Max finally opened his mouth and exhaled before trying his feel on the ground.
Luke: You good?
Max stomped his feet on the ground.
Max: No way.
He felt almost no pain from his legs.
Ken: Hmph. That was the expected result.
Max: But how?
Ken: Hmm? Cryotherapy has been a thing for a long time now. It helps heal muscles that have just been through incredibly strenuous exercise. In fact, a certain someone has needed such assistance quite regularly.
Max: Huh? No kidding. (thinking: Certain someone? Does he mean Tiffany?)
Max wiggled his feet in the air. He hardly felt any pain.
Max: Thanks.
Ken: Don't mention it.
Luke got the chair, and Ken opened the door so they could return said chair as well as head to the showers faster.
Luke: Come on, let's huff it. We still need to eat lunch.
Ken: Yeah.
The trio rushed over to the showers.
Back with the girls.
Rose and Tiffany had already finished showering and were now drying their hair while in towels alongside other girls.
Rose: I mean, I like Max. But not like that.
Tiffany: Uh huh.
Tiffany and Rose wrapped their hair in smaller towels before heading off to properly dry off.
Rose: But also, I really like how brave he is.
Tiffany: Uh huh.
Rose: So, what do you think of him?
Tiffany: Huh?
Rose: I mean, I'm just asking.
Tiffany: (sighs) I'm not interested in him.

Rose: Oh great! I mean, oh... I mean...
Tiffany sighed again.
Tiffany: It's fine.
Rose: Is there someone you're interested in?
Tiffany paused for a moment and held her hands together, and looked at the ground as though she was deep in thought.
Rose: Tiff?
Tiffany: It's fine. It's nothing. Let's just go eat. I'm starving.
Rose: Ok...
Rose followed after Tiffany, who promptly went to get changed. Moments later, they arose from the girls' locker room, fully clothed, with plenty of time before the lunch period ended.
Tiffany: We're early. The guys will be late.
Rose: Yeah, but it's ok. I don't mind waiting.
Tiffany: Yeah.
Tiffany sighed.
Sometime later, Max, stretching his arms, left the boys' locker room. They were the last guys who took a shower as a result of them coming late.
Ken came out next, and Luke followed at last.
Max let out a yawn.
Max: Man, I'm beat. Hey Ken, what do we have after lunch?
Ken: Its Biology.
Max: Oh.
Luke: (sighs) Great.
Just after Luke said that, a large number of emotionally broken looking muddy and sweaty students came from the sports field.
Max: Huh?
All of them could barely walk, and they kept their gaze away from them.
Max: What's going on? Are those...?
Ken: The ones who failed? Yes. Keep that in mind every time you enter gym class.
Luke: Just don't fail gym class... ever!
Max gulped as the teens slowly walked into the locker room.
The trio then made for the lunch room.
Max: You think the girls will wait for us?
Ken: Absolutely.
The trio walked to the mess hall and found Rose and Tiffany waiting outside.
Rose: They're here!
Tiffany: You guys are finally done.
Luke: Yeah, sorry. You know how it is with, you know.
Tiffany: It's alright.
Rose: Are you ok, Max?
Max: Yeah, thanks to Ken. I still can't believe that worked. By the way, Ken. What other powers do...
Tiffany: Shhh!
Max: Oh, right, right...
Luke: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get in and eat.
Rose: (giggle) You never change, Luke.
Luke grinned as he opened the door.
They, as usual, stayed in line with Luke and Tiffany as they got their meal.
Roast beef, with a generous side of potato slices and salad. And as usual, they all sat down to enjoy their meal together.
Rose: Bon appetit, everyone.
Max: Thanks.
Ken: Ditto.
Tiffany: You too.
Luke: Alright, let's eat.
Luke had scarcely taken in a bite of his food before the T.V screen in the mess hall suddenly and loudly lit up.

The rest of the class began to murmur before being harshly shushed by the other students. Short videos were shown of black quadrapedal orbs with red eyes and long spider like legs.
The bots themselves were about the size of a dog. However, each bot was shown to fire off lasers from the large, single, red eye in front of their heads.
