Chapter 19

Anya woke up early, she had finally felt really well rested. Laying on her bed, her mind still on the dream from last night, it wasn't really a nightmare she mused. Her whole body felt refreshed, she stared at a familiar ceiling, her dream of being a pokemon felt so real. Her mind wandered on how different her life was as a pokemon compared to a human, she still vividly remembered how it felt to be treated as a pet, as an animal, hurt by bites, scratches and balls of fire.

Many details still clear in her mind, she wondered if it was some kind of super lucid dream. Her arm moving to grab her smartphone from the nightstand next to the bed without looking, nothing entered her hand after a while of reaching, she looked on her left and realized... the dream was still going strong.

"Nooooo, this can't still be happening" her breathing roughed and she looked around, trying to make sense of her situation. The past months had felt more like a dream, she never really was rested well enough to have the feeling of clarity. The idea of waking up one day as a pokemon had been a novel dream she had held ever since she was a kid, this however was not what she had in mind, she had never thought of the small intricate details of pokemon biology, behavior and ecosystem could be so game changing experience.

Hell, the time period she had transferred was really bad, the general population were still unwelcoming towards free roaming pokemon and the treatment they get is even worse. They are treated either as glorified pets or rabid animals to be thrown at threats, even the pokemon league is just fresh out of the oven. The only saving grace was that she happened to meet the young would be professor, who had a real respect and interests towards pokemon wellness and sense of their being a person, he treated his pokemon well, like one would treat a friend. He was indeed the expert on Human-Pokemon relationships.

Short existential crisis later, Anya clambered out of her bed, put on her ragged cloak and went downstairs. She would have thought that, Samuel would be at the sofa, to her surprise the whole house was empty. Noticing a piece of paper hanging from the fridge door by a magnet, she looked at it. It was a message meant to her written in Unown.

"Morning,

Sorry, I have something urgent to do today, I'll be back late afternoon.

ps. You can eat anything you find edible in the fridge.

pss. Please do not leave the house as people do not like to see a pokemon walking around without a trainer alongside them.

psss. If you really want to go outside, use the door under the stairs, behind the curtains, it goes to the backyard." Alongside the message there was a hastily drawn clock pointing around 4pm.

Anya had read the note and opened the fridge. She took out some fruit that resembled a banana and a thin piece of precooked meat, her salad from yesterday... The P-Salad had some kind of meat inside of it, the taste and texture was like chicken, but had a hint of something else in it. The salad did not cause her stomach to hurt, so she was still optimistic about meat.

Eating without a hurry in the world she looked at the clock hanging on the wall. It was a bit past 9 in the morning... She still had long time to go. Finished eating she cleaned up the table she had used. Wondering what she could do while Samuel was away, she decided to check the backyard. But before doing that she took all of the now dried clothes hanging around the room and fold them neatly into stacks. It didn't take long to clean up the clothes, she went to the stairs. No wonder she hadn't seen the backyard door while she cleaned, there was a tall pile of storage boxes under the stairs filled with what she could see were books of different kinds. As she moved them out of the way and checked behind the blue curtains. 'there really was a door...' she hummed happily.

She opened the door and used one of the boxes to hold it open, she wasn't sure if the door would lock automatically when closed and she didn't want to find out. The yard was quite large, the width was the same as the whole house but the area stretched for quite a bit longer, There even was a small dirt field on the other end, most likely meant for battle training. The edges of the whole yard was surrounded with over two meter tall overgrown hedges, grass growing everywhere where the snow was melted enough, the entrance to the house had a small wooden patio with a table and four chairs around it, there was even a small gas grill with an built in igniter tucked under a tarp. A path of stone slabs continued from the patio towards the other end of the yard, one could also see tall trees growing behind the far end hedge wall, his house was near a forest.

While looking at the grill Anya had an idea, she went inside and got herself a small pot full of water. She carefully carried it to the middle of the battle area, she then went to get the grill, She awkwardly carried the grill next to the pot of water. Adjusting the position of the grill and putting the pot of water on top, she carefully tried to operate the gas valve.

It was unimaginatively difficult to turn the valve with her cutter, eventually she used her silk to get a better grip on the valve. The gas was flowing and Anya pressed the igniter, the grill flared to life.

Anya went quickly back inside she had forgotten to bring something she could coil her silk with her and quickly rummaged through the house. She only found a bucket and hurried back outside, she went back to the grill and noticed the water was starting to boil, She looked around and saw that in the rear end of the yard, where the hedge met the forest, there was a piece of branch.

She quickly took hold of the branch, focused on her cutters and thinking about sharpness the cutters began to emanate white light. She then tested her cutter on the branch and easily cut a piece of it off. She then quickly stripped the brand and cut it to pieces, in the end she had a pile of crude but usable sticks. She calmed her cutters and hurriedly carried the sticks to the grill.

As she arrived back at the grill. She had forgotten to reduce the amount of gas, wasting precious fuel.

At first the silk she produced was thin but soon she found out that she could vary the properties of her silk by focusing on what she wanted to produce. Experimenting around she found out that modifying the silk she produced for a long time tired her surprisingly quick. In the end she decided on a thicker more durable silk to fix her clothes.

