Chapter 3

It has been a week since Anya had produced her first silk.

The forest pokemon have been actively avoiding Anya, this one she knew for sure.

There has not been any sighting of Humans as of yet either.

Anya was still in need of a source of fire and a pot to process her silk.

The past week she had been studying, slowly accepting of her new body and getting used to her new living environment, even her nightmares have calmed down in frequency. So she could at least get good night sleep once in a while.

Recently Anya had found a new hobby by using her voice, she knew that pokemon could make noises that sounded almost like words and the more animalistic sounds that fit animals and insects alike, so she had opened her voice once again, the only time before was that one where she met the Vulpix at the berry bush.

Her melodic chirping echoed through the forest as she sang, she couldn't pronounce words but she could at least hum the melodies. Also playing with her voice and a bit of practice she had managed to spell her name... For some reason all of the required letters of ANYA was inside LEAVANNY. She pondered that if that was the reason for her becoming a Leavanny she giggled when she thought that a person named LENNY might also become a Leavanny.

Anya sighed, she felt lonely. None of the forests pokemon were here, oh how she wanted to snuggle into the flank of that Vulpix.

That night she sat on a rock her feet dangling in the stream, she looked at the rising moon and sang somberly in a gentle melody.

"I was the light- behind- the door"

"Could have been sealed- forevermore"

"Weak as I was-"

"My light would seal- my misfortune"

"Again- I walked- the path- that burns"

"No matter how much it's gonna hurt"

"Because in the end"

"The nights are many"

"The lights are lone-ly-"

As Anya finished her song she heard a small rustle nearby, barely audible. At that moment she knew she had audience, at least someone had liked her song or curious enough to come looking.

She then stood up and headed back to her 'camp'. She smiled happily the whole way, arriving at her camp she laid down my her makeshift lean-to bed made of sticky silk, branches and leaves it was more comfortable than the solid floor and having a some cover from the wind and rain was better than none.

--------------------

Next morning Anya woke to a small surprise, someone was sniffing around her makeshift camp, most likely a pokemon looking for her food stash. Unlucky for them, she didn't have anything left from yesterday. Anya slowly stretched and yawned, turned towards the middle of her camp, there she spotted a pokemon, struggling stuck in her pile of leftover silk and leaves. Anya noted that the pokemon was a big purple rat with large buck teeth, a Rattata if you will.

Anya slowly walked towards the struggling rat. The Rattata noticed her approach and went into a full blown panic, Anya decided not to do anything and wait for the Rattata to calm down. Few minutes later the Rattata collapsed while panting, tired from its struggling. It was then that Anya went closer.

The rats eyes widened in panic as Anya's sickles closed on its face as the rat closed its eyes in resignation, waiting for the finishing blow... that never came. Only a silent cutting sound was heard as the Leavanny cut the sticky silk strings around it. A moment later the Rattata was free and confused. Anya watched for a while as the rat dashed and disappeared deep into the woods.

After cleaning the small mess, Anya also decided to get something to eat, she approached the nearby oran berry tree, kind of hoping to eat something else, these blue berries were slowly losing their taste. While plucking the second berry from the bush after eating the first, She heard a small yip in a nearby bush. Calmly she continued to eat the second berry.

The rustling continued for a while a nearby bush shaking all the while, then all of a sudden, three pokemon came stumbling out of it in a pile.

It was a surprise as of the three pokemon she recognised two of them, the Rattata from earlier today and the Vulpix from all those days ago the last pokemon was totally a surprise as a brown furred with a bushy grayish mane, pair of brown diamond shaped ears and a bushy tipped tail was no other than the evolution pokemon, Eevee.

The group all stared at the surprised leaf bug pokemon and she stared back astounded.

------------------------

A while earlier

The Rattata ran as fast as his leg allowed him to run, he had made a big mistake on a stupid dare he had made with his friends, he never should have let his friends talk him into sneaking into the giant bugs nest to look for stuff. He knew better than that, that bug-type pokemon are extremely territorial and dangerous, look at all the beedrills flying around decimating anyone who get close enough.

He mindlessly ran with no immediate destination, he knew these forests like the back of his paws, so no matter where he ran he could always find home.

The Rattata soon came to a stop, his two friends waited for his return at the meeting spot. He was supposed to go inside the giant bug nest and take something from it, preferrably a berry. Alas he had nothing on him to show when they met up.

He told Eevee and Vulpix about how the giant bug did not attack him even though he was trespassing its territory. Vulpix had said earlier when he had met it before that it was extremely aggressive and marking its territory with enormous sharp things? easily cutting into the hardest of trees, he himself had seen these marks before they were truly terrifying, oh how strong it must be.

"Hey, hey, hey, if you didn't find any berries there, then maybe it is going to the berry bush today!" Vulpix yipped excitedly

"I don't know, it looks so big and scary" Eevee countered.

"Don't be a wuss now, you need to show everyone how brave and mighty you are" Vulpix encouraged.

Then they both looked at the last member of their small group, Rattata, he gulped as he was left with the deciding vote.

"Come on Rattata, let's go!" Vulpix coaxed cheerily.

"Okay..." the Rattata answered overwhelmed.

-------------------------

"See I was right" Vulpix whispered to his friends while peeking through a bush.

"It haven't seen us yet?" Rattata questioned quietly

"Maybe, we should just get out of here" Eevee called timidly in a low voice

The trio watched the bug as it munched on an oran berry.

"Okay, maybe we have seen enough" Vulpix said while backing away suddenly only to bump his tail into his friends snout and causing Eevee to sneeze suddenly and make them all jump in surprise, but as they were retreating Vulpix stumbled and fell out of the bush with the other two following suit.

Now in front of the giant bug monster, all tangled together in a pile limbs they stared at each other.

--------------------------

"Well... hello there...?" Anya asked in bafflement, her head tilted to the side.

The trio stared at her in a growing panic.

a while passed where nothing happened, when suddenly a majestic large white furred fox appeared in a nearby bush with its nine tails gently swaying upright in the air.

The fox whom Anya identified as Ninetales had quickly inserted itself between the three and Anya. Taking a low prowl stance blue flames leaking at its mouth. This caused Anya to panic and raise her hands above her head, quickly flinging the berry on her 'hand' through the air. The Ninetales growled. Anya took a step back. The Vulpix yelped behind the Ninetales. The Ninetales turned its head to look at Vulpix who it was protecting, when it turned back only to be blindsided with a sudden hit to its face.

The color left Anya's face as she noticed that this might be taken as an act of aggression. The Ninetales was fuming, the juices evaporating into the air.

The Ninetales pounced, at the same time Anya had decided surrender.

Before the Ninetales got to her she shouted "I'm sorry!" and crashed to the ground in a melodic whimper.
