The winter is in full swing, the forest is coated in a deep layer of snow and frost.
Anya had decided to take a stroll and was moving along the stream, she had no destination in mind as she just wanted to better her walking abilities.
Even though it has been around two months with her new body, her walking wasn't exactly as stable as she would have liked having to every now and then to catch her balance.
She hummed a happy tune as she walked through the snowy painting like landscape. With her latest tumble she actually tripped on something, an odd mound barely covered in snow.
Getting up she noticed that the mound was softly moving up and down, breaking the snows surface every now and then. It didn't take long for her to realize that she was looking at a human, a shivering human. Anya's body jolted, her mind raced and she knew she did not have much time. The human would be dead if nothing was done, Anya took of few layers of her silk coat, she bundled them up and tied them around the human's armpits, and started pulling as much as she could, noticing that the human was either lighter than she though or she was stronger than she thought thanks to her pokemon physicality.
In all of the hustle, Anya took the human to the burrow and dragged it deep inside, at the end of the burrow she found Ninetales, Eevee and Vulpix all staring at her dumbfounded, Ninetales growled a bit and shouted "YOU BROUGHT A HUMAN TO MY HOME!" flames flickering in anger out of her mouth.
This shout jolted Anya out of her panic and she realized she had made a mistake.
"I am sorry!" she shouted back "I just couldn't leave him! He would have died in the cold!"
The body still shivering even in the shelter of the burrow, something needed to be done. An idea popped in Anya's head, She carefully removed the humans wet backpack and used her silk to coat the Human with multiple thick layers of sticky silk, she knew it would at least warm him some.
"Ninetales, could you please start up the fireplace, he needs warmth"
Ninetales did not respond as he glared at the human, ignoring everything else around him. Suddenly the fireplace was lighted, Anya looked at Vulpix who looked proud to lit the fire.
"Thanks Vulpix"
She then looked at the backpack.

Samuel was exploring the nearby forest, he used the stream to keep track where he was at the time, he knew the forest were very dangerous during the summer as the local Beedrill hives were super territorial. The only time the forest could be easily traversed is during the winter when the colonies were hibernating.
Even a strong trainer like himself did not want to fight hundreds if not thousands of angry Beedrill, there is only so much he could do.
Deep in his thoughts, Samuel had slipped and hit his head, causing him to lose consciousness.
Samuel woke up momentarily when someone was dragging him, his blurry vision only managed to see a moving white silhouette against the darkening sky.
Next time he came to, he was greeted with an open flame of a small campfire in a cave of sorts, he could not move his body at all, he could only look around, he saw a Ninetales glaring at him, hatred flashing in those red eyes. In the flickering of the campfire's dim light Samuel also recognized a Vulpix and an Eevee hiding under the tails of the Ninetales.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Listening closely he could hear the rustling of paper and noticed that a person in a snow white cloak was facing away from him and reading something. He opened his mouth to thank the person.
"Hey, thank you for rescuing me, If you would be so kind and untie me, this position isn't exactly comfortable to lie in." Samuel had also noticed the pure white cushions spread around the room, each and everyone of them slightly different in size and shape.
The white figure slowly turned towards him, his shock was indescribable when red orbs met his own eyes. 'It is a pokemon!' his mind shouted. An uneasiness spread through his body as the bug slowly walked towards him. It had his journal on white cloth covered cutters. It looked deeply into his eyes, Samuel captivated by her gaze.
After a while, it finally made a clear melodic noise "Lea-Leavanny!" while pointing him with one of its arms.
"I am sorry, I do not understand you" Samuel answered, his knowledge of its expressions is non-existent.
The bug shook its head and opened his journal in front of him. It opened a page and pointed to a series of letters in Unown script 'HURT' while gesturing with its other arm at him.
Samuel was so shocked that his mouth was open in surprise, this, this was the first known pokemon to be capable of reading words! 'This is revolutionary!' he thought. Soon he came to his senses and told the bug "No, I am not hurt" while shaking his head as much as he could.
The bug type visibly sighed in relief or that is what it looked like in oddly exaggerated motions.
The Ninetales ruffed "Ni-Nine" and the bug nodded its head "Vanny-Nya".
The bug then put his journal back into his backpack and walked towards him. This time it took a piece of cloth from somewhere, it had multiple layers to make it thick. It then sadly gestured the cloth, his eyes, its eyes and lastly the burrow like cave. Not knowing what it meant Samuel shook his head and told "I do not understand what you mean".
The bug crept closer and covered his eyes with the white cloth, his world went dark and soon enough there was a tug on his back. Surprised about the sudden contact in the darkness, he let out a grunt, he wished he had his trusty pokemon with him. After few bumps during the dragging, he was hit by a sudden cold breeze, they were outside again...
Samuel wondered and thought hard, he had no idea where they were taking him.
After an undetermined amount of time they stopped, the cloth was soon take out of his eyes and he could finally see again. What he saw was the familiar stream in front of him. He also could hear a ripping sound and a sudden wave of coldness invading his backside.
Then all of a sudden he was free, the cocoon opening in front of him. He slowly got up and looked around, His eyes met the red orbs of the bug's. It was carrying his backpack and dropped it gracefully, taking a few steps back and most likely gesturing him the direction which to go.
Now that they were outside, Samuel could see that the white layers on top of the pokemon seemed not to be part of the pokemon itself and were most likely made to or by her to survive in the harsh coldness of winter as most bug-types were unable to stay awake in the cold.
Samuel took a look in his backpack and noticed that everything was still there even if slightly different place than before, he then put it on his back and looked towards the weird bug, who waved at him, acting surprisingly human for a pokemon. Samuel waved back and left.

'That was nerve wracking' Anya thought while watching the human leave. Who would have though that she would stumble upon the one and only Samuel Oak, the world famous pokemon professor or at least he was going to be. Anya had read through Samuel's journal and noticed that he isn't yet THE pokemon professor but a recently retired world class pokemon trainer who was wandering and exploring the Kanto and Johto Regions to become a professor. Judging from the journals latest entries it seems this forest is near Pallet town, Oak's current home and future laboratory location.
This opens up a lot of options for Anya's future, as the world is still young and information about pokemon is scarce, She could be the missing link, She could help the young professor and gain everything she needed through him. Anya smiled while watching Samuel's back slowly disappear into the horizon.
