The morning came fast and Anya lied on bed. Due to her 'different' body shape, her legs part of her abdomen, she couldn't really lay or sleep on her back as if she did her legs would be propped a upwards and cause odd straining like forcibly bending your legs the wrong way.
She tried to distract herself from what she had seen yesterday evening. The pair being most likely intoxicated by alcohol and ignoring her existence, which most likely was a blessing in disguise.
Anya restlessly spun around the bed, her mind wandering around the room for something to do. Her eyes landed on her fixed clothes, hanging from the makeshift clothesline. She had forgotten to clean up the unused sheets and had left the grill in the middle of the yard.
She had had enough idling, hopefully the people downstairs had the decency to sleep with clothes on, though she too was sleeping 'naked' herself... Grabbing the hanging clothes and towels she went to the bathroom again. She took a quick shower, cleaned her up and wore her new set of clothes.
Now properly fitted, instead of wearing only a cloak to cover her body, she though she looked quite nice in the mirror, only wishing she had more variety of color to use. She had made a simple long hemmed, long sleeved silk shirt and a long dress that she had some difficulties putting on, it was designed so that it would not fall off and instead of being tightened around the waist it was just a loose piece that had a hole big enough to allow her head to fit through but small enough to get stuck at her abdomen right on top of her thighs.
She went downstairs and carried the used wet towels with her. From the stairs she could only see the sleeping Samuel, the woman from yesterday nowhere to be found. 'She seemed to have left very early' Anya though and went to the bathroom and put her towels on the washing machine, then she went to the fridge and took out two berries to eat.
Eating at the table she found the bag Samuel had dropped to the table, curious as she was she opened the bag and saw that Samuel had brought her a small brush, some paper canvas and bags of different colored powder what she assumed to be the paint dyes. She wondered why he had bought the other colors. Rummaging through the bag she at the very bottom she found a small angular glass object filled with black liquid, ink.
The powders weren't for painting, she mused. Her curiosity sated she munched on her breakfast happily, soon done she heard shuffling noise appearing nearby. Samuel had woken up, he slowly shuffled towards the toilet while holding his hand on his head, there was a thump as the door closed and soon after the shower went on.
--------------------
"Aggh, my head" Samuel grunted silently as he woke up, 'why did he have to drink yesterday' he thought. His head still not working correctly he slowly sat up on his sofa to soften the nausea caused from the reduced blood flow to his head. His head slumped as he rose up, slowly shuffling towards the bathroom.
He reached his destination and let himself into the bathtub, undressed and activated the shower. The moment the water hit his skin he jolted wide awake, it was refreshingly cold he thought and he screamed as soon he was hit with a wave of steaming hot water. Had he accidentally propped the tap into the wrong direction, he wasn't really sure.
Exiting the tub now feeling refreshed he noticed that there weren't any clean towels in the room, only two already wet towels inside the washing machine. He walked out of the bathtub, still wet and most definitely still naked.
The moment he left the bathroom his eyes were met up with the eyes of his new 'roommate', the pokemon looked at him starting from his legs and slowly going up to meet his eyes before shyly turning her head around in what he could only describe as embarrassment. It wasn't the reaction he had hoped for, his face flushed red and he went back inside the bathroom. Closing the door while saying "Can you please get me a dry towel from upstairs". He heard a quiet clack and sighed in relief.
He wasn't really sure how he had forgotten about her, She had lived with him for the past few days. He also was quite curious about the almost human reaction she had when she saw him, none of his pokemon ever had shown such a reaction, not a single one of them had any trouble with him being without clothes be they male or female, they were more disturbed by the addition of clothes at first but his team took it as a quirk of being a human. Just like Machokes gaining 'pants' during evolution for some reason, so human wearing clothes is treated the same as any other peculiarity amongst pokemon.
There was a knock on the bathroom door, Samuel still in his thoughts did nothing, soon the door opened a bit and a cutter holding a towel was showed through, nothing happened, there was a loud and clear chirp of annoyance his guest had made which caused Samuel to wake up from his short daydream. He took the offered towel and the door quickly shut after.
Samuel, now dry, wrapped a towel around his waist and walked out of the bathroom. He noticed a neatly folded stack of clean clothes next to the door. Had she left a set of clean clothes for him, he was speechless. Samuel looked around, trying to spot the peculiar bug-type, but couldn't see her nearby. He took the offered clothes and went back inside and put them on.
Now finally able to leave the bathroom, he looked for his guest, whose actions had surprised him almost every day. He noticed a small draft of cold air permeating the room, noticing that the backdoor was open and his best bet was that the bug-type was there too.
He opened the fridge, took out a bottle of juice and went to the back yard. There he saw Anya lounging on the snow free patio, happily basking in the sunlight, legs and arms pointing skyward moving around, as if drawing something.

"Hey" Samuel said, causing Anya's feelers to flicker. She rose to a forward sitting position, using her abdomen as a support, soon her face contorted a bit in unpleasantness and stood up.
Samuel hugged his body as outdoor temperature still wasn't warm enough for only a t-shirt. He had caught a glimpse of her earlier, but hadn't really noticed the new style of clothes she was wearing. "Those look good on you" he complimented to which she just giggled in a happy chitter while waving one of her cutter.
"Aren't you cold out here?" He asked and got a small nod in response. "Let's go inside, then..."
