Chapter 34: "I am..."

Chapter 34: "I am..."

"A unique class? How could I be so unlucky..."

A guard then whispered.

"Heavens luck!"

Anon ignored them and had a thorough talk with Luv'iodrru.

"I see... The demon king isn't nearby?"

"His base is outside the seal! I am willing to dedicate everything to you! I can help you navigate this forest. Nobody knows it better then me."

Anon then said:

"I heard there was a lich in this forest. Transforming those who wander in into their servants? I would like to meet 'it'!"

"You!? They are the true ruler of this domain..."

Anon started to squeeze his animaxiom, putting pressure on the body of Luv'iodrru.

"Fine! Fine! I yield..."

"I will take you to him!"

Luv'iodrru sneered inwardly. They only saw death for this human. He may be invulnerable to those who lack a pure heart. But the lich had many magical means.

Could he resist the craving of power? Could he resist corpse conversion? He was walking into the cave of a apex predator! The Lich in this forest was a quasi S-Class existence!

Soon Luv'iodrru took the group towards the base of the lich.

"I can't go any further..."

"This place is guarded by a variety of undead."

"Can I go free no-?!" Luv'iodrru exploded!

The group looked at Anon speechlessly.

Anon shrugged.

"I never said I would let them live..."

"I did say they would die if they didn't follow my instructions... but they would also die regardless!"

"What is this?"

Anon saw a colorful stone on the ground.

"It is a core of the creature!" Arah said.

"This can be used to enchant gear. It is a hard currency!"

"The blood of a doppelganger can also be used to make a variety of potions! These materials are all worth collecting..."

Soon those skilled in butchering and collection started to store the parts of Luv'iodrru in various jars and containers. After around twenty minutes of cleaning.

They were ready!

"You guys wait here. I'll go alone!"

Arah nodded.

"We will wait here!"

Anon slowly walked towards the base of the lich. He saw demonic skeletons with red bones guarding the entrance of the base. He also saw an army of undead.

Ghouls, skeletons, and zombies!

Anon was walking quite casually. He was soon swarmed by these undead. The zombies tried to bite him. The ghouls tried to tear off his limbs. The skeletons tried to melee him to death.

But the thickness of his animaxiom was so dense that it was as if he was invulnerable!

"Having such power is a little boring..." Anon sighed in disappointment.

"What a disapp-" Anon's 'extraordinary sense' warned him of danger! He jumped on one hand and dodged a giant sword strike.

"What? I felt like that attack could harm me?"

It was a death knight! A high quality undead! It was on a completely different level then these weak undead. It charged at Anon at a speed quite insane.

Anon started to do backflips as he dodged each of its attacks.

"I don't believe you can cut through my defense if I go all out!"

A aura of animaxiom shot into the sky from Anon. This was a fatal attraction. Anon's animaxiom was normally invisible. But it looked silver in this instance.

The death knight wasn't intimidated at all! It soon chopped down. But Anon caught the blade with his hand!

"Is this all you amount to?"

Anon's animaxiom barrier then vanished!

"What the fuck..."

It hadn't shattered or been destroyed. It was as if the energy was absorbed itself!

Anon then noticed that he hadn't felt the presence of someone behind him. A skeleton in black robes was holding its hand on Anon's body.

Anon felt the animaxiom being sucked from his body!

"I wouldn't do that if I were you..."

The skeleton started to shake. It then blew up!

The death knight froze. It had distracted Anon to give an opening to one of the stealthed skeletons. Why did absorbing the life force of this human cause the skeleton to explode?

But the gap in animaxiom on Anon's body still left an opening. His hand was split in two as the death knight slammed its sword deeper. His entire arm was split down the middle.

Anon vanished and appeared a few meters away.

He looked at his hand.

"Who knew that you had a pure heart!"

The death knight had no idea what he was talking about.

Anon started to use his 'anima revive'. The wound closed in real time as it completely regenerated. The layer of animaxiom over his body thickened again.

"That trick won't work on me a second time!"

All sorts of undead surrounded Anon completely. Some with weapons, others not. Anon didn't allow any to touch him to avoid them absorbing his animaxiom.

While it was deadly to them. It felt like a waste of energy.

