Chapter 30, H.O.T.D 2

After discussing the abilities of Team Kenya which they knew of, Shin brought forth an important topic and a decision which had to be made. No, in a way the idea and decision were both from Team Kenya's Badru and they had no room to argue back. Badru before he left told said that they should trade their newbies. Team Kenya confirmed they had at least three Newbies who weren't qualified to become a part of his team, so he proposed a trade with Team Japan. Badru on the surface was nonchalant about the trading and killing of Newbies, yet Shin and those present felt a underline message that this proposal was non-negotiable, so Team Japan needed to talk out the finner details and the risk involved of this mutual trade.

Shin: "Putting aside what would happen if we refuse this trade, I'm for one for it. Our Newbies neither have the talent nor the will to join our team. We've woken them up from their medically induced sleep several times, but nothing they said, or yelled at us has made me feel otherwise about their potential. Badru has already said how it will go down. He will leave a car loaded with three Newbies at coordinates xxxx from Tokonosu City for us to kill. We will then drive a car out to xxxx and Team Kenya will kill our Newbies. These coordinates aren't very far off and we don't have to risk questions from the main characters or the army about our actions for being gone for too long. What does everyone think?"

Jin: "...So you're worried Team Kenya's leader will attack us immediately if we don't do the trade, or cheat them, right? Well, you're not wrong. To avoid that monster who left you a live on a whim, or to just appease him to hold back till we're ready for him we have no choice but to trade Newbies. This is better than a one sided exchange, so there's no reason to turn it down. Our Newbies as Shin would say do not posses the will or talent to become a part of Team Japan, so it's better to trade them off for the points and rank rewards. Long as both sides kill three newbies for the other team, the Team Score will remain the same as it was now, us +1 and Team Kenya -1, yet we'll be able to keep the individual rewards. That's 6000 Points and B rank reward for free!"

Drake: "Jin, you're so excited about trading Newbies that you're almost as frightening as Sachi when she has that glint in her eye about inflicting pain. So how can we be sure that Badru, the Reaper of Blood Crusade, will he keep his promise?"

Aqua: "It doesn't matter. This may be a trade beneficial to both teams, but we have certainly not come to a agreement to work together or not kill each other. From Shin's words Team Kenya's leader is just playing around with us. His prey! Mostly likely he will keep his promise to hand over three Newbies, but he won't think of it as a big deal to offer us points seeing as he plans to kill us all later."

Jin: "I agree. Our opponent, or at least one of them is extremely powerful, but simple in nature. So rather than thinking about a betrayal, we should think about the rewards. We don't plan to die after all. Shin, you're our leader, so how will we distribute the rewards?"

Shin: "...If we're seriously doing this... then I first have to say that I don't immediately need these lesser points and rewards. My mutation and energy are too high level, so I'm planning to start saving up for A tier and higher exchanges unless something happens. Though I do want to exchange for some support skills like healing, martial arts, and sword skills, but I've already have the rewards to get them whenever I choose to. What I wish to save up for are exchanges like the SSS Rated One-Eyed Ghoul Mutation requiring two A rank rewards (The final One-eyed King needs a S rank reward which you can't save up). I also need to two A rank rewards for my Ki. Since I've already chosen my cultivation manual and I don't want to get a new one later, I can only enhance my Ki through consumable items. In the future I plan to get the One Moon Divine Pill and the Chaotic Dragon Rebirth Pill. These will help me fill the gaps from getting a cultivation manual early on and really round out my powers. My point is that while I could use the 6,000 and B rank reward, I don't desperately need it. As for who needs it... it would have to be Hikari, Connor, Kisara, or Sachi. Hikari and Connor need a B rank reward to advance their mutations. Sachi needs one for her energy. Kisara could use the rewards for either her mutation or energy. Unless someone here wants to get a C or CC tier skill or item later, we should give the rewards to one of these four."

Aqua had the same problem as myself and her enhancements were too high for a single B rank reward to improve. The same was true for Shuai and Drake who had energies already at B tier, yet they weren't interested in acquiring a mutation just yet. No one objected to my logic and so we asked the people in question. Hikari, Connor, Kisara and Sachi. The first to speak up Kisara.

Kisara: "I'm fine without it. I'm still getting used to my enhancements. I've also just unlocked my Volt Weapon, so I already feel that I've upgraded my powers quite a bit recently. I want to master it a bit more first, yet increasing my enhancements further will make it harder. I still only have the First Stage after all."

Sachi: "I'll pass as well. While I'll love to exchange for Advance Ki so I can use the infusion Needles to their full potential, I'm in no rush. The Infusion Needles are also consumable items once you rank up to B tier energy, so I would rather be in a position to exchange for the BB rank unlimited set of Infusion Needles. That's why just a B rank reward would go to waste on me. If possible I want a A rank reward for my enhancements."

