Terror Infinity Side B

Chapter 26, H.O.T.D 2

A few minutes after Badru was taken away from the battlefield by the floating rock under his feet. Previously he was right in the center of the legion of zombies trying to invade the city, but right now he was at the very edge of the legions formation. There were still still zombies all around him in his line of sight, but only in the few thousand scattered about compared to the where he just was. As Badru was floating over the heads of the zombies he had to wonder why hasn't the Z3 commander just spit up his forces, surrounded the city, and invade from all sides.

Badru: "It isn't like their side has more than one EMP Rifle after all to wipe out a 100,000 THEM in minutes. If I was willing I could open a few holes in their defenses one after the other to allow THEM to rush in... though I suspect that even doing so the human side will win out if it comes to a desperate struggle with those magic bullets, so its fine not to act... Alright, this is good enough!"

Badru roared loudly and with monstrous force stomped hard on the rock carrying him off and shattering it to small fragments, falling to the ground shrouded in dust from the broken debris. His patience had been reached and could no longer wait for the fight to start, but the same could be said of his enemies. At the same time a hole in the earth 1000 meters away opened and sticking his head out from a makeshift cave created from a Earth Elemental, Team Japan's leader grasping his sci-fi sword locked eyes onto Badru. The moment Badru stomped hard and destroyed the rock and was falling back to the earth, he changed his weapon's shape from sword to spear and charged it with energy.

The spear glowed in a blue light that increased in intensity by the second, and Shin holding the spear with his eyes locked onto Badru threw the spear with incredible strength. Shin had charged 10% of his Ki which was the limit into the spear form of the Deltoid Z-Saber, but that was all that was needed for this sci-fi weapon to show its worth. As the spear flew through the air its glow was reminiscent of a shooting star and all those zombies who were grazed by the light on its path were incinerated instantly, including low tier evolved zombies. Badru was shrouded in a thick cloud of dust, so his response was a bit slow, but he was already in Unlocked Mode and felt on his skin the approaching danger and jumped.

- *CRASH*!

The glowing spear only grazed Badru's leg, taking out a large chunk of muscle from the thigh, but overall missed the direct hit Shin was hoping for. The spear stabbed into the earth and in a brilliant blue explosion disintegrated the space behind in a 10 meter radius crater. Shin cursed loudly as he missed and used one of the three chances of "Enchanted Tool: Arrow Return" to recall the spear for Z Sabre back into his hands, retuning it to sword form. He then took out the black magic sword Gravity Blade and rushed out of the hole towards Badru. Badru saw this, yet he was still reeling from the last attack. His leg was beginning to heal at a visible speed, but he still felt a cold sweat over his body. Even for Badru, a direct hit from that glowing spear would spell death or near fatally wounded him. He was taken by surprise by the surprise attack and decisiveness of that last attack and... and he was impressed and a large grin appeared on his face.

Badru: "Not-"

The next attack came and interrupting him. Badru was watching the ground beneath his feet for any more surprise attacks from below, yet he was unable to detect a illusionary spell being cast to cover up another hole in the earth opening up right behind him, and he missed the man rushing out with a war hammer. The man wielding the hammer, Takeshi used up half of his spirit in that instance to the consumption of casting a powerful Devil Flame, and further condensing it around the metal end of the war hammer for maximum damage and destruction. Devil's Impact! Badru felt the heat of the Devil Flame on his back at the very last moment as Takeshi swung the war hammer at the nape of his neck.

Badru ducked down just under the swung hammer and from that position he lashed out with a sweeping kick with enough force to snap a car in two, but Takeshi used a burst of Devil Flame to pull back just out of the reach of the kick, and then retaliate with another swing of the Devil Flame enveloped War Hammer. Takeshi had also entered into the Second Stage by this point and if his attack were to land even Badru would suffer some damage, but that was acceptable for Badru as he fully intended to grab the war hammer, Devil Flame and all, with his left hand to stop Takashi's movements and with his right pummel him into the ground as a bloody mess. Takashi was certainty unlocked and Double Evovler, one of which was Strength, and was wearing Type 3 Mutant Beast Armor, but even so he would die if hit by Badru in the wrong place. Even in the right place with a proper guard, one punch from Badru who invested greatly in Muscle Density and power type enhancements could cripple him.

Shuai: (Gnome!)

Shuai hidden underground and ready to support his team had Gnome create quicksand under Badru's feet. As a result his balance was destroyed and unhindered Takashi's war hammer shrouded in Devil Flame struck Badru in the face. Devil's Impact sent Badru flying dozens of meters away enveloped in burning Devil Flame from head to toe.

