The Legend of Axiom
Chapter 14: Arrested

Chapter 14: Arrested

Anon opened his eyes!

He felt amazing. It was as if he had the best night of sleep EVER! But this confused him. The last thing he remembered was taking a gamble and destroying his hourglass.

He knew his consciousness was tied to the hourglass. So how was he alive? It made no sense!

He looked at his hands and realized something instantly.

"No way... I unlocked another seal? How?"

Anon now had 'concentration', 'true vision' and 'extraordinary sense'. He looked within his sea of consciousness and was even more surprised.

"Both the timekeeper and truth are gone..."

But this wasn't the only thing that surprised him. His sea of consciousness was completely empty!

"Have I become a completely normal human? No."

Anon tried to activate his axiom state. But it was as if there was a disconnect between his body and mind.

"I've experienced this before. The control rate of my body has decreased. If before it was at 99%. Now it is at 10%."

Anon was searching every memory he had to try to understand his situation.

"I see... when I destroyed the artifact. The potential of an entire universe baptized my consciousness. Instead of being wiped out. I gained the hidden potential of the artifact."

Anon had no idea the sort of insane feats he had pulled off.

Anon sighed.

"Without the Mask of Truth... I suppose I no longer have my axiom state. A pity."

Anon held out his hand.

"Wait... I can still feel 'it'. Why is it so different?"

Anon didn't know anything about the animaxiom system of soul relics he had acquired. It was sort of like playing a game and not realizing you have the cheat codes.

Anon didn't have the innate ability to see or interact with soul. He could look within his sea of consciousness. But this was different from soul.

What he was feeling now was his storage space that was about a cubic meter.

"My storage space is fine."

"If the potential of the artifacts baptized my consciousness. I believe I can still transform!"

Anon had become a 'spacesmith' in the past. He had great control over his storage space and could even use it to perform precise cuts. But he noticed something wrong right away.

"This..."

"I can't control it like before at all!"

Anon had no idea his soul had become indestructible. This had a few side-effects. It wasn't as easy to manipulate his inner storage space and shrink it like before.

Expanding it would also be harder then before.

He would need to expand his 'anima reservoir'. This was no easy feat.

Anon didn't even know about his anima abilities.

"Being baptized by the artifacts likely had some negative effects as well. You cannot gain an advantage for free."

Anon tried to transform into his axiom state.

"Why is it that I feel that I'm forgetting something? I need to raise the control rate over my body..."

Luckily, he was on vacation for three months.

"Without my hourglass. My timeless declaration is destroyed."

"But..."

"The next seal is 'deification'. That should deify and merge every cell in my body. No deoxyribonucleic acid. No organelles. No membranes. It is like getting rid of the mortal body!"

Anon wasn't too confident he would be able to unlock this seal. But now he unlocked another seal quite 'easily'. He was feeling pretty confident.

"There is a way to test my timeless declaration..."

"All I have to do is nothing!"

Anon sat down underneathe a tree. A few days passed as he practiced manipulating his sea of consciousness. He also visualized himself moving and stretching to improve the control rate of his body.

A week later...

"I didn't die from organ failure or dehydration. Nor did I become hungry."

"Somehow I retained my timeless declaration. I'm quite lucky it would seem!"

Anon's control rate between body and soul rapidly increased. This was mainly due to 'true vision'. This supernatural power boosted his comprehension beyond the limit of mortals.

Soon he reached 99% but hit a wall and was unable to reach 100%.

Anon felt that beyond this wall was his axiom state! But this was just a theory.

"Why does it feel as if I am generating some type of energy?"

"This has a different taste then spiritual energy!"

Anon tried to focus on this feeling. But it was quite elusive. He soon stopped.

"I sort of miss my hourglass..."

"I had planned to remain in my axiom state for three months. But now I can't even transform into it. I hope I didn't break something..."

Anon was quite far away as he had planned on flying in an invisble state back to his apartment. Now... he had to do the walk of shame. He didn't plan on wasting his vacation in the wilderness when he couldn't even try to test the limits of his powers.

He was happy his seals were still around though. He wasn't a completely normal human!

"Fuck this. I'll call a cab..."

Anon looked within his storage space and found that his phone was missing.

"Fuck."

"Did shattering my mask corrupt some of the data?"

Anon inwardly laughed at his situation.

"Luckily. I have infinite stamina..."

Anon did the walk of shame and eventually reached his apartment complex. He had spent some days outside exposed to the elements. The rain and winds made him quite dirty.

The police had closed off the area.

"What happened?"

Anon approached.

"There is an ongoing investigation. Please step aside!"

Anon saw people carrying things out of the building.

"Hey! That's my computer!"

The officers froze.

"You... are Mr. Amos?"

"Yes."

Anon felt something was off. He then ducked his head as a tranquilizer narrowly missed him, he was able to do this thanks to his extraordinary sense. The two officers pulled out their tasers and fired.

Anon had three seals unlocked. But none of these gave him the ability to resist convulsing from getting shocked.

But he wasn't a normal person. His control over his body had reached 99%! He also had a storage space. He stepped to the side as everything looked like slow motion due to his true vision.

He then reached his hand out and grabbed the copper wires. Before it made any contact with his skin. He had already stored the tasers in his storage space.

The officers became confused. But unfortunately, they had body cams on. Anon knew this. But he felt that their intentions weren't good and he would rather resist then get arrested.

He was still worried about becoming a experiment subject. But his actions didn't match his plans. He couldn't help but react to the best of his abilities.

Everything had happened so fast. Anon hadn't operated off of pure logic here. His body did all of this like an instinct, revealing his abnormalities. While the officers were distracted he tackled one to the ground and destroyed their body camera.

The other took out their gun and fired!

Anon felt a strong sense of danger and shifted his body to the left. He pulled the officer on the ground with him and narrowly avoided both of them getting shot.

Anon held the cop in front of him as the officer pointed their gun at him. He then took out the hand-cuffs and cuffed the cop as he pushed them forward.

This put the other officer in a dilemma. If this cop fell face first at this momentum without anything to brace his fall. He could suffer a major concussion or even die!

The cop caught his falling comrade. While he did this. Anon grabbed his body cam and pulled it off his body. He destroyed it.

Unfortunately, the recordings were automatically loaded to a server. Anon's actions were pointless. But he didn't know this.

Soon more police arrived and Anon was surrounded.

"Fuck..."
