Anon looked inside of his sea of consciousness with a new level of detail. Ever since unlocking his 'true vision'. He felt as if he could see the secrets of reality. It was as if his entire life. He had been a blind man. But now he had finally opened up his eyes.
This new type of 'true vision' gave him new insights.
After finding the 'exploit' behind his axiom state. Basically figuring out how to remain in it for infinity. He was feeling more confident in abusing his powers.
"If I truly spend three months in my axiom state. What will happen to me when I transform back? I felt like I was nearly dying before. That was only after a few days..."
Anon's sea of consciousness started to shake and his hourglass floated up from the depths. It seemed scared for some reason. Was some threat approaching? It felt uneasy.
But the threat wasn't external.
This was an entirely internal battle!
"I said I would give it my all. I have met all my requirements for the protagonist halo. It would be foolish to waste this opportunity. Great risk. Great reward."
Anon thought back to when he awakened from his domain. Back then he nearly was wiped out. But he felt excited just thinking about 'losing'.
Anon never feared losing.
Anon feared himself. He feared wasting his potential.
It was a bit paradoxical. It would be safer to keep the status quo and slowly and safely explore his powers. But Anon thought about something critical.
Him figuring out how to make his own spiritual energy. That required the foundation he created for himself before 'reviving'. Anon had made an outline for himself by developing a 'perfect soul' with ten seals.
He felt that quietly living for centuries being mediocre was a waste.
How was he supposed to become a legend if he was a coward who ran away at the slightest bit of danger?
His sea of consciousness was like a raging sea. But in an instant it started to boil and the mist formed an outline of himself. Within it. He floated towards his Mask of Truth and put it on.
He then looked at his hourglass playfully.
Anon then spoke to 'Sovereign's Timekeeper'.
"Back then you told me you were a timekeeper. But you don't even tell time! You are useless!"
Anon started to insult his artifact much to its confusion.
He was looking to get a negative reaction. But this thing was truly confused. Was something wrong with its master?
After five minutes of random insults that didn't make much sense.
Anon waved his hands and used his comprehension of space folding to perform a sort of reality slash. He used his true vision to attack the weak points of his hourglass.
The hourglass released a ominous pressure in a instant. It had become a ruler of time.
Stolen story; please report.
Anon felt choked by this pressure and his Mask of Truth cracked down the middle.
"Good! Good! Good!"
In reality. Anon started to bleed from his eyes.
"Do you think I haven't noticed?"
Anon laughed. His face underneath the mask looked quite creepy. Sadly there was nobody to watch this interaction. All of a sudden, it was as if Anon became immune to the hourglass's pressure.
Anon started to wave his hands back and forth as if he was controlling a thousand puppets. Each finger was a string and each one was deadly. He couldn't do this in real life. But in his sea of consciousness. He was the ruler!
Space was getting cut in his consciousness as the hourglass swayed. But it wasn't flexible and it lacked limbs. It could move back and forth. But it ended up taking a lot of hits.
The hourglass started to crack.
His mask shattered.
"I've always wondered what would happen to my axiom state without an artifact."
"Let's us see..."
"Destroying a heavenly treasure is absolutely insane. Who would be so dumb to waste such a gift?"
Anon spirit body was cracked all over. Blood was leaking out of his axiom state like sweat. His white eyes seemed bloodshot. His body had once again entered a state of superposition.
The hourglass was so confused. It had no idea what was going on. Why did its master attack it? It had latched onto this person to save itself. But its savior seemed suicidal!
In reality as this battle was happening. Anon was glitching between base and axiom state like a character glitching through a wall in a game.
Anon started to laugh like a demon from hell.
"It's so beautiful!"
"Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!"
The hourglass watched Anon slowly approach. It felt true fear. It was cracked all over and Anon was near death. His body was having a seizure, but he didn't let that disturb him.
His spirit body in his sea of consciousness now lacked a mask. His face just looked demonic.
But then his face relaxed and his eyes focused on the hourglass.
"They say that a fool and his money are soon parted..."
"Do you take me for a fool?"
"..." The hourglass couldn't even respond properly.
Anon sighed.
"True vision has truly opened up my eyes. I might have missed such a critical detail..."
Anon shattered the hourglass...
"It's so beautiful!"
"Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!"
"They say that a fool and his money are soon parted..."
"Do you take me for a fool?"
The hourglass felt despair. Again. Again. Again. It went as far back in time as it could to escape its fate. But every time it heard something chilling...
Anon's excited voice:
"It's so beautiful!"
"Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!"
The same scenario played out millions of times. The hourglass felt its will shatter along with its body. It was made up of the stuff of legends. But it was suffering a fate worse then death. Doomed to repeat this moment for eternity.
Slowly over the years. It became insane. Angry.
It wanted Anon to feel the pain he had inflicted upon itself.
So it did something insane.
What it didn't know was that Anon was reaching his limit. He had perfectly done the same action millions of times. He had acted as if he was in some sort of time loop and didn't retain his memories.
But the truth was. The hourglass was tied to his consciousness. When it activated its emergency mechanism. It pulled Anon back with it.
Anon was 'acting'. In truth. He felt despair. He didn't know if what he was doing was right. He felt as if he had put himself in a dead-end.
The pain he felt was unimaginable.
The mere pressure of needing to perform and react the exact same way millions of times without stopping for a break had crushed his spirit. His mind was on auto-pilot as it became engraved in his muscle memory.
But he promised himself to go all out!
If he was right...
This could change everything!
The hourglass was the tool Anon had used to manipulate his domain. It was what he used to create his perfect creation. But Anon always advocated for permanent power. He didn't want to have to rely on a temperamental object with a 'will'.
The hourglass had once showed Anon the memories of its birth. When it was but a colorful ball of potential and was shaped by Anon's subconscious desires and the universes death.
This time. The hourglass hit Anon with everything it had. All its rules and tricks. Its entire being. It put everything it had into this 'mental attack'. It had no idea this was a theory of being Anon had developed after looking at it with his 'true vision'.
It didn't care about being destroyed anymore.
It didn't care about evading getting consumed.
It just wanted Anon to feel its pain! So it showed him 'everything'!
Anon normally should've become a fool from grasping infinity. But that didn't happen. His soul, mind, and even body and spirit had been tempered by his 'acting'.
The mere exercise of doing the same action millions of times for years had made him unshakable. But that alone couldn't make him able to absorb all this information.
It was his 'true vision' innate boost to his comprehension that allowed him to understand 'Sovereign's Timekeeper'.
The hourglass shattered for the last time.
Anon died.