Shin: "I see... Hikari, Connor, how about sharing the rewards? I don't mean splitting the rewards per kill. Connor will keep the rank rewards and Hikari the points. Connor only needs the rank reward for most Demonic related exchanges from God, so points don't have that much value for you like the rest of us. Connor will kill the three Newbies Team Kenya plan to bring over. When we get back he will use the B rank reward to upgrade his Demon Mutation to B tier, and will then bestow 6000 points and an additional 3000 points to Hikari. She can then either use those points and her own saved up rewards to exchange a high level skill, weapon, or just use the points to increase her Mental Capacity by 900 stat points."

Connor: "That's fine."

Hikari: "I'm fine with that as well, but isn't this a pointless discussion, Shin? You can just kill the Newbies and spread his points as he pleases thanks to his special leader position."

Shin: "Yeah, well, what happens if I die? That Badru guy is a monster. Like I said in a one on one fight I don't feel that I'll win. He's not all muscle, but a true warriors who knows how to wield his power and he hasn't revealed his full potential just yet. At best I have a 20% chance beating him, so everyone other than Aqua's chances of survival are slim to none. When he comes back someone will have to stop him, and..."

Hikari: "..."

Aqua: "...Well its best to be prepared, so we'll distribute the points as Shin suggested, but that doesn't mean it's okay for you to kick the bucket. I won't be picking up your body along with your leader position, so stay alive if only to keep such a responsibility away from me."

Shin: "...If nothing else, huh?"

Kisara: "We won't let you die! I won't let you die! If that man is so dangerous I'll kill him myself!"

Jin: "No, we'll kill him. If Shin doesn't think he can take him one on one, then we just won't do that. We just need to come up with a good plan to force him out of the battle, or to surrounded and pick him off like before. I doubt he's so powerful he can take everyone in Team Japan. Also, in a pinch we have Aqua's transformed wolf state, "Silver Fang", as she has gotten around to calling it as of late."

Aqua: "Yeah, but don't expect me to have full control over THAT. With Focused State of Mind, I can transform at will 100% of the time, but I don't have full control. I'm still just a mad beast in that state and the best I can promise is that I won't try to kill everyone unless provoked. If the battle forces me to go that far... everyone, including Shin will have to retreat."

Shin: "We can't just abandon you. I definitely won't."

Aqua: "It's a temporary retreat, Shin. I'll need you all to come get me in the end. "Silver Fang" can be sustained for 30 minutes and during that times all my parameters increase by 100 fold, and my defenses more so, but afterwards I'm left too feeble to even move for days. In that state even a lone normal THEM can kill me. If you don't come back to pick me up I'll certainly die."

Shin: "..."

Jin: "Despite what I said before this might be a pointless discussion. Our ultimate objective isn't to kill Team Kenya's leader, but kill the Z3 if we don't want three of our members to be erased by God. My plan calls for Aqua to actually separate from us to drive the zombie legion into a corner. It requires Aqua to attack the legion head on... and for are friend Shuia here to perform a miricle of god before our enemies and allies in a few hours from now!"

Shuai: "...What?"

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Everyone looked back and forth between Jin and Shuai confused, yet it was Shuai who was the most confused, wide eyed and sweating heavily now put on the spot. He was just enjoying his status as 'air' as he listened on to the discussion, but when the focus came onto him and was left there sitting stupid that he will be committing a miricle of god before everyone. In a panic he turned to Jin... but when he saw Jin smiling there with his eyes swirling around in madness... he knew there was no getting out of what sinister plan their strategist had planned.

Just after the sun had set two people where staring each other down. One was a tall and slim man with black skin smiling almost unconcerned with the other party, yet the women with orange hair and pale skin was staring daggers at the man, pointing her transparent blue spear at him. She wanted to point both of her spears at him, but her right arm covered in ice was still regenerating and only recovered up to the elbow with the rest missing.

Sakura: "Badru! What is the meaning of this? Are you betraying your own Blood Crusade and the agreement they have with Mass Enlightenment!?"

Badru: "I had no such intentions. I've just agreed to trade off our useless newbies to Team Japan for three of theirs. I've certainly never agreed to a truce with them. Even if we wipe Team Japan we can't guarantee that we'll kill their Newbies if they are hiding them somewhere within the city. The Z3 after losing so much in this battle won't spare a single soul in this city. He'll order his legion of THEM to devour the flesh of every human inside to strengthen his army and recruit the recent deceased into his ranks. He won't listen to us if we ask him to halt his army to inspect the humans within the-"

Sakura: "That's not what I mean! Badru, you let the priority target Shin go, along with the rest of his group who set out to face you! That's the only way to explain how that bitch Deka was killed. She still had a defensive item with most of its energy left and is skilled at covert action. Deka also had a 5000 meter head start and the majority of Team Japan defending the base as well as the soldiers had chased after my group after I assassinated one of their two leaders."