Anon started to dodge and basically break dance on the ground as he avoided all attacks. He then went on the offensive. He slowly destroyed the entire undead army.

The battle lasted for nearly 24 hours!

Anon sighed as he looked at the corpses of the undead surrounding him. He then slowly walked among the mountain of corpses.

----------------------------------------

"Master! A human has invaded your domain!"

"What is Luv'iodrru doing? I don't need more undead..."

"Master... they are dead!"

"Dead? Has some hero come to challenge me?"

"I can feel them. Their energy... it is delicious!"

"Send the army to surround them..."

"Such a quality body could make for another death knight!"

A few hours later...

"How are they able to kill those who absorb their energy? Why can they regenerate so quickly? A pure heart? Hmm..."

"Keep surrounding them with our legion. They will run out of stamina soon."

Twenty hours later...

The Lich was pissed! His army he had collected over the last century was reduced to nothing!

Xaervist stood up from his throne.

His servant looked at him in shock.

"You intend to fight that mortal yourself!? He isn't worthy!"

"There is nobody left... I will show them what true despair is..."

----------------------------------------

Anon walked through the mountain of corpses he had created. He then felt his extraordinary sense going off. Xaervist! The Lich was standing off in the distance at the entrance of their base.

It spoke quietly. But the voice was like thunder in Anon's ears.

"I will roast your soul in hellfire for a thousand years!"

Anon replied back. His voice imbued with animaxiom.

"Only a thousand years? That is hardly any time at all!"

Xaervist laughed.

"Your arrogance will be you undoing!" Xaervist held out his hands and bones started to shoot from out of the ground. Anon was like an acrobat as he dodged each individual spike.

Xaervist had fought knights in his early days. They were normally restricted due to their armor. He had never seen someone with such graceful moves.

No wonder this human didn't wear armor!

Anon teleported in front of Xaervist and attacked. A bone wall rose from the ground and wrapped around Anon.

"Before I became a lich. I was a grade 7 necromancer! You stand no chance!"

Anon was intrigued.

"You keep your class after transforming?"

Xaervist laughed.

"You don't even know this? A class upgrade! I went from a necromancer to a lich! This is the most perfect existence. I can help you become an undead!"

Anon laughed as well...

"I'm not interested."

"No? Then die!" The lich grasped Anon's heart and crushed it.

Anon coughed up golden blood.

Xaervist spoke with pride.

"An instant kill ability... you should've taken my offer. I'll m-"

The hole in Anon's chest closed and he smiled.

"You!? What are you!?"

Anon didn't answer them.

He went on the offensive. Bones started to attack him from every direction.

"Rise up!"

Xaervist slammed their foot on the ground and the corpses started to regenerate as they stood up to fight again. He even attacked Anon's soul! But it was all useless.

"I refuse to believe you have infinite stamina! I'll wear you down repeatedly. My mana reserves are nearly limitless!"

A few hours later...

"This!? This isn't possible!"

"What are you!?"

Anon laughed once more.

"I am a man that stands at the pinnacle. A natural potentia born with the demigod class! Perhaps I'll upgrade my class to 'god' in the future!"

"Alright enough playing around..."

Anon held out his hands and a beam of light shot into the sky from his position. His hair started to rise as rubble started to float up into the sky from his transformation.

"It took awhile. But fighting you has given me some insights."

"You attacked my soul. That was your worst sin..."

Xaervist felt fear. It had a grasp over souls from trapping people in their undead husk. It saw that Anon's soul that was white turned black. It was like a blackhole!

"What are you doing!?"

Anon laughed like a madman.

"Ascension!"

"You asked what I am?"

"I am..."

"Axiom!" In this moment an explosion went off from Anon's location. A giant pit was left where the battlefield was. Xaervist had a shield covering his body. But it had shattered and cracks were covering his bones.

Anon was floating in the sky. He felt a state of bliss.

"What did you do!?"

Anon smiled as he floated on his back. Not even facing his enemy.

The giant pit almost extended out to the caravan. The destruction had stopped right before meeting them. But all the fog in the entire forest had been dispelled.

"You aren't a human at all! You are a specter!"

Anon ignored everything.

He was quite happy.
