The Shinto Gods

**

The man took another step forward and observed Ryong, who was possessing Red at the time, and the mask that he was wearing.

"Hmmm, this is a rather unique mask as you said, Uzume-sama."

Ryong realizing what was happening Immediately healed Red's leg with his Mana and returned the body to the original owners.

Red's consciousness was dragged back as he could slowly move his arm and legs now. More so than ever since the wound that he received in his legs is starting to hurt even with [Recovey] being active.

Then another notification appeared again.

[*Message from Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto*]

[Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto]:

[Reinforcement is here ;)]

After looking at the message, Red chuckled softly underneath the mask.

The man proceeds to pull his sword out from the skull of the large beast while he jumped down, landing on the ground.

"What kind of sword is that?"

The sword itself wasn't as long as the Katana, it was roughly around 35-40cm instead. The blade itself looked similar to a katana with one small difference which was that it had another blade protruding out which end up looking like a rhinoceros battle.

[The Kabutowari, a side arm of the samurai. In the past, it was also named the Helmet Splitter.]

The man then swept the blood off the blade and proceeded to keep the Kabutowari back in its scabbard.

The blood-curdling scream continued as the Fox starts shape-shifting rapidly to recover her stab wounds. However, due to the wound being more severe than she thought, it was deformed causing the transformation to look more demonic.

More reinforcement came in as Omnyouji, Buddhist Monks and awakeners throughout came to subdue the Tamamo-no-Mae and put an end to her reign.

[Red's POV]

Even though the wounds in my legs had recovered due to Ryong's magic, I still hardly had enough strength to even stand by myself. Among the crowd of people that came, Sasaki came and supported me when I almost fall.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

"Thanks for the help," I said to her while lifting my mask partially so she could hear me speak

"No, thank you for saving us first___," She said smiling before continuing, "___even though you caused me so many troubles for the past few days."

"Hahaha, I'll make it up to you."

Appearing from the midst of the crowd, a man in black dashed toward the Nine-Tailed Fox at an incredible speed. His sword was imbued with a sort of energy that felt like Aura but it wasn't. Pouring all that energy into his sword, he drove the sword forward with all his strength, hoping to kill the Fox once and for all.

It would have succeeded if it wasn't for one figure, stopping the guy's weapon with a bigger sword.

It was the dude that saved my life. He held a sword that looked similar to a Katan but the size of a greatsword.

[It's an Odachi.]

Sasaki suddenly interrupted again, "That man is the first champion of Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, Nakamura Yuuma. He's one of the strongest champions in Japan as of now."

She's not wrong. Whenever I read Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto's message, it had the same vibe as how that guy acted.

With the Odachi unscathed, Nakamura Yuuma with his back straight, struck vertically right. It landed directly at the man in black clothing's sword. His sword changed direction and stabbed the ground, creating a mini explosion.

Tilting my head to have a closer look, it was Lee Jeong-Hun who attempted to kill the Tamamo-no-Mae while everyone was distracted.

With his sword stuck to the ground and Nakamura's Odachi placing weight on it, the sword simply wouldn't budge. Nakamura leans his head forward and spoke.

"You may be Rank 1 of the awakeners. But don't forget, most of the strongest fighters chose to hide. Including me."

Lee Jeong-Hun paused and stop struggling. He then laughed maniacally and immediately faced Nakamura and the crowd behind.

"There's a reason why I self-proclaimed my rank and showed myself openly."

Finishing that sentence, his sword suddenly disappeared as his weapon changed into that of a twin dagger.

"Hey, that's_____"

Immediately the Odachi which was clashing against a sword earlier on suddenly collapsed on the ground, while Lee Jeong-Hun already dashed ahead to his target aiming for her neck.

Just then, multiple lightning strikes exactly where Tamamo-no-Mae was standing.

"Enough."

Out of nowhere, 3 different Katana blades was surrounding Lee Jeong-Hun's neck in a triangle formation. Any movement done with the head would have meant immediate beheading.

The blade that was directly right below the neck of Lee Jeong-Hun was held by a girl.

The girl gave Lee Jeong-Hun a cold-eyed stare with seemingly no expression. She looked like someone who was at the age of 17-18, with black hair that was tied messily. She would be what some people call a cool beauty especially with her sharp gaze and fierce vibe. She was dressed in a rather casual outfit with layers of armor on.

"The Shinto Gods would not tolerate any more disrespect you have for them." The girl warned as she puts more pressure on her blade, causing Lee Jeong-Hun's neck to bleed a little.

At this point, Sasaki automatically already starts explaining who these people are. I swear that lady is too nice. She might as well be the info guide to this messy world.

The lady in front is the most important awakener in this country. The Champion of Amaterasu Omikami. Kamiyami Haru.

The others holding the sword were the Champions of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto and Susanoo-no-Mikoto.

The Champion of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was a man roughly the same age as me. He was tall, ranging around 180 to 190 cm. He had black hair tied around a ponytail. He came across as someone who is calm and stoic but also strong.

His name is Kinoshita Seiji.

The Champion of Susanoo-no-Mikoto on the other hand was a guy maybe slightly older at 28 to 30s. He had very messy hair and was in a sort of Kimono. He seemed a bit lazy however, I could tell. He was the strongest among the three. His name is Otani Katsu.

These were the Champions of the 3 major gods in the Shinto Religion and Lee Jeong-Hun has manage to make an enemy out of everyone he meets. Maybe he has a talent in pissing people off.

"This is as far as you go. The Tamamo-no-Mae is now under the Shinto God's jurisdiction. Anyone who tries to kill it will be dealt with, permanently."

As Kamiyami said, the rest of the Taoist Priests and the Shinto Religion practitioners all bowed down to show respect to their gods and goddesses as well as to their Champions.

Everyone except me and a couple of people.

Just then, a spear struck the ground where Kamiyami was standing.

"No. That Fox belongs to us instead."

Appearing from the skies were more people, all floating up in the sky. The person I assume is the leader of this group, smiling.

"Crap."

"What's with you," I asked Sasaki.

Kazue who was standing behind us replied,

"The Chinese Mythology are here."
