History of Mundi magicae (1)

History of Mundi magicae (1)

**

As the mysterious train soars through the sky, dragging our protagonist across the continent. The purple robe mage. Irene conducted a little history lesson, giving Red insight and details about how his world differed from hers.

While the time period of Mundi magicae's creation is generally unknown, it was believed that the original timeline of the world is the same for both of these worlds. The most pivotal being the asteroid wrecking the earth and destroying all lifeforms on earth.

However, it was believed that this was where the creation of mana separated both worlds, completely diverging them, similar to how a mirror shows two sides of a picture. However, from there the evolution would evolve differently compared to how it was for Earth, due to the most important aspect that separated the both of them. Mana. Names were given to separate both worlds. Mundi magicae, the world of magic, and magicis Mundi, the magicless world.

Mana, a new energy source was present around the world that was split apart from its former self. Under this great energy, everything and anything in the once barren caused by the asteroid was changing intuitively. Creatures that managed to survive evolved differently compared to what is normally on earth. For example, the reptiles that survived evolved into crocodiles, alligators, snakes, and lizards in the non-magic world, while in Mundi magicae, the reptiles that survived, learned to harness the new energy in its atmosphere and forced themselves to evolve to what others would call dragons now.

Because of this countless different creatures that live in Mundi magicae could not be found on Magicis Mundi. Some of the creatures are not even able to survive in Magicis Mundi due to the lack of mana flow in the atmosphere. Though there have been sightings of the different creatures that managed to survive in magicis Mundi with no issue.

The boundaries have always been strong between the two different worlds for centuries. No matter would cross over the boundaries of the 2 different worlds and it has remained so. Until humanity appear that is.

A woman in her 20s stumbled upon an unknown village located in Switzerland in the 1450s. She was in peculiar clothing that was similar to that of scholars. With green robes wrapped around her, she spoke in a different tongue signaling for help but none of the towns folk could understand her.

However, an elderly couple took pity on her and accepted her as part of their family. As time passed, the woman began to understand the language spoken here and was able to live and cope well with the rest of the town folks.

The woman would often tell tales of fantasy of mythical creatures and adventure to her fellow villager. The children in particular would often be enticed by tales. Some of the adults in the village deemed the woman suspicious due to how detailed some of the stories were. However, stories were just stories, right?

Well not in this case.

There was a boy who was particularly entranced by the stories the woman spoke to the point where he would visit her every day. He loved the world that was described by the lady and had always to be part of something big. It was his dream. The woman would always make time for him no matter how unreasonable he was at times as she told him, he often reminded her of her own brother.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

But on one of the particular days, when the boy was visiting her, he wanted to give her a scare by creeping behind her. While he slowly makes his way to the back of the woman, he caught sight of the woman doing something magical.

Flames were appearing out of nowhere from within the woman's hands and they were floating in mid-air. The boy was certainly surprised but he wasn't scared. Instead, he was excited. Excited by the fact that the stories that the woman spoke have all been true after all.

The boy ran all the way to his parents excitedly and told them what happened, explaining in a detailed description what the woman was doing. However, his parent's reactions are different from what he had in mind. His parent showed a face of terror and disgust the more detail he provide. He felt something was wrong when his parent stayed silent after he finished speaking but he did not dare to ask what they had in mind. It was at this point that the Father stood up from his seat. He grabbed a couple of ropes from within the homes and tied his own son up while dragging him to the village chief's home while the boy's mother crying profusely yet not able to do anything. The boy had never seen his loving father this angry. He was confused and lost. What has he done to get treated like this? As the boy reached the village chief's home, he was forced to explain in great detail what he saw.

He didn't know what was wrong. All he wanted to prove was that magic was real.

In the next couple of days, he was tied against a tree stump forced to wait there idly, and forced to starve as punishment.

One day, something was different. A group of men in armor appeared along with a man dressed in white. He could tell those were soldiers but he still didn't know the identity of the man in white. The man was dressed in clothing that only a commoner would dream of having while holding onto a thick book along with a cross.

From there, he ordered the boy's father something. The boy's father did as he was told and went off rounding up all the men in the village as they stomp off in the direction of the woman's house. As he was stuck there, loud shrieks can be heard from the direction of the woman's home. At the same sight, the woman was dragged across the ground by 4 different men, and her body was dragged across the ground with only a rope tied around her wrist. Her beautiful face was also beaten to a bloody pulp.

From there, the man in white started chanting. The rest of the village all gathered around them to see what was happening. While the man was speaking, he started splashing water all over the boy's face while the men of the village dragged the woman, pinning her to a pile of wood from the bottom.

Due to the punishment that the boy received, he couldn't really concentrate on what was happening around him due to starvation. But one thing was certain. The woman was screaming the words: SPARE THE BOY, HE HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING.

As the crowd began getting heated up, the man in white walked up towards the woman and spat on her before saying a few words. From there, she was tied against a stake which was dragged facing upwards. The crowd started jeering and cursing at the woman for her demise. The boy struggled to open his eyes and tried to stay focused but he was starved for 4 days with no food and drink. The last image that he saw before blacking out was the woman smiling at him before a torch was thrown at the ground. As he blacked out, what followed was a blood-shrieking scream that would haunt him for the rest of his life.

Thus, this was known to be the era of Witch Hunt.

So what happened to the boy?

While he was experiencing such a traumatic experience, something in him awakened. As he was dragged away by the man in white and his soldiers.

In his body, he began to feel hot just like how the woman previously described to him how mana works in the human body. Taking her advice, he gathered all the heat into one part of his body, his heart, and releases all that energy through his hand as he thought that he would be able to use this strength to save the woman. However as he released that huge wave of energy, something cracked.

As if it was a hole, there were cracks formed on the ground out of nowhere, This caused the villager to startle by the sudden appearance of a hole. Some of the villagers started screaming in fear of the unknown while the boy's parents stood still and started shaking in fear of whatever their son just did.

Still groggy from the punishment, he dragged himself from the ground to the hole, while the man in white clothing was shouting "He's one of them! GET HIM!!"

However, they were too late, the boy had already passed through the hole.

And the next sight he saw would be a flying carriage in the sky as he opens his eyes.
