"Why is it so hard for me to die?"
"What the hell am I?!"
Anon felt this was all completely ridiculous! He had lived for thousands of years. But his cognition was getting broken by the feats he pulled off.
Firstly. He had his own mysterious energy with unknown origins that came from his soul itself. Second. He could even inject his body with this energy directly from his soul! Third. He could freeze time for the universe and maybe even all of reality upon death. He could leap back through time or use his energy to ressurect.
While there were limits to the soul relics. These limits mainly had to do with consumption. This wasn't even all of his cards:
Seal 9: Concentration
Seal 8: True Vision
Seal 7: Extraordinary Sense
Seal 6: Deification
Seal 5: Divine Sense
Seal 4: Materializer
Seal 3: Virus
Seal 2: False/True
Seal 1: System Integration
Seal 0: Administrator
He had designed a seal system for his soul and had already unlocked the first three seals. 'Concentration', 'True Vision', and 'Extraordinary Sense'.
Concentration allowed him to recover in both body, spirit, and soul. It didn't seem to affect the rate he recovered animaxiom from what he could tell.
True Vision boosted his comprehension and allowed him to see things from a different perspective.
Extraordinary Sense allowed him sense danger. In combination with his true vision. He could react to the environment while blinded and be completely unaffected. He even felt that cutting off his sight helped his focus!
He then had the soul relics he had discovered:
Anima Reservoir
Anima Generator
Anima Manipulator
Anima Ward
Anima Leap
Anima Revive
By combining the abilities of the relics 'anima ward', 'anima leap' and 'anima manipulator'. He could attach his consciousness to anima and think in frozen time.
He could do this for years although it drained his animaxiom. He had learned the hard way that his 'anima revive' could use the animaxiom circulating throughout his body.
Anon felt his only real weakness was the small capacity of animaxiom in his soul...
If only there were some way to increase it!
Although Anon found his abilities completely ridiculous. He was secretly filled with ectasy! For others, immortality may bring a pressure and a fate quite horrible.
Who wants to be around when the sun dies? Who wants to watch their loved ones grow old as they remain the same? But Anon was different.
Ever since he was trapped in his 'domain'. He knew that he was on a clock. While he didn't have to worry about his physical body in that space. His consciousness wasn't everlasting. It was growing old over the centuries. It was becoming stagnant and dull.
That is why he made the timeless declaration in the first place. Anon was wandering the streets in escape from the scene of him reviving in front of a crowd of people.
HIs face was covered in his tattered shirt and his body was visible for all to see. He used his parkour skills to scale a old fire escape to an apartment building and eventually got to an isolated place.
Anon breathed a sigh of relief and thought to himself:
"I still haven't unlocked my axiom state..."
"But now..."
Anon was finally ready to build a true foundation! What did this mean? It meant he was going to become filthy rich! He knew just how to abuse his abilities.
Being a magician at a circus? Anon had his fun. But he planned on winning the lottery directly.
Anon left the city he had spent over a year dying repeatedly in. He went back to his hometown.
Thanks to him not needing to sleep or eat. He didn't even worry about finding a place to stay. He became homeless again for a few weeks. During this time. He paid attention to the winners of certain lotteries.
He then found one with five million jackpot if you got five out of seven numbers. If you got all seven numbers. It was a fifty million jackpot!
"14-18-19-20-20-7-7"
Anon memorized these winning numbers. He then raised his hand and placed it on his throat. He directly tore out his entire throat and started to choke as blood sprayed. Anon could use animaxiom to kill himself in less painful ways. But his brain was a bit weird in how he handled things.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
He returned 24 hours to the past. His animaxiom was completely drained! He went to a gas station and filled out a form and bought a ticket with the winning numbers.
Anon's old phone had been destroyed when he jumped to his death. He had bought a new one.
History remained unchanged. Anon got all seven numbers!
"I'm rich!"
Anon took a few buses to the town where the lottery headquarters was located. If it was a small sum. You would be able to claim things online. But Anon had won fifty million! He had to show up in person.
Soon he showed up. His clothes were in tatters and his hair was a mess. His body had a bad smell. Anon looked nothing like the handsome young man he used to be. He was covered in dirt from the elements.
Due to 'concentration'. He never had to rest or recuperate. His perspective on time was also disturbed. When he was spending time at the traveling circus. Ayil made sure he was organized and clean.
Anon had spent the last year dying repeatedly. He didn't care about his appearance at all. He didn't need to eat or worry about what others thought about him.
It wasn't that he was lazy.