------------------

After filling all of the sticks with as much of silk as she could, she turned off the grill. Carried the bucket full of sticks with coils of silk, she had a lot of knitting to do. She was quite proud of her working speed, still remembering the first time she awkwardly did this, an errant thought arrived at her mind, one she didn't like that much, one that hinted at her lost of humanity and the appearance of the senses of a pokemon, a Leavanny in this case.

She shivered at the thought of her walking at the forest happily munching leaves and... and... becoming a pokemon in mind and body. She shook her head, and resolutely said "I might be a pokemon in body but always a human in mind! The moment I lose my humanity I lose everything I am...was..."

Slapping her face twice with the flat side of her cutters, she cleared her head and put her mind into making cloth. She had decided to show Samuel how great of a tailor she was, 'BEWARE the techniques of the FUTURE have arrived!' she thought while chuckling.

Using 'kaketsugi' mending to fix the multitude of hole in her cloak, cutting of the blackened parts and replacing them with a new piece of silk sewed into the cloak, she finally separated the cloak into the thinner layers. Oh how she wished she had this kind of working speed when she was a human, she still wasn't as fast as a loom or a sewing machine, but somehow she still was multiple time faster than a normal human by hand. Her enhanced senses and the accuracy of her cutters with the pokemon's natural 'hand' eye coordination.

The pieces of cloth were joined together by a masterful display of her skills and soon she had completed the first piece of her outfit design, It was a shame she couldn't draw or measure anything right now, she had to do everything approximately what her eyes told her.

Occasionally testing the clothes and re-making them to fit a bit better, Her abdomen section also brought her some trouble, as she was used to make clothes for the human body. Her own body was generally human-like, she had two jointed arms, two straight jointed legs, a very small torso and the most inhumane part of her, the abdomen which made things a bit difficult, she couldn't wear pants unless specifically designed to fit and had to have a hole around the midsection of the abdomen, tightened from the back instead of the front... Also her natural-ish leaf-like 'coverings' cause some design problems, but for now they have gently allowed themselves to be bent without damage.

Her mind wandered a bit on the pants design, while her hand automatically continued her work. Somehow she didn't have to concentrate too well, it was like a part of her body 'wanted' to do this. She took a mental note of it but it was going to have to wait for now.

She also took interest in her own leaf-like 'coverings' she had dubbed them. By gently rubbing her cutters on it did she find that the 'covering' in itself had a sense of touch and it felt extremely weird when she touched the inner walls of her abdominal cover. Even the ones around her head had some odd functions, they too were sensitive to touch and had a capability to sense vibrations in the air.

It seems like when she came to this world, she had not awakened everything immediately like she thought, she had noticed when she came to town that most of her 'new' senses were slowly becoming more and more active, It just happened so slowly and naturally that Anya hadn't really even noticed when she started using them. Only some things like her ability to produce silk from her mouth had forcibly been awakened. She wondered about 'What else had she missed changing in her body'.

It was getting dark outside and Anya had finished her new clothes, she looked at the clock and saw that it was already well over six in the evening, past the time Samuel said he would be back. Putting her new clothes into the washing machine and taking a quick shower, she dried herself and went back into the living room, wearing two towels around her, covering most of her body, Samuel was still missing, she mentally shrugged and went to the fridge to get something to eat.

While having her supper, she heard the door rattle, her body froze. 'Did someone want to sneak in using the front door?' The rattling continued for a while before a sound of a woman was heard. "Heyy, got the key? the door is locked" A short jingle later the door opened.

Anya stared at the doorway, seeing two figures entering the house, she recognized one of them to be Samuel, the other being a woman who was wearing Samuel's jacket, Anya released her breath she didn't know she was holding in relief.

Samuel and the unknown woman both wobbled into the room together, messily taking their shoes off and jackets, leaving them at the entrance. The woman looked gorgeous, a well endowed body with a tight butt, 'all natural' Anya thought, her hair was long, straight and ginger, height only a few centimeters shorter than Samuel, eyes sparkling bright green, she wore a long green one piece dress and had star shaped earrings swaying as she moved.

Moving forward, Samuel dropping his backpack and a plastic bag filled with stuff at the kitchen counter. He didn't even seem to notice Anya as he stumbled past her to the sofa, the woman following shortly afterwards sitting on top of his lap and initiating a deep kiss.

"Oh, Sam, How, I, had, missed, you" the woman said in between, Samuel just enjoying the moment and caressed the woman's hair and body.

Anya shocked at this sudden situation, emptied her plate into the trash, she had totally lost her appetite. She hurriedly went to the bathroom and removed her clothes from the washing machine and quickly rushed to the stairs, her speed going up even faster when she noticed a piece of female clothing littering the floor next to the stairs, the woman's daring purple underwear.

She went to her room and closed the door when the moaning started downstairs. She put her clothes and towels on the makeshift drying rack, before going to bed. 'Someone's gonna have a hell of a morning tomorrow' Anya thought lying in bed, while listening to a rhythmic thumping noise reverberating through the walls, her newfound senses 'enjoying' the exercise of finding new vibrations and sounds to spot.

The 'deed' went on for a while before quickly becoming silent, Anya could finally get her sleep in peace... Even though she wasn't really tired, she just did not want to go downstairs before tomorrow. 'The later, the better' she thought. Instead of sleeping she started examining her body to see if anything else was new, changed or plainly just different...
