Max: Woohoo! Alright! That was awesome.
Max prepared high fives for Ken and Rose, which they both accepted.
Tiffany: Great job, but it's not over yet.
Ken: Hmph.
The spider bot pulled itself out of the rubble and shook its head and turned to them.
Ken: Although, that should buy us some time.
Max: Yeah.
Rose: Great thinking, Tiff.
Tiffany: Hmph.
Tiffany looked into her rear view mirror and realised that the robot was no longer following them. It simply stared at them from a distance.
Tiffany: Uhhh... Ken? It's not...
Ken: I see.
Max and Rose watched as Ken grabbed the robo spider piece and immediately started scanning it.
Ken: Hmmm... No significant changes to its basic functions.
Max: Huh. Then why'd it stop?
Rose: Hmmmm.
Tiffany: Is it tired of chasing us? Should I slow down the van? We do need to lead it out of here and... wait
It was at that point that Tiffany noticed that the robo spider "squatted" and then jumped to an incredible height.
Max: Woah!
Tiffany: Oh no.
Rose: Oh my gosh!
Ken: This just gets more and more interesting with every second.
It disappeared from their view.
Tiffany: Ken?
Ken: It's...
Ken paused before continuing.
Ken: ...right above us.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The robo spider landed directly in front of them, and its round head rotated to face them.
Rose gulped.
Ken: Oh boy.
Tiffany got on the wheel and turned aggressively as the spider bots pointed feet tried to stab at them.
Rose: Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!
Tiffany: Hang on!
The spider bot's feet made severe slashes at the side of the van. The rear view mirror on the left side fell off, the sides of the van were scratched and a single leg pierced straight through the back of the van, narrowly missing killing Max, Rose, Luke and or Ken.
Rose: Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!
Max: Sheesh.
Ken: This thing...
Max prepared to electrocute it again, but he couldn't get a clear shot given how much Tiffany was turning the car.
Tiffany: Rose! The van!
Rose: Huh! Oh, right!
Rose used her psychic powers to move the van further ahead and to dodge the spider's pointed legs.
Tiffany stepped on the gas again and tried to speed away as the spider bot gained on them yet again.
Max fired another bolt at it.
Ken: 300 bots remaining.
Max: Alright.
The spider bot had already grown smaller physically. It was now about 3 fifths of its original size. It still towered over even the van, but not by as much this time.
Tiffany: Ken. How far till we reach the desert region?
Ken: About 3 minutes.
Tiffany let out a sigh of relief. It would soon be over.
Ken: And, I have a plan.
Tiffany: You do?
Ken: Hmph. Just follow my lead.
They all nodded in response as Max started to, rather than fire bolts, absorb electricity from the spider bot in a bluish sparkling vapour.
Ken: Alright. For my first trick....
Tiffany had so far reached the border of the area. The desert sands were in sight.
Ken: ... I would like us all to repeat what Tiffany had us do earlier.
Max: Huh?
Rose: But what if it jumps again?
Ken: I'm counting on it.
They all looked at him for a second.
Max: Alright.
Rose: Huh. You're just going along with it?
Max: Yeah. Truth is, I don't really get it.... but you guys ain't half bad.
Rose: Max...
Max: So I'll follow your orders, Ken.
Ken: Hmph.
Rose: Alright. I'll help, too!
Tiffany: Alright Ken, lead the way. I suppose you aren't planning on explaining this to us?
Ken: No, it'll take too long.
Tiffany: Fine. Get ready, guys.
Max, Rose, and Ken stared down the robo spider.
Max prepared an electric bolt, Rose honed her powers, and Ken's eyes turned red.
Ken: In order for this plan to work, I'll need you all to fire attacks at both legs.
Max: Both legs?
Ken: Yes.
Rose: But why?
Ken: This thing learns at an incredible pace. And so I figure one leg won't be enough this time.
Rose: But....
Ken: You'll be most important in this plan, dear Rose.
Rose: I... I will?
Ken: Absolutely. In fact, while tripping it, don't over exert yourself.
Rose: Ok.
Max: What about me?
Ken: Do what you always seem to do. Give it your all!
Max: Alright.
Max ferociously charged two electric bolts. One on his left and one on his right.
Max: I'm ready.
Ken's eyes began to glow red.
Ken: As am I.
Rose: Ok, I'm ready.
Luke looked back at his friends but chose not to get up just yet. He could sense that something was about to happen.
They entered the desert region. It was a single stretch of road with desert sands on both sides.
Tiffany: We're here!