Shin: (No death notification! Even if you don't get the kill yourself God will inform both teams present in the world of the Team Score. That's how Team Germany knew that we killed out Newbies which forced them into a corner after a death occurred. Tch! Fucking monster!)

Shin couldn't believe Badru was still alive after a direct hit to the head like that and burning in Devil Flame, yet that didn't stop him from acting. With Instant Movement and the boots set of Adell's Legacy, Shin crossed the 1000 meters separating them swiftly. He then jumped high into the air and jumped forward with Void Movement with the Z Saber in a swinging motion.

Shin: (Mega-Charge, Mega Slash!)

The green energy blade of the Deltoid Z Saber was now dyed blue and extended thirty meters long, and Shin entering the Second Stage swung the energy blade with all his might on a path towards Badru. Badru was still flying through the air burning alive in Devil Flame and upon closer look his neck was twisted 180 degrees, yet the moment the charged and ruthlessly sharp energy blade came chopping down on him, Badru forcefully snapped his head back in place and entered the Second Stage. His muscle bulged up by more than 60 percent in one burst. The flames covering his body were dispersed in all directions. He then slapped the earth hard with enough force to leave deep handprints, volting away from the downward slash. The charged slash craved out a deep scar onto the earth over tens of meters, yet Badru had escaped unharmed, but Shin didn't give up. Shin staying in the Second Stage retracted the charged energy blade down to ten meters and chased after Badru sending one slash after the other to cut him to pieces. Badru regained his footing by this point and side stepped each each slash of the Deltoid Z Saber.

Shin: (He's fast, but it's more about precision with this man. He steps just out of reach of the Z Saber's energy blade. He doesn't escape, but stays close and is waiting for a chance to strike back!)

Shin hated to admit it, but he felt awed at Badru's bravery and resolve. He was avoiding the Z Saber because it could certainly harm him with its sharp cutting power unlike most weapons where his muscles could absorb the damage, yet he didn't back away in fear, but stayed close. It was both the most dangerous and best course of action for a close range fighter to deal with the Z Saber, and Shin himself didn't know if he would have the skill or resolve to do the same if their position were switch. Shin didn't necessarily have to as he is a versatile fighter, but there was still merit in choosing to fight like Badru. At the very least it unknowingly placed a strange kind of pressure on the attacker.

Shin: (But I'm not about to admit defeat!)

Then for the first time Shin slashed at Badru with Gravity Blade in his other hand. He had yet to even once swing Gravity Blade in their battle and this didn't go unnoticed by Badru and the whole time had had one wary eye on the black magic sword their entire fight, so when Shin finally lashed out with it he was ready. Badru simply stretched out one hand to grab Gravity Blade. It looked unimpressive, but as a fist fighter his options were limited. Still, he was prepared for the unknown black magic sword to be sharper and more lethal than the energy blade, and had a ability prepared to deal with it, yet-

Shin: (Gravity Blade, 10000 Fold Gravity Slash!)

Shin went beyond his expectations. When his hand grasped Gravity Blade a unimaginable force fell down on hand. Badru still managed to hold the blade with impressive strength, but if he wasn't carefully the weight alone and its sharp blade would be enough to chop off his fingers.

Shin: (Opening!)

Badru's moments became sluggish as he held the increased weight Gravity Blade in one hand and he lashed out with the charged energy blade of the Deltoid Z Saber. It's time limit for the charged slash was almost up, and so with one last attack Shin stabbed forward at Badru's chest with the full intention of opening up a large hole where his heart should be. The man was still human, probably, so destroying the heart should kill any human, or critical injury him even if he really were a monster. The energy blade glowing with a blue light was now just a inch from piercing through when-

- *CLINK*!

...it was caught.

With his free hand Badru who had been desperately avoiding this very energy blade grabbed the end of the blade with his bare hand, stopping the savage thrust to the heart so easily that it left Shin in a temporary daze. Shin had to double check what he saw to believe it. The blue energy blade was burning his skin with a audible sizzling, yet he was still certainly grasping the energy blade. The charged energy blade was a lethal slash which Shin thought could possibly injury Aqua even in "Silver Fang". Whether it's the First Stage, Second Stage, Third Stage, Black Heaven and Earth Ki, Black Origin Threshold, Kakuja Kagune after advancing to A tier, Silver Dragon Scales, or any of his various equipments or items, Shin didn't have a single power that would allow him to come close to mimic what his opponent just did.

