive maneuver. The number of daggers depends on the blood quantity and how strong the daggers are depending on the quality of blood.
Magic Requirement: Blood Magic Unlocked
Magic Consumption: None
The moment I saw these daggers, I immediately laughed a little.
The magic here really is similar to the one my student uses. The one who helped that student to develop that magic was these two. Because of that, they weren't afraid of the floating daggers.
"DIE YOU FILTHY ANIMAL!!"
The daggers started flying at an extreme speed for both White and Silver, but because they were so used to how this spell works, there was no issue avoiding, blocking, and even counter-attacking it.
Flapping his wind with mighty strength, some of the daggers were blown away and actually sent back to Vone himself.
Vone who was able to see this coming parried the daggers with his sword, only for White to disappeared.
As Silver was the only one in sight, he casted [Blood Arrow] once again, aiming it at him.
However, as he tried to raise his arm, it did not listen to him.
"Wha___"
Looking below, he saw a little jaded white-scaled snake biting him exactly where Red was struck previously. Where his liver was.
"KUHH??!"
It was at this point where yellowish-black liquid was flowing through Vone's vein and spreading throughout Vone's body at a fast rate. Half of Vone's body was already affected by whatever it was.
[Look's like he was poisoned.]
'Poisoned?'
[White might look like a snake, but ultimately, she is an imoogi. One of the deadliest monsters out there. One drop of her poisonous venom is set to kill a human instantly.]
'...And since Vone is a being with unlimited regenerative power, having a poison that continuous kills whatever is in his system...'
[It will, of course, stop his regenerative abilities.]
'Basically, he's in the same state as me, huh'
[Yeap.]
With both White and Silver retreating beside me, Vone stood there, still trying to move his body.
Looks like it's my turn to end this.
Forcing myself to stand up.
I unequipped Fang and equipped another weapon, slamming one of the other end of the weapon on the ground.
Using my hand to provoke Vone, I signalled to him to come get me while jeering it even more.
There, I spoke for the very first time since meeting him.
"Time to end this little bitch."
