Max: Sheesh.
His lightning bolt didn't do nearly enough. And so, he fired some more.
Tiffany: Max! Stop! Get inside! It's dangerous.
Ken: She's right. Your bolts aren't working. We should think of a better plan.
Max: No way!
Ken and Tiffany: Huh?
Max: If we don't do something, we'll be fried....
Ken: But...
Max: But nothing. We've gotta take this thing down somehow, right?
He fired more bolts at it, one after the other. However, the robot continued to charge up its next blast irregardless, all the while gaining on them.
Luke made the turn just in the nick of time yet again, leaving yet another destroyed building in the robot's wake, as it turned again right after them.
Luke: He's right, there isn't another turn for a while, and this road is pretty narrow.
Tiffany: Tch...
Tiffany desperately thought of another solution.
Max: C'mon, c'mon, c'mon....
Max continued to fire off lightning bolts as the robot continued to chase after them.
This time, it was almost on top of them, and its pointed legs threatened to impale the van more and more with every step.
Luke struggled with his control over the van, trying to get it to go faster as the turn was close by.
Luke: C'mon...
Rose watched Max continue to fire off electricity.
It was then that the spider bot was keeping up with them, its head directly over the van. The spider bot, however, shortly after, seemingly tripped itself and fell down behind them with a massive thud that almost hit them.
That was Rose's doing.
Max: Huh?

Rose: Ummm... I'm sorry, I should have been more....
Max: No way. That was awesome.
Rose: Really, you think so?
Max: Yeah!
The robot, while on the ground, turned its head and prepared yet another laser that fired just as Luke made a turn.
Luke: Great job. But it's not down yet.
Max: Yeah.
Max turned back to the opened back door as sounds of it getting back up were heard.
Luke: We need a plan, now!
Luke looked back at Tiffany with a stern glare, as if to say, focus.
Tiffany took a quick, deep breath. She needed to stop worrying about Max. That was what he was saying. She knew that well, but how could she?
Ken grabbed the spider bot half he had and started tinkering with it again.
Ken: Well, I suppose I can't let the both of you have all the fun.
Tiffany: Ken...
Ken: I know it will take a while to shut it down, but perhaps I can at least mess with it to some degree remotely.
Tiffany looked back at the rest of her team. Rose was looking back at the giant robot spider as it emerged from the corner, chasing after them, Luke was driving to the best of his ability and Ken was trying his hardest to be of some use to the team.
She clenched her fist before coming up with a plan.
Tiffany: Alright, guys, here's the plan.
They all turned to her attentively, except Max, who kept his eyes on the robot.
Tiffany: Rose, use your psychic powers to keep it busy for as long as possible. Focus on sudden pushing attacks to its legs just like your last one.
Rose: Right.
Tiffany: And alert us if we just so happen to be near a populated area.
Rose: Hmph.
Tiffany: Ken! I need you to map out a path to the most deserted place you can find while you work. Preferably as far from the city as possible.
Ken: On it, chief.
Tiffany: I'll also need you to disable all audio and video devices while we pass through the city.
Ken: (smirking) My, that's almost too difficult.
Tiffany: Luke!
Luke: Yeah?
Tiffany: Just focus entirely on the road. Leave the rest to us.
Luke: You got it.
Tiffany: And Max?
Max: Yeah.
The words struggled to come out of her mouth.
Tiffany: I want you to keep doing what you were doing.
Max: Huh?
Max paused for a second before continuing.
Max: You got it! Wait! Does that make me a part of the team?
Tiffany did not answer for a second as the whole team looked at her.
Tiffany: Ugh. Not yet.
Rose closed her mouth and smiled.
The spider bot was closing in on them once more.
Rose: Guys....
As the robot approached them, Max continued to fire bolts at it.
Ken: Luke! According to reports, the freedom highway just around the city outskirts is completely deserted at the moment.
Luke: That place? It's like a desert out there.
Tiffany: Good job, Ken.
Ken: Hmph.
Tiffany: Any updates on the bot?
Ken: Not much. But I think I might just be able to disable the robots laser function. But I'll need a bit more time.
Tiffany: Right. Focus on that for now.
As the electric bolts were fired left and right, Rose kept her mind on searching for living life forms in the vicinity. Just to make sure they didn't end up dragging the robot towards civillians.
Tiffany looked upon her team for a moment. She didn't like to admit it, but in a sense, Max had somehow reignited their will to fight.
