"You aren't a human at all! You are a specter!"
Anon was floating in the sky. His blindfold had disappeared and his eyes were closed. His eyebrows had turned white. His hair was half white, half black.
He muttered to himself...
"How interesting. I can feel that my soul has changed."
Anon couldn't see his soul. But he felt ALL the seals vanish! His 'concentration', 'true vision', 'extraordinary sense', and 'deification' were gone!
"It seems like I have two different souls..."
Anon noticed something incredible from this however.
"My anima reservoir is at 100%!?"
Anon had used some animaxiom during his battle and was close to 50%. It was mainly used when teleporting. There were a few restrictions to using the animaxiom in his body.
He could really only use his 'anima manipulator' and 'anima revive' with the energy stored in his body. But now Anon felt like he had clearly grasped multiple applications of it. Things he couldn't do before... He could now do!
He felt that he could use the animaxiom stored in his body to directly teleport now! Such an action would've been hard in the past. But he had grasped it now!
With the million capacity of animaxiom in his base form. He could actually teleport quite a distance now. But he still hadn't figured out how to use it with his 'anima leap'.
Anon noticed another problem right away.
His body had essentially swapped out with his soul. His current body had ZERO animaxiom stored within. But this body was even more weird then his deified body. It lacked both a brain and any organs.
There wasn't even any blood.
So he couldn't store animaxiom in his body in this state. He also noticed that his animaxiom was slowly draining from being in this state!
"Hopefully it can recover when I am in my base state..."
Xaervist shouted at Anon.
"You DARE IGNORE ME!!!"
Bone spikes shot at Anon in the sky. But they passed through him as if he didn't exist. Anon continued to ignore them as he focused on his abilities.
"Flight..."
"A state of superposition..."
"I wonder..."
Anon pointed a finger and started to charge up a ball of animaxiom.
"I would've struggled to do this type of range attack in my base form. It seems that my control over my body has increased from 99% to 100%! I have broken past that previous barrier."
In the past. Anon had sent out slices of his animaxiom. But this was on a different level then creating a stable ball of energy! It was as if he had created a small sun in his hand. There was a clear difference between his axiom state in the past and now.
While he felt his animaxiom draining. He could feel that he was using it quite efficiently! A level of efficiency so far removed from the past.
But Anon felt he still hadn't mastered this form and was just beginning to learn some of its secrets.
He held out both of his hands on the miniature sun in his hand. He then directed the plasma at Xaervist. He sent out a beam attack and the lich was completely overwhelmed.
It's last words were:
"You will never kill me! I am immortal!!!" Xaervist had a phylactery stored in a secret location. He could revive with time! But his foundation would be destroyed. He would need to build everything up again...
The Lich was vaporized!
Anon slowly floated to the edge of the pit and sighed. The transformation dispersed and he felt his powerful body again full of animaxiom.
He could feel another sense added to his soul.
He could feel his 'axiom state' anima reservoir recovering!
Stolen novel; please report.
"It is interesting that I have essentially 14 soul relics. But the fact that my axiom state lacks my seals is a bit of a problem..."
Anon could feel his seals had returned with the switch from his soul.
His blindfold had also reappeared!
His hair was black again.
He walked to the caravan. They had seen the explosion. Arah couldn't help but ask what all that was.
"When dancing on the edge of life and death. I awakened another ability!"
"..."
They hadn't seen the entire battle due to the fog. But the explosion dispersed all the fog in the entire forest. They saw the pit from the explosion.
"How many abilities do you have!?"
Anon laughed.
"Who knows? Not even I do!"
Soon the caravan traveled through the fog forest quite easily. They didn't encounter any creatures. This surprised the entire caravan.
"Is this your passive ability 'heavens luck'?"
"Indeed." Anon lied again. He had wiped out the entire undead legion. Who would dare appear? This forest would no longer be a gathering or base for that undead lich.
All the stock besides the legend type creature remains had been sold off. So they didn't stop at any other villages besides trading for food every now and then.
Eventually. They arrived at the capital. This city had a tall wall surrounding it completely. There were multiple entrances and people and carriages were lined up.
"Who are you and what business do you have?"
"I am Arah Vasallus! I am here under orders of the king and the Vasallus family. I am to present a gift for the Aldways birthday ball."