Badru: "Not bad... Shin is it? You match the description Mass Enlightenment obtained well enough and shared with Blood Crusade to hand out to all the teams. You're pretty good. More than a little good for someone of your battle history and assumed average bloodline. You've wonderfully adapted to God's Enhancements... but still, there are some things you can't overcome with just that. AA ability Molecular Density. My name is Badru. The leader of Team Kenya. Also a member of Blood Crusade and Molecular Density is the special ability that runs through the noble veins of my family whose been apart of this organization from its conception. It allows the user to vastly increase their toughness and molecular bond strength for short burst. That's how I could survive all those powerful attacks with little damage. My power based enhancements, A tier Younger Togoro 100 Percentage Power and and A tier Demon Overlord Genetic Mutation, are just add ons which I've found interesting. I can safely hold on to these two bloodlines thanks to my heritage as well... but that's enough talk. I've had my fun now. This is 80 percentage power while in the Second Stage!"

And then before Shin even knew how a force struck his stomach that felt like every bone in his body shattered. Shin without even realizing it had used Silver Dragon Scales instinctively, but he never even knew or felt the difference. The kick that lifted Shin off his feet and now sent him flying way off into the distance left him all but defeated with his strings cut like a puppet. He dropped his weapons in mid flight and flew over hundreds of meters into a large grouping of zombies. They flocked towards him immediately seeking out his evolved blood, but driving them away and unable to approach were the seal tags strapped around his belt that Drake drew up. They begun to burn as the zombies tried to approach and repelled them, but within a few minutes they would run out and lose effectiveness.

Takashi: "Shin!!!"

Badru: "Oh, I haven't forgotten about you, my friend. The hammer to the face dislocated my neck and it was a bitch to straighten out during that guy's earlier rush."

Takashi: "!!!"

Before Takashi knew when Badru reached swiftly arrive behind him without a sound till he began whispering words to him, and then throwing out a punch that would cripple a man twice as powerful as Takashi. Takashi felt a immeasurable pressure weighing down on him and could barely breath, but his mental strength developed from unending battle with the undead and mutant beast wasn't so weak as to bow down and accept death without a fight. He also had comrades, friends, family, and in a strange twist of fate after the apocalypse began, two women who cared deeply for him and he the same. Just how could he go down just like this?

Takashi shouldn't have had the time to cast a shroud of Devil Flame with all his power, but he did it this instant. He then concentrated the Devil Flame into a small ball right before Badru's fist and the moment they touched a grand explosion shook the space where the two stood. A Devil Flame Bomb went off, incinerating everything within 30 meters and left a 10 meter crater in the earth.

It was his own Devil Flame, so the damage was only a fraction of what it should have been, but Takashi was still sent spiraling through the air unconscious and badly wounded all over with burns. This level of damage would take him over a week to heal from even with a medic like Shizuka-sensei by his side day and night, but it was preferable to death at the hands of the enemy. Badru was blown back some distance as well, but he landed on his feet. Badru suffered from serious burns and could smell his own burnt flesh cooking, yet he was still battle ready and smiling with a joyous on his face.

Badru: "Ha... Ha... Hahahahaha! Now that's something!! That's how a man should go down fighting, but I won't be letting you go. You'll be devoured by the zombies like the other guy if I leave you be. That's not how a warrior should perish, so-"

Rei: "Takashi!!!"

Shuai: "Don't go out just yet!"

Climbing out of another hole in the earth hidden by a illusion spell was Rei and Shuai'a voice could be heard trying to stop her. The two of them, along with Jin still hiding himself, were all waiting for a chance to intervene and support their main fighters, but Badru's recent display of force showed them that they could do nothing but watch Shin get kicked away into a eternally hungry horde of zombies, and Takashi blew himself up just for a chance to escape the enemy and wound Badru. They all felt powerless, and the first one who couldn't take it anymore was Rei who saw through Psyche Force Scans Takeshi getting swept up by a large blast and Badru walking towards his unconscious and burnt body. Shuai in a attempt to stop her created quicksand under her feet with Gnome and then a sturdy and all encompassing wall of earth around Badru. Even the sky was sealed above his head as the earth continued to shoot up and tower above him.

Badru: "What is this. Like this fragile wall could-"

- *CRASH*!

Badru sneered at Shuai's punny attempt at slowing him down, but it had a unexpected side effect which neither of them saw coming. The revival of Team Japan's leader!

As the hundreds of zombies were inching closer to Shin lying on the ground unmoving, the Ki of Black Heaven & Earth Technique and Rc Cell from his mutation flowed through his body and came together to regenerate and heal him. The damage he received from Badru's savage kick was nothing to laugh at. Multiple ruptured organs, internal bleeding, torn muscles, numerous broken bones and even the spine was snapped just from that one kick, so it took some time and more so energy to heal.