Badru: "Ah, good work with that by the way. You were rewarded 5000 Points and C rank reward, while all other members were rewarded 3000 points and two D ranks rewards. You've done good by Team Kenya Sakura"

Sakura: "Those words should never be uttered out of that mouth yours, Blood Crusade mad dog! You're actually more messed up in the head than Kahari, and he likes to eat people alive! Also, don't try to distract me. As I was getting to no one else but Shin's group you had let go could have caught up and killed Deka. The person that you were supposed to kill and who you let go killed one of our members! I would have killed her myself after we returned to the Terminal Lobby, but thanks to you we are now at -1 Team Point."

Badru: "...And what of it? It isn't like she mattered to me, you, or the team in the grand scheme of thing. I found it amusing how she wanted to get close to me for my status, but what's her name was never important. I'm a devoted husband you know. The only physical and emotional affairs she allows me are when I encounter a prey to kill. She is a understanding wife like that."

Sakura: "Ha! What a match made in heaven. So, why did you let our priority target go?"

As Sakura asked this she entered Unlocked Mode and readied her stance to lunge towards Badru and impale his throat with her weapon. Badru eyes grew cold at Sakuru's clear hostility and killing intent, but deep down he was joyful. When they had first met Sakura was a spoiled little girl raised ever so delicately by Mass Enlightenment as one of their princesses due to her talent and background, but now after meeting him and experiencing the terrors of this realm she had grown into a first rate warrior who was living up to her first rate potential.

Badru: "Its those eyes. I love those eyes which clearly reflect that you won't back down to my might like others and will fight me to the death no matter how hopeless it is. That's why I let him go. This Shin fellow was a bit lukewarm at first, but once I gave him a good kick he displayed those same eyes as he was willing to fight me to the death for his own future and the future of his team... but also like you he's too weak right now. It wouldn't be fun to kill him. The two of you haven't been in this dimension for that long and despite your stellar talents you've yet to truly tap into them, Especially Shin. While you at the very least know of Self Created Powers (Powers you create yourself from enhancements) and Altered Abilities (Altered form of enhancements to suit the user) from your own parents and teachers as they instructed you growing up. In your case Sakura, you created Ice Age and Spear of Gungnir through a manipulation of energy from Ice Energy Stones. As I suspected for Shin he does not know of them, or at least their true form as to be expected from someone with no connection to the Four Pillars and this dimension, but he is quite talented. I can tell he overcame most challenges that would have kill others in his shoes purely with the enhancements from God and the surface level of his potential. I believe he's even reached the Third Stage like myself from just the standard difficulties of this realm, putting him above even you Sakura who is omly at the Second Stage. Hahaha! Really, unless someone explains it to him and shows him the value of powers you create yourself he probably won't get it. Not that I will of course. All I am is the hunter who is waiting for the prey to grow up. I'll let him go this time around, but if next we meet he hasn't lived up to my expectations and grown as a warrior... I just kill him per my duty to Blood Crusade. I won't raise him up personally... like I've doing with you Sakura."

Sakura: "...So what are you planning, blood crusade dog. You're placing Team Kenya into far too much danger to brush it off as a whim. If its unacceptable for my bottom line I'll fight you here to the death!"

Badru: "Oh... Well we can't have that. You haven't fully grown under my care into a woman that I can enjoy to my hearts content yet. Killing you now wouldn't be any fun. My ultimate goal here in this world is simple. Weed out the weaklings amongst us. Blood Crusade tasked me to watch over its members and to prioritize their enhancements and growth over my own since I've reached the Third Stage. I suspect they don't want me to grow so strong and advance any further, especially in the Unlocked Mode. I have high expectations placed on me, but as I'm a black sheep in my own family and have quite the influence, Blood Crusade won't trust me to become one of their main fighters in the real world who've reached the Fourth Stage or higher with the very best enhancements."

Sakura: "Isn't that just the way it is? Only the most inner most circle of individuals are allowed permission to stay in this dimension for long periods of time as they don't want too many people out their who could rival the founders of the Four Pillars, or rival them by teaming up. I'm treated as a princess back in Japan, but even I've yet to be cleared to stay in God's Dimension long enough to become truly powerful like Lord Zero or your organization's founder Lord Wrath. They already have Team Devil for the sole purpose of wiping Team Celestial and other troublesome teams, so we're only here for training."