-----------------------
"I got you something" he said while taking the stuff out of the bag. "A brush, some canvas and ink" the he took out the five small and clear bottles full of different colored powders. White, Black, Red, Green and Blue. "These are dyes, by mixing different colors together you can get other colors, like mixing red and blue you get purple" Anya was overjoyed, she could finally get rid of the pure white aesthetic she had, even though she was becoming quite attached to her white visage.
"Now, we can finally start" He said while taking a sheet of canvas, the brush and the ink and set them up on the table. "We can finally try to let you communicate correctly" "I've been thinking, you don't really talk too much?" Which caused the Leavanny in question to tilt her head and open her mouth, She said "Lea le le le va nny va le" and pointed at her own mouth and then carefully tapped at Samuel's ear. Samuel answered "I don't understand either way..."
Anya's head slumped, she carefully coated her cutter with sticky silk and picked up the brush. She motioned towards the ink bottle and Samuel opened it.
She dipped the tip of the brush into the ink and brought it to the canvas. Samuel leaned closer and... nothing happened. At first Samuel though that something was wrong, but Anya lifted her head and looked at him and said "vA NY vA vanny" and carefully drew her first letter. Samuel's eyes widened as his mind finally broke the coded message, this was absolute proof that pokemon were more intelligent and sophisticated than he had ever thought.
The first letter being an English capped 'A', looking a bit crude as her skills with the brush weren't too great, at the very least her hand eye coordination was superb, problem being that the silk still gave in a bit causing her letter to be a bit sloppy looking. But it couldn't really be mistaken as anything else, she had noticed that the written alphabet is not exactly the Latin alphabet from earth but a variant of it using the Unown lettering, which she could still read fluently as long as she went with the flow of reading, the moment she stopped to inspect the letters her brain stumbles and causes her to lose the ability to read the script.
"That is 'A' Right?" to which Anya nodded. To this the future professor hurriedly took out the pen and paper that was still left on the kitchen counter. He wrote all of the alphabet in 'Unown'? 'Kantoan'? or 'Johtoan'? language... and mimicked the design Anya had drawn next to the local counterpart. She had forgotten that one of the local language was made of Unowns.
The whole morning went by as Samuel and Anya compared the letter and made a simple sheet of paper which showed each of the letter side by side, Anya noticed that the local Unown language didn't have the lower cap versions of letters.
The basic alphabet were done, now that they finally had the common ground for understanding she finally wrote awkwardly on a blank canvas.
'MY NAME IS ANYA' was written in all capped Latin alphabet. Samuel stared at the fresh canvas filled with a series of understandable letters. Before he could ask her any questions she continued to slowly draw more letters. Samuel let her continue undisturbed, he still occasionally looked at the translation sheet in fascination.
'SPECIES LEAVANNY' intentionally skipping some unnecessary words as her cutter fell tiredly to rest at the table.
Samuel quickly translated the text into the Unown script even though he could easily read the mysterious written language the pokemon was using to communicate. It's similarities with the internationally understood Unown script was unbelievable, 'maybe pokemon really have their own written language' Samuel though.
The pokemon, he now identified as Anya the Leavanny, cut the silk holding the brush, put the brush on the holder, stretched her arms and legs. She had been standing for hours without really moving and concentrating heavily not to make any glaring error's in her writings, the amount of pressure increased when she noticed that Samuel was curiously copying her crudely made up letters and most likely making the mistakes part of the real translation. Which was not ideal for her.
Anya walked around and decided to go to the back yard, somehow being in the sunlight energized her and her body felt content. Basking in the last lights of the day, she wondered if she could photosynthesize as she 'is' grass type and 'has' green leaves. The forest she lived through the winter was too roofed to get noticeable sunlight or her senses to sunlight weren't active at the time. Both reason's could be true and she had no way of knowing.
--------------------
"Agatha, I'm scared" Samuel said on the phone
"What!? Where did that come from"
"The pokemon are smart, too smart in fact"
"What are you talking about? My Gengar is stupid as a truck"
"Maybe... He is faking it?"
"No. Way. I've been with him since he was still a Ghastly, I know his limits"
"Okay, okay, Maybe not all of them are super smart..."
"Remember the Bug-Type I talked about last time..."
"Yeah, the white cloaked 'ghost', who saved your life, who could forget"
"She has lived with me for a few days, she knows how to operate showers, toilets and washing machines. Just today she left a clean set of clothes in front of the bathroom when I forgot to bring any."
"That... sound quite odd"
"and that is not all. Today she showed me a new set of clothes"
"and?"
"They were made so well, I could have though it was made by a professional tailor. Except th-there weren't any seams, the whole long sleeved white shirt was a singular piece all fused naturally together, she had even made a long skirt..."
Agatha went silent, Samuel just continued
"Finally, you shouldn't tell anyone, I mean ANYONE about what I am going to say next. She knows how to READ and WRITE, with a script I have NEVER seen before..."
"Okay..." The heavy air around both ends of the phone call stilled the conversation, They both stood in silence for a moment before Agatha finally said something
"Sam, I would like to meet that bug-type myself, Be a friend and take her with you to the Indigo League when you have your official ceremony. It should be in a few days right? Are you prepared?"
"Her name is Anya and yes I have been ready for the past week"
"Oh, you named one of your pokemon?" Agatha questioned, it was odd of him, as he had never done that before.
"No" He answered "She told me herself"
"... You know, you need to bring her with you. I gotta go" The line abruptly cut off.
