"I think we should take that route."
Nave had mainly wanted to see Anon's fear. But Anon reacted as if he didn't know the horrors of that undead forest!
Arah gulped and asked if Anon could keep them all safe.
"I can't make any promises..."
"But as a demigod. I am also blessed with the passive skill 'heavens luck'."
"Whooaaa!"
"What grade are you?"
Anon had no idea what they were talking about. He just made up some nonsense.
"Grade. What is that?"
"...I forgot you are a natural potentia born!"
"Your grade is the amount of unique abilities you have unlocked."
Anon thought about his 'concentration', 'true vision', 'extraordinary sense', 'deification', 'anima manipulator', 'anima ward', 'anima leap', 'anima transmit', and 'anima revive'.
"I should be grade nine..."
"...That's..." There was a silence as everyone focused on Anon.
"Wasn't the legendary archmage who sealed off the rest of the world only a grade nine? Classes themselves are rare enough. But you are a grade nine! Are you some sort of legend!?"
Anon then mentioned:
"Most of my abilities are passive!"
"Passive skills themselves are a rarity!" Arah's eyes were blazing. He had found a gem!
One of the guards started counting on one hand.
"Immortal."
"Impervious to damage from those that lack a pure heart."
"Heavens luck..."
The guard then said:
"Normally, abilities have a cost to them. A drawback or penalty for abusing them. You must have some weakness!"
Anon sighed.
"You are correct."
"I am immortal. But only if I am killed by natural disasters or those unworthy."
Arah's eyes then widened in shock!
"That means you can still become a god! You just have to die a worthy death!"
Nave asked what constituted making someone 'worthy'.
Anon then said:
"It is similar. The person must have a noble spirit and a pure heart."
"...Is that even a weakness! What sort of bullshit requirements is that!?"
Anon sneered.
"Let's head through fog forest." Anon spoke.
A few days later. Anon had traveled with the caravan to a few nearby villages. At this point, most of the stock had been traded or sold off. Arah had made quite the haul.
Soon they arrived at the border of the 'fog forest'. It was covered in a fog that seemed to be sealed off from the rest of the world.
Nave spoke:
"It is said that a ancient lich. A legend type creature lives within..."
"Those that enter are killed and transformed into his undead to do their bidding."
Anon was intrigued.
"A lich eh? Was it once a human? Or did it come from somewhere else?"
"Our continent is still sealed off from the outside and the void. So unless it is centuries old. It has to be a human transformed from forbidden magic."
Soon the caravan entered the forest. The fog was so thick that you couldn't see a few meters in front of you. But Anon had 'true vision' and 'extraordinary sense'. He was used to always being blinded.
Such a fog made no difference to him.
"Stop."
Soon the caravan came to a halt.
"There is some type of creature about ten meters in front of us. There are also some creatures beginning to surround the caravan."
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
The guards surrounded Arah in a circle formation.
"How did you detect them?"
Anon pointed at his blindfold.
"When I lost my sight. My other senses became inhuman..."
"You're blind!?"
"Why else would I wear a blindfold?" Anon lied as easily as he breathed.
Nave threw a rock in front of them and confirmed that Anon was correct.
"Amazing!"
"Ahhhh!" A tentacle grabbed one of the knights and they were pulled into the fog.
Everyone felt fear. This was a mistake. They shouldn't have entered this forest!
"Everyone hold hands..."
"I'll shield you all. This is-"
More screaming as everyone was getting picked off one by one.
The carriages had disappeared and Anon found himself alone in the fog filled forest.
"Their fear is delicious..."
"Your smell. You have no fear? Your comrades have all been consumed."
Anon laughed.
"My comrades consumed? Who decided that?"
"Show yourself!"
Soon the fog dispersed. But that wasn't what Anon was talking about. Standing in front of him was someone that looked like himself!
"What a stupid trick." Anon muttered.
"Oh? You wish to see my true form?"
The muscles and skin started to roll as the skin was torn like paper. A amalgamation of flesh and tentacles was squirming underneath the disguise.
"I am Luv'iodrru! The second general of the Demon King."
"You have entered my domain! Prepare to-"
Anon exploded.
"...What?"
----------------------------------------
Nave threw a rock in front of them and confirmed that Anon was correct.
"Amazing!"
Anon looked at the first knight that had been abducted. He flicked his fingers and launched a strand of animaxiom at where the tentacle would appear.
Anon couldn't control animaxiom too far from his body. It was sort of like how one could hold a bullet and load a gun. But once they fired the shot. They couldn't adjust it anymore.
Anon could still 'launch' animaxiom away from him. He just couldn't control it after a certain range.
A tentacle appeared in a split second and was cut off!