"I see..."
The caravan was checked for forbidden magic objects. The guard then found something weird.
"Are these creature products from a legend type creature?"
"Indeed. We got a bit unlucky and encountered a doppleganger..."
"You survived? Who beat it?"
Arah looked at Anon and watched him nod.
"One of my guards!"
The guard rubbed his fingers asking indirectly for money to keep this 'secret'. Arah was used to such things happening and gave him a bag of copper coins.
"Everything seems to be in order."
"Remember the rules. No wandering at night."
"No fighting within the city walls, outside of the arena..."
"You would usually need a permit to bring such a large caravan. But since you are a merchant family. I'll allow you to pass. Make sure to go to the registration office to get passes."
"Otherwise. You will get kicked out!"
Soon the caravan passed through this checkpoint.
"Let's go register!" Arah spoke.
Anon followed Arah. He was unfamiliar with the layout of the city either way. Soon they reached the registration office.
"What is your name?"
"Anon."
Anon had learned from his conversations with Arah. That most people lacked a family name. Unless you were from a wealthy family. Arah had told him he had never heard of the 'Amos' family. So in order to blend in. Anon didn't use his full name. Some people even lacked names entirely! Though, those were mostly orphans and their nicknames became their real names.
"What level of pass do you want to buy?"
"Level of pass?"
"You have weekly, monthly, or yearly."
"50 coppers for a weekly pass."
"2 silver for a monthly pass."
"24 silver for a yearly pass."
Anon had no money on him besides the silver coin Arah had given him. He had put that in his storage space.
Arah then shouted:
"Wait! He is a potentia born! According to the laws. He can get a unlimited pass!"
Arah wasn't rich enough to buy a monthly pass for all his guards and workers. So he planned to only buy a few passes for core guards and have the rest of the caravan set up stalls outside.
But everything changed with a potentia born! They were above the rules in some cases. Potentia born could even bring in their subordinates for free! This would save Arah a lot of money.
The clerk at the registration desk opened her eyes wide in shock. Those with classes were actually fairly rare. Unless you were from a wealthy family or at an academy.
It was a rarity to run into them.
"I am sorry for the inconvenience sir! What is your class?"
"Demigod."
"...A unique class!?"
The woman's breathing slowed down.
"Sir. If you are lying. You will be sent to prison..."
"Are you really a 'demigod'?"
Anon's face lacked a expression.
Arah then told them to test him.
"A potentia stone is worth more then gold! We can't just test people who could be lying!"
Anon then interjected.
"Why not just show my ability for proof?"
The woman nodded. This made more sense then wasting a precious resource.
Anon took a knife from one of the guards and cut his wrist again. Golden blood flowed out. But then it healed in a instant.
"I assume this is enough proof?"
The women nodded and opened up a drawer with a key.
"Here is your unlimited pass!"
She looked at the group of people besides him and told them that as long as they were his 'subordinates'. They could stay at his home.
One of the benefits of being a 'potentia born' was the ability to rent a house! This was the capital of The Ignis Empire. This is where the king and his kin stayed at.
It was also the location of one of the mage academies. The city was massive and had people from wall walks of life. But those born in this city didn't have to pay anything to stay!
Despite this. It was quite crowded, which is why you had to have passes if you were a foreigner. This development meant you didn't see beggars and homeless.
If you did see them, they wouldn't be there for long.
Arah then told Anon that they arrived earlier then expected from taking that shortcut. They had about a week until Aldway's birthday.
They spent a few hours and a bit of coin to rent a home. Thanks to Anon being a potentia born. Things were resolved quite quickly.
You might wonder why Arah didn't have a class... despite having access to the stone? It was because his father forbid him from using it! He wanted the best for his son and using the stone could cut off infinite potential.
Although the chances of awakening without a potentia stone were quite low.
Soon. Anon was sitting in his own courtyard.
"It has been a long time since I've had a place to call my own."
Anon had stored his 'unlimited' pass inside of his storage space. He then meditated for five days straight! His entire body was covered in invisible animaxiom.
Arah had been observing and checking in on him every now and then. He was surprised that he didn't get dirty or need to eat. He assumed that Anon was sleeping in a meditative posture! But Anon wasn't sleeping at all.
Soon Arah tapped Anon's shoulder.