He was forgetting what it meant to be human. He was living like a animal. But even an animal needed certain things to survive. There was a disconnect happening to Anon.
Time for him just passed so quickly. The ceremony that most mortals did became burdens and annoyances to him.
Thanks to the problem of his dull spirituality vanishing.
He had nothing to stimulate him anymore. If before, he wanted to become everlasting to take advantage of the changes he had made in his domain.
He wanted to bring supernatural power to this world and become the system over time.
But now...
He didn't know what he wanted to do. He needed to do things one step at a time. He was essentially immortal as long as he didn't make stupid decisions.
But boy was Anon good at making horrible decisions. But if he didn't have such a 'gambling' spirit. He never would've became what he became.
He was itching at the thought of a true death. It wasn't that he wanted to die. But as a entity that had lived for thousands of years. He did yearn for the 'feeling'.
This is why he loved to savor the frozen time of his death for so many years.
Basically. Anon was batshit insane. His thoughts were in no way rational. It wasn't some form of madness from seeing supernatural beings. It was a madness cultivated from a lack of consequence.
Things just always seemed to work out for him. It was like the universe was focused on him and him alone. He wanted to test this.
Imagine if one day you find that you are immortal. You experience car crashes, explosions, suffocation, electrocution and get stabbed. You die in many different ways.
You lived for centuries.
You then find a man that comes up to you.
He then tells you:
"I can kill you."
Despite it being death... aren't you curious? Maybe a rational person would be cautious. But Anon wasn't rational at all. He would bet on it even if he knew it was a guarantee!
But at the same time.
Anon didn't want to die.
He just wanted to understand...
Why was he so special? Why did he gain the enlightenment meant for an alternate version of himself? Why was he trapped in isolation for thousands of years? Why was he left alone with nothing but his thoughts and the memories of countless soul fragments?
Anon felt that he was hiding some big secret. But it was something he couldn't grasp.
There was a reason for Anon's personality. It wasn't entirely due to him just being insane. He had gone through cycles of sane thought and delusion alone by himself.
This wasn't madness that originated from him.
You must remember. Anon consumed a fraction of a universes souls. He had consumed billions of soul fragments during the thousands of years he was in his domain.
All these personalities and memories subconsciously made his goals contradictory!
This is why he often contradicted himself and reacted as he did.
Anon arrived at the lottery headquarters. He walked up to the front desk and showed his ticket.
"We need your original social security card. We also need to see your license or a valid form of I.D."
Anon frowned.
"Fuck."
Anon channeled animaxiom through his body and caused it to go haywire. He then blew up. He appeared back in his hometown. He had learned how to gage his animaxiom. He could precisely control the amount on death to use. So he could almost select how far to go back in time. But with his capacity. He was still limited.
Anon did have parents. But they were a bit 'estranged'. When Anon was a child. His parents were very religious and thought that he was the spawn of satan.
Anon had always been an abnormal child.
When he was born. The sky went black. He had various problems because he refused to cry. The first time he made eye contact with his mother. She felt as if she was gazing into an abyss.
But this wasn't a positive thing at all.
He was simply too brilliant!
You might think the 'ancient' temperament came from him being trapped for thousands of years in his domain. But in reality. He wasn't normal at all! While his abilities seemed average and he was no different from a normal human...
In the timelines where he applied himself. He became a world changing inventor and gazed into the other side becoming insane. He was the creator of the 'singularity' and the cause of the collapse of a universe.
From Anon's perspective. Everyone always treated him as if he was hiding a big secret. Anon felt as if the whole world was in on a joke. But he couldn't get it.
He never allowed himself to get close to others. Because he couldn't relate to others. His parents didn't raise him.
He raised himself.
This led to him living a mediocre life. He wasn't simply lazy. He just felt all things that could be accomplished with effort were too boring! He could train all his life to be a professional athlete. But he would barely be performing outside human limits.
It was simply a waste!
But everything changed...
A dark energy explosion went off. Anon glimpsed through his connection something he shouldn't have. Something. A imprint followed the connection through his entangled soul.
He became trapped in some sort of void.
He spent a long time in this state. But he felt the aging of his spirit. He learned from his timekeeper how to construct his own artifact.
He learned how to trace the connection with his body and 'revive'.
He returned to the land of the living.
Everything changed the moment he destroyed his heavenly treasure.
That was the true start of his legend.
But now Anon needed to do something he wasn't looking forward to. His parents had kept all his official documents such as his social security card and various other items.
If he wanted to claim the lottery. He would need to talk with them.
He didn't even know if they were still alive. His relationship with them had long deteriorated.