More tentacles appeared. But Anon had cut off each one before it could capture the guards.
Due to the fog. The guards had no idea they had come close to death.
Anon imbued his voice with animaxiom and shouted.
"Luv'iodrru! Show yourself!"
The fog surrounding them dispersed. They then saw someone that looked like Arah. But their face twisted and distorted making it look Anon. Then Nave. It was switching back and forth from being members of their party.
"How did you know my name?"
Anon spoke simply:
"You told me it!"
"No human has ever seen me and lived to tell the tale..."
"I had planned to torment you by picking off your comrades one by one. But your reaction... You aren't human are you? No human could react so quickly. It was as if you knew the exact position I would appear!"
The fog started to cover everyone again. Everyone became essentially blinded.
Anon held out his hands and formed a small bubble of animaxiom. He then expanded this bubble by pouring in massive amounts of animaxiom.
A shield expanded dispersing all the fog within sight!
Everyone, including Luv'iodrru were shocked!
"How did you do that?"
Anon decided to have some fun with his replies.
"I don't know. I just looked deep within and felt a new ability awaken!"
"Bullshit!" The nameless guard couldn't help but comment.
"I heard you are the second general of the demon king. Take me to him and I will allow you to live." Anon spoke.
Luv'iodrru laughed madly. A human, threatening it? This human simply got lucky. It was a 'legend' type creature. A doppelganger! If it wasn't trapped in this forest due to the orders of its king. It would have long brought chaos to the world already.
"You aren't worthy of seeing my liege!"
Anon walked towards it alone. The guards were frozen in place.
"A general of the demon king? Even if he is immortal. It's too risky!" Arah couldn't help but comment.
Luv'iodrru was shocked.
"You..."
"How is there no fear in your heart?"
Anon laughed.
"Fear? I feel only pity."
"Pity?... Alright. You have succeeded at pissing me off."
Luv'iodrru started to shake and then divide like a slime. Another Luv'iodrru appeared. Both of them looked like Anon. He then split again. There were now four. Again! Eight.
"I can copy any lifeform and mimic them! You'll have to fight eight of yourself! You have no chance."
"I must admit. You have one of the strongest and weirdest physiques I have ever seen. It feels so good!"
"This power! This-?"
"Ahhhhhh!" Luv'iodrru screamed.
One of his clones blew up.
"You!? What did you do?"
Anon was a bit confused. But he saw the situation from his true vision.
Anon started to laugh.
Another one of the clones blew up.
Luv'iodrru eyes were filled with horror. How was he doing this...? He was killing him in seemingly an instant. Anon saw what was really going on. His body was filled with animaxiom. It had also undergone deification. When it was copied. The fake couldn't copy all of his animaxiom reserves.
It also didn't have the thousands of years experience controlling his body. If Anon relaxed his animaxiom. He could allow it to go haywire. This is his preferred method of death nowadays.
But this 'instinct' of killing himself was also copied!
Luv'iodrru literally accidentally triggered this mechanism. It was sort of like Anon assigning a part of his mind to a task. Imagine if you blinking too fast could kill you.
This is what happened to Luv'iodrru!
"I wouldn't use my body if I were you..."
All the clones blew up and Luv'iodrru's main body started to bloat. He quickly realized what was wrong.
"What sort of body is that? Why is it so easy to self detonate? How are you even alive with such a mechanism!?"
Luv'iodrru transformed into its true form. Not daring to gamble with its life.
Anon slowly walked towards it.
"My offer still stands..."
"Take me to your king. Or die!"
Anon was attacked by twelve tentacles. They cracked like whips. But with each attack. He didn't even move. The guards watching commented in shock.
"This 'Luv'iodrru' lacks a pure heart!"
Luv'iodrru shouted:
"Pure heart? What?"
Arah then started to commentate over the battle.
"You aren't dealing with the average class here. This man is a demigod!"
"Demigod?"
"Yes! He is also invulnerable to all attacks by those without a pure heart!"
Luv'iodrru screamed:
"Bullshit!" It continued to attack as Anon slowly walked towards it. Just like how he grabbed Tian by the neck when he traveled to the gateway. He wrapped Luv'iodrru in animaxiom, freezing them in place.
Luv'iodrru couldn't move!
"You!? How is it possible?"
Anon spoke:
"Arah said it clearly. I am a demigod!"
"A unique class? How could I be so unlucky..." Luv'iodrru was crying. It felt its luck was really ridiculously unlucky to meet such a monster. It had fought grandmaster knights and the trick of copying the physique was a move that put them into a deadlock.
Nobody could beat fighting their equal multiple times in a jump.
But when it tried this strategy on this human.
It blew up! This made no sense! What sort of training had this human undergone?
