Bliss Kendrick was a woman born during strife and unbalance in the world. She grew up in a time where having enough to eat was a rarity. It was as if she lived in a seperate world from the nobles. Her parents were poor and were mere essentially slaves to the vassals of the land.

You had 'plant' types. These were things like carniphillas, spitters, living vines and such.

You had 'demihuman' types. These were things like trolls, ogres, elves, and lizardman.

You had 'astral' types. These were things like elementals, devils, demons, and such.

You had 'undead' types. These were things like ghouls, mummies, zombies, ghost, and skeletons.

You had 'fey' types. These were things like pookas, pixies, nymphs, faun, and such.

You had 'construct' types. These were things like golems, crystal spiders, pillars.

You had 'dragon' types. These were things like wyverns, hydras, and dragons.

You had 'aquatic' types. Things like sea serpents, giant lantern fish, and such.

You had 'monster' types. Things like minotaurs, werewolves, slimes, and such.

You had 'legend' types. Things like doppelgangers, sphinxes, liches, and other mysterious creatures.

But make no mistake. These creatures varied massively in terms of threat and scale. For example a ancient slime could prove to be stronger then a newborn lich. If you took a plant type that had consumed enough magical resources. It could overpower legends.

There were different levels assigned to specific creatures.

From 'S' level to 'F' level.

Legend types were typically the result of forbidden experiments. A human seeking to become immortal might transform themselves into a lich for example.

There were many magical means in this world that allowed humans to become these creatures.

But these techniques and schools of thought were forbidden by the king!

Bliss lived on a continent called 'Ignis'.

It was completely sealed off from the rest of the world. There were however islands surrounding this continent. Each one having a volcanoe occupying it.

But these volcanoes were active and often dangerous to get near. The reason the continent was sealed off from the rest of the world was due to a legendary archmage a hundred years ago.

Back in ancient times. The void opened up a connection with this world allowing the once normal world to become filled with fantastical creatures.

But despite this overturning the lives of the people. People had also studied and awakened power from the void. People that could tap into this power were called 'potentia born'.

This had happened thousands of years ago. These people then divided this power into classes based on the characteristics that they had mastered.

Before you can understand the classes. You must first understand the 'potentia born' and the pioneers of an era.

Just like how humans could become creatures of evil. They could also become 'gods'. The potentia born of ancient times came to form a 'council' of gods.

The original names of the gods had been lost to time. But you would find in the collections of books of nobility. Those educated often knew of the first names of the gods. But the gods of time, space, and other powerful concepts seemingly were vacant.

Or completely lost to time with little believers.

There was a reason they were called 'gods'.

It had to do with 'potentia stone'. During the awakening process of unlocking your powers. You would get judged by all of the gods and assigned a class.

This was an important moment in ones life. But only royalty and nobility carried out these rituals. Vassals and farmers or slaves never would even get the chance to see this special stone. Let alone use it!

There were a few main classes and many hidden classes. If you used the potentia stone to awaken. You would only be able to awaken a class from the judgement of the gods.

If you however managed to awaken on your own. The sky was the limit! You could unlock a rare or a completely unique class!

This is what had happened to Bliss Kendrick.

She had awakened the class of a 'seer'.

There were also many hidden classes that were usually completely unique.

These could be awakened from more obscure gods.

But how did these people become gods in the first place? It had to do with the potentia stones. You had to be 'destined'. All of these people had legendary deaths.

That's right! They were all dead.

Having a legendary death was but one requirement to become a 'god'. The other requirement was faith. But many didn't know this at all.

Each 'god' was a living legend in their time alive. Back in ancient times. There were no classes. There was potentia stone. But nobody knew its function. It was essentially just a pretty rock.

But thousands of years later. It was worth more in its weight then gold!

The thing that made it precious was that it couldn't be used to infinitely awaken people. A stone the size of a pebble could only be used a few dozen times.

So not everyone with royal blood in their veins was given a chance. The truly powerful however looked down on these stones. Because it was a guarantee to get a specific class.

Those powerful strong man often called it the 'waste stone'. This was because if you awakened by yourself. You could get a class that broke all logic. Or you could get a completely useless class.

It was a gamble. But awakening yourself was the sign of a genius. The king and his family NEVER used the stone. It was forbidden. It was often the abilities that the princes awakened that would determine who the throne was passed on to.

The gods had all awakened by themselves. If you wanted to reach the peak. You were essentially throwing away your potential by using this method.

Despite what you might think. There were no 'levels' to these classes. There were however 'grades'.

The more abilities you unlocked related to your class. The higher your grade.

Bliss Kendrick had unlocked the 'seer' class. With it, she had unlocked 'precognition', 'prediction', and 'fortune telling'.

This meant she was merely a 'grade 3' seer. But this was an extreme rarity! She went from being poor and at the bottom of society to being in the prime of her life.

But how do you know someones class if they awakened by themselves? The potentia stone had a secondary function.

If you used it on someone who awakened by themselves. It obviously couldn't re-awaken them. So it instead would tell you and the person operating the stone the name of your class.

The classes were permanent and 'soul' bound.

Bliss Kendrick was currently 65 years old. She started to cough up blood as her eyes turned red. Her guard soon called in the best cleric money could buy!

She was healed. But she was rocking back and forth.
