Anya didn't know what to think about the person Samuel was visiting, knowing this person from the anime and the games, she had some respect for the future leader of Team Rocket and his ambitions, but she just couldn't approve of the methods they were using to reach their goals.

There was a small conundrum about Anya's current situation, she shouldn't interfere with Rocket business just for the possibility of causing an enormous butterfly effect which could possibly end the world.

She had heard from Samuel that Delia Ketchum has a few months old child named Ash, this allowed Anya to place herself on the timeline around 10 years before the events of the first season of the anime. There is a possibility that this world follows the events of the show and in them the Team Rocket has been playing an important part of the whole plot, not just negative but some of the positive things, Anya remembers scenes, where Jesse, James and Meowth of Team Rocket had played a critical role in saving Ash and co on multiple occasions. What would happen if those three were never part of Team Rocket due to Anya's meddling... Does the world correct itself or does she cause a paradox dooming them all by interfering, she wasn't willing to risk it all, the fate of the world might be deeply intertwined with Ash's and Team Rocket's.

Giovanni has been quite interested in Anya and after short explanation from Samuel that he was part of the research institute as a sponsor and one of the most influential figures in the whole of Viridian City, he also stated that he is gunning for a position to become an Elite Four member, a revelation which caught Anya by a surprise. She really only knew Giovanni as a Viridian Gym leader and as the leader of Team Rocket.

Samuel gave a good hearted laugh and even encouraged Giovanni. Even though Samuel hadn't seen Giovanni battle anyone, his gut instinct was telling him that Giovanni was a strong trainer along the the lines of the current Elite Four members.

The whole point of the meeting was a request from the Businessman to have the Pokémon Professor join a Legendary Pokémon research group run by a few high profile researchers like Dr. Fuji and Blaine from Cinnabar. The names were familiar to Anya, she knew Blaine being a Gym Leader, she couldn't for some reason remember why Fuji sounded familiar until the realization that the Pokémon caretaker in Lavender town was named Fuji, she couldn't remember any details about him except that he was the one giving the player a Poké flute, maybe he really was a researcher too.

What surprised Anya more was that Samuel agreed to the request and had decided to join their research group, Giovanni thanked Samuel and they proceeded to sign a legal contract and a non disclosure agreement, due to the volatile nature of the research subject.

All in all Anya found Giovanni quite likable and charismatic person, if only his other side wasn't known to her, she might actually fall for his manipulation.

There even was a small hope in Anya's mind that perhaps this world would be different compared to the ones she knew about.

The meeting had ended, leaving a tired Giovanni slumping on the office chair.

Giovanni's back was drenched in sweat, he had to keep his posture and not to react to the uncanny red eyes of the 'Anya' staring at him during the meeting. The careful planned act a diversion he had in play was slowly crumbling with the added pressure, Giovanni's senses were on constant alert state, they were telling him that this 'Anya' knew something, something that it had not told the Professor, yet. He knew it was capable of indirect communication via a typewriter.

The previous meeting they had had, before even being introduced to the Professor had felt odd, his Persian being alert, before calming down and the odd 'act' after. At the time, he dismissed the gesture as an apology towards offending his Persian, but now, now things were different.

Maybe listening to the plan of Madam Boss would ease his mind, but he has always been annoyed to follow her orders, the Team could do a lot more in his own hands, not just some needless monetary gains, but actually change the relations between Kanto and Johto to where Kanto was the one doing the oppressing instead of Johto.

That would have to wait, his scheme was in motion, he just had to wait for the right moment to spring the trap.