Badru: "Yes and chances are I'll soon be ordered to save up 50,000 points for "Return to the Origin" and go back home to the real world. That's unacceptable to me! I love this dimension as well as the endless opportunities to test my mettle and grow more powerful, but if I go against orders to pursue a higher power they'll sick Team Devil and other teams filled with high potential Players on me. And even if by some miracle I make it back to the real world I'll be blacklisted by all organizations of the Four Pillars. There's no future for me even if I grow to rival the Founders who've reached the peak of power rivaling the Saints."

Sakura: "And what does that have to do with letting our target Shin go and getting rid of the... Wait! You, you don't mean to-"

Badru: "Yes! As soon as we get back I plan to report that the priority target Shin had almost completely wiped out Team Kenya except you and me who barely survived the encounter. Maybe Lekan as well. I know he has been saving up points in secret to kill me, his observer, so that he can amass the power to save his family in the real world. I suspect he has been doing Bonus Missions in the "Kiba" Mission World from before. If I had to guess he has saved up more than 10,000 points and two B rank rewards. Possibly a A rank reward. Even if he isn't directly killed by Team Japan, Lekan can definitely take the two B rank reward penalty if the Z3 perishes. Unless he kills someone unlocked he won't make more than 5000 and B rank reward after all."

Sakura: "You even saw through Lekan's deception as well. Really... So the plan is to blame Shin for the wipe and bluff that he is more powerful than he really is so that we can continue to stay in this dimension for the sake of killing him and Team Japan. Also, if they check to see if we are lying and we killed them ourselves it wouldn't be a lie if Team Japan really kills the Z3 so the penalty takes effect. That's... Acceptable. To raise my own standing to a level above my own family is a goal of mine. It's my childhood dream to serve directly under Lord Zero as well."

Badru: "So should I take that as that you're on board?"

Sakura: "...Fine Blood Crusade dog. I'm in! We'll do this your way, but I don't have two B rank rewards to spare for the penalty and I've only earned 5000 Points and C rank reward so far, so I'm not exempt either."

Badru: "Don't worry. I always planned for you to wipe out Team Japan's three Newbie so that you'll gain 6000 Points and B rank reward. Like this you'll reach your quota and more. Long as we avoid all four members besides us being directly killed you can also survive the Team Point penalty fine as well."

Sakura: "I see. So you've already thought it through that far. You're smarter than you look... but wait! What about yourself? You'll die if your plan to have the Z3 killed by Team Japan succeeds. You only have my success to rely on and the few soldiers you've killed, so you couldn't have earned much more than 3000 Points and two D rank rewards. You also don't keep a safety net with spare points when we enter missions, so you won't survive if we we suffer a huge loss in Team Points."

Badru: "That's not a concern of mine. I only told Shin I'll spare him. Hahaha! I never said anything about the rest of his team. Before the mission conclude I'll kill one member of Team Japan, someone unlocked, so that I'll have earned at least 10,000 points, 1B and 2D rank rewards in the end. That enough to be excluded from the penalty of the Z3's death and survive a possible -5 Team Score. Long as the two of us survive we won't be erased."

Sakura: "Always so ruthless. You said you'll spare Shin, but kill one of his comrades. If I didn't have to be in the same team as you I'll feel sorry for him. I bet you're hoping the death of a comrade will push him to grow as well?"

Badru: "Ha-ha!... It was a passing thought."

Badru revealed a evil smile as he said those words and Sakurs in turn as if infected by it did the same. What they were planning went against their organization's rules and betrayed the trust of their team members, but for the sake of their own ambitions and evolution... such things only needed to be stepped on for the path of glory and power they both sought after.

Kiba refers to the Kiba Anime featuring shard casters and the main character Zed. It's a great dark Anime with 50 episodes that deserves to be watched and watched again. I might even have them enter such a world in the future.

I also have plans to actually give Shin three cultivation pills in this series, two A tier and a AA tier, and here are the two I have come up with to date. The first is from the Breakers Series of Korean Manga and the second is based on a pill from Battle Against the Heavens, but changed up.

One Moon Divine Pill -

Rating 150.

A Ki altering medicine produced by the One Moon School and the greatest creation of medical sciences in the whole Murim. A very difficult pill to forge to the point that only a handful of them were made in the history of the One Moon Shool. The Divine pill is equivalent to the condensed form of energy amounting to several hundred top elite martial artists. Upon ingestion the pill causes the body to enter a state of enhanced cultivation, resulting in the possible break down of the individual's body and death. Duration of enhanced cultivation period last 30 days and 30 nights. Degree of success or failure depends on the user. May only consume one pill in life time. Upon success the user's Ki may advance by a tier, multiple tiers, and possible boost of Ki's natural properties. Failure may result in loss of Ki, permanent disability, or risk a 90% certainly of death. Warning: Being disturbed during this period, or unnecessary physical or mental actively will result in failure. Requires 15,000 Points, A rank reward, and any Cultivation Manual.
