"The offer was given to the professor" Giovanni was talking on the phone, his voice echoing in the empty office.
"He hasn't given us an answer yet but, due to his recent findings and the mysterious Pokémon known as Anya, I think we should start keeping a closer eye on him at all times." He said while shuffling some papers around on his desk, while a Persian was lounging next to him.
Giovanni was listening to the feminine voice heard on the other side, giving him some orders to which he answered in a neutral voice "Orders received, may the rocket guide us to the new heights" He said while the call ended, rubbed his eyes and shook his head, he was quite disappointed with the new orders he had gotten. He scoffed and cursed silently causing Persian to perk up a bit, before laying back down.
"That bitch, she really drives me crazy with this garbage" he silently voiced out his frustrations, before heading out, Persian following after him.

Back at the house of Oak, sun slowly descending behind the horizon.
Samuel had finally arrived back home, the trip had lasted a bit longer than he had hoped, catching up with his old friends and talking with other like-minded individuals took most of his time.
He opened the door to his house, he was greeted with an odd surprise, the whole house was lined with silk and cloth. A movement on top of Samuel caused him to look up, his gaze was met with the sleepy face of Faesol, who had woken up by the breeze that came in when the door opened, she was leaning from the inside of a cocoon-like hammock. The feline was startled when she recognized Samuel, she lost her balance, fell from the hammock, flipped in mid-air and Samuel unfortunately caught the surprised feline with his face.
With face full of Faesol, Samuel heard an oddly rhythmic chirping nearby, 'that must be Anya' he thought.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
The situation soon calmed with Faesol releasing her grip on Samuel's head and looked quite embarrassed, her face buried under a pile of pillows.
Soon after Anya was explaining to Samuel about the odd room arrangements, about how they were meant for Faesol to improve her jumps and coordination by bouncing from a springy hammock to another. But in reality Faesol just likes to use them as spots for naps, her favorite being the one on top of the door as it had a window that was in the sun most of the day.
The conversation went to Anya's research questions about how things work and what does Samuel know about the subjects. Samuel was intrigued by them. One of his favorites was, 'WHY DOES A WEAK POKEMON JUST FAINT WHEN HIT BY A HYPERBEAM AND NOT DIE?'
There were also some questions about how attacks like U-Turn and Baton Pass work in combat. Funny thing was that Samuel didn't know about the last technique mentioned and the former was an attack which reverses the users momentum to help disengage easily.
When questioned, Anya told Samuel what she knew, that the Baton Pass was a technique which allowed the user to exchange their boosts with another Pokémon.
They both felt like they were missing something as the answer was in the tip of their tongues.
Faesol wandered in and Anya asked her if she knew what she meant, to her surprise Faesol actually knew the answer.
The answer was in the thing Anya called 'battle mode', which when active gave the Pokémon an invisible shield that channels aura and when it runs out it creates a small protective burst of aura to repel any attack for a few seconds. Faesol explains that it is a gift given to all Pokémon by Arceus to promote friendly competition giving the Pokémon and choice to spare the other"
"Wow Feef" Anya said surprised "How do you know about that?"
The Espeon huffs
"I don't actually know... Weird, it somehow feels... right?"
"So in short, Pokemon have some kind of mercy Protect?"
Faesol tilted her head in puzzlement "..yes?"
Anya shared the information to Samuel, whose reaction was of a realization.
"That, makes so much sense!" Samuel exclaimed
"Its the reason why most if not all Pokémon have the capability to learn Protect."
"This has been a long standing question among the IRI researchers"
Faesol yawned, which was soon mirrored by the other two.
"Oh, it is already so late, time just flies it seems. It's been a rough day, I think I'll head to bed. We should continue this another day"
