Tiffany had grown tired of calling for Ken and had made it her personal mission to find him herself.
She made her way to the van only to be stopped by Ken, who quickly got out.
Tiffany: Ken! What's....
She wanted to continue, but the shocked look on Ken's face stopped her immediately.
Tiffany: Ken?
Ken remained speechless, watching the spider bots as they paradoxically stopped moving.
Max fired a few more bolts before he paused and realised that the bots had stopped firing lasers and were no longer approaching them.
Max: Huh.
Luke crushed a few more but also stopped when he saw the others in front of him simply stay in place.
Luke: What?
Rose sent several more of them flying with a psychic push but was also shocked to see them stop moving.
Rose: Uhhh.... guys.
There was only one logical answer, they all thought.
Luke: Ken, did you shut them down?
Ken did not answer.
Tiffany: Ken?
Ken flinched for a moment before starting.
Ken: We need to leave. Now!
Tiffany: Huh.
Max: Hey. I got this, remember.
Luke: Hey, what's going on?
Rose: Is everything ok, Ken?
Rose, Luke, and Max approached Ken.
Luke: What's the matter?
Ken simply pointed at X-corp. The spider bots on the ground were not moving. However, the ones in X-corp were steadily climbing down.

Luke: So you didn't shut them down. Alright then.
Luke was about to take a step forward when all of a sudden, Ken stopped him.
Luke: Hey.
Ken: Those nano bots...
Luke: Huh?
As the spider bots from X-corp settled down on the ground, they quickly began to climb the bots that were already on the ground.
Ken: Whoever made these bots....
As the bots climbed onto each other, they began to leak nanobots in a sort of semi fluid pattern, almost as if melting.
They all watched in shock as a brilliant vortex of black and red dots slowly formed out of the spider bots. The vortex sucked up even the spider bots that Max had shot down.
Max: What's going on!
Ken: We need to leave... now!
Luke: In the van, now!
They all ran into the van. Luke as the driver, Tiffany riding shotgun and the other three in the back.
The van immediately started as they all watched from the van as the vortex slowly began to take shape.
Luke: Ken, what is that thing!
Ken: It's called Amalgamate.
Luke: Huh.
Max: What's that?
Ken: It's a command. Basically, the nanobots forge themselves together to form a much bigger spider bot.
Max: Bigger?
Ken: About 500 times as big as the original.
From the vortex, a heavy foot step could be heard falling to the ground.
Tiffany: Luke?
Luke: I got it.
Luke started driving away as the other feet landed on the ground. They were about 100 feet away when all four feet were on the ground.
Luke turned to his rear view mirror to gaze upon the beast.
It was much bigger, alright. Several times bigger.
Luke: Oh, boy.
Max looked at the mirror himself, as did Rose, Ken, and Tiffany.
Together, they all beheld it.
A giant several foot tall spider bot, just like the original in shape and size. Luke hurried to the corner to make a turn as its red eye began to glow red.
Ken: Luke?
Luke: I'm on it.
The van turned just in time for the robot to fire a devastating blast at them all, which just barely missed, but also decimated the entire medium-sized building in the way.
Max: Woah!
Rose: Eeep!
From the rear view mirror, they saw the devastation, as the spider bot simply and almost automatically made for the van.
Tiffany: It's coming.
Luke stepped on it as the robot continued after them in its usual fashion. It was tall. Not as tall as most sky scrapers, but tall enough that it towered over them. What's more, it wasn't a slouch.
It rushed at them at a terrifying speed and, after the turn, was soon gaining on them.
Max: You've gotta be kidding me. This thing is fast!
Luke kept his eyes on the robot's single red eye as he drove. He could not afford to let the team get hit by any of those blasts.
Rose: What are we gonna do?
The robot would soon be upon them.
The rest of the team remained silent for a moment. All of them thinking of a way out of that situation while Luke hurried the van to the next turn.
Suddenly, however, it was Max that made up his mind.
Max: Rose, Ken. Hold on!
Max opened the van back door, much to everyone's shock.
Rose: Max!
Tiffany: No, stop!
Yet again, he put himself in harm's way.
Max simply charged up an electric bolt and fired it at the giant robot, but, only a small number of nano bots in a sort of semi solid slosh could be seen falling off before the robot self repaired and started charging another laser.
