Following the events of "The Beginning," Max finds himself struggling with the consequences of his actions on his first day of school, as well as reaping hardly any awards from them. And then later, a peculiar enemy attacks an  unexpected location for an even more surprising purpose. This chapter is called "With Much Deliberation." *** In spite of his actions on Monday night, Max still finds himself unable to join this team, having been rejected by Tiffany Chang and the others. And to top it all off, it would seem that his actions in Hypercity High have left him the target of bullying in more ways than one, to say nothing of him getting in trouble with the principal.