For Shin this damage was worse than the time he was sent flying away by the punch of a Hulk enhancer, but right now his stats, energy, mutation, and Genetic Constraint stage were all on a higher level than the time of that battle. In the less than thirty seconds from when he was sent flying away from the kick all his injures had fully healed and he stood back up. When he looked around he was surrounded by zombies on all sides, but they never crossed his mind as he gazed into the distance and saw Shuai crate a barricade of earth around Badru.

Shin SL: (...Hikari! On my go, fire a beam from the DRAGOON at Badru! I doubt the earth wall will work on this guy and he can probably swat at Shuai's Kekkai to break it, so tell Jin to immediately seal his movements with his strongest ice after you attack. I'll finish him off!)

Hikari SL: (Ah, okay! Shin are you-)

Shin could no longer hear Hikari's voice of concern for him and the answer to her question was no and yes. He was not okay. Badru was a enemy who etched onto his very soul fear and death. These were the feelings all of Badru's victims felt if they were lucky enough to survive the encounter and what earned him the name Reaper. A large part of him wanted to runaway and it took more willpower than he'll like to admit to stop himself, but in a way this was also a good thing, which why he was also okay. Shin didn't realize till now, but he had grown laxed about life and death battles since entering this world.

After the intense battle with the Guide where he won by the skin of his teeth and having his very life connected to Komaru's own, Shin had felt a pressing need to become stronger and do his best, but the next mission didn't respond to his desperation in kind. In one way or another all the zombie and evolved zombies were easy to deal with for him once he fought them just once and they never went over what he thought he could handle. The battle with Junpei was the same and only stressed him out due to the penalty placed by God if he lost or made a mistake. Shin also had the support of the powerful cast main characters and a large army to handle the 3 million zombie legion, so he never had to entertain a crazy idea like leading his team to personally wipe them out while also fighting Team Kenya on top of that.

Shin: (How could I have forgotten that this is God's Dimension! A realm where all my comrades and I could be wiped out at any moment. Where I could do my best and still die tragically alongside them. Where I've lost comrades even when our side held the advantage. I wasn't wrong for not going out in every little fight in this world. It's just a waste of energy, but with how easy this world was and my recent large power up, it had made me overconfident and mentally weak! I knew that this Badru would be troublesome, so why didn't I strike at my full power after the first swing of Mega Slash missed? Why did I freeze just because the enemy stopped my strongest weapon like it was nothing? How many times has that happened to me to date by the bosses I've encountered in this realm? More than once, so why would I blank out and allow myself to almost get killed by Badru? Just at what exact point in time did I think of myself as OP and unstoppable!?)

All these thoughts raced through Shin's mind in Unlocked Mode, and then he looked at the battle field he was just kicked out of. He didn't think for a second that the earth wall could stop Badru, but it gave him the perfect chance to launch an attack, so he buried his inner disappointment at himself and charged forward with Rc Cells racing through his bloodstream.

Shin in the Second Stage of Unlocked Mode focused all of his concentration within himself towards the Kagune organ. The liquid muscle within, or Rc Cells condensed into a heavily concentrated substance then released throughout the blood stream. A far greater physical enhancement than normal Rc Cells increased his power, speed, and regeneration, and from the spine around his backside two black armored Kagune tails thicker and stronger than the normal red tentacle with sharp talons along one side. The armored tails with irregular movement came alive and lashed at the zombies nearby by more than a reflex than a order. Hundreds of zombies were slain with their upper and lower bodies severed.

Shin: (Can't use both Kukuja Kagune and Black Origin Threshold with others nearby, so this will have to do.)

With nothing standing in his way Shin crouched down and then shot himself forward with the double acceleration technique, Swift Dash, in addition to entering the Third Stage to simulate Sachi. Shin's image became a blur to the naked eye even for those who have undergone enhancements, and arrived before the earth wall holding Badru undetected by his sharp instincts, swiping the armored tail at the wall. The Kakuja Kagune crashed and slashed through the rock wall and continued forward striking Badru within. Badru was taken completely unaware by the sneak attack too fast to defend against that came without warning. The talon side of the Kakuja Kagune tail swept up and smashed Badru through the other side of the earth wall, flying through the air and leaving behind a trail of blood. The wound itself wasn't deep due to Badru's thick muscles, but even with those powerful muscles he couldn't stop himself from being blown away.

Shin: "I won't let you touch the ground while still alive!"

Having a gut feeling that air combat would give him the advantage, Shin jumped high into the air and followed Badru with Void Movement. What came next was a midair game of ping pong. Shin's Kagune tail would swipe at Badru in crazed and lighting fast blows, and then send him flying in another direction before he felt any sort of balance. He would then chase after Badru with Void Movement and repeat the process again and again. Some points were different from the original, but in the back on his mind Shin couldn't help but feel that he was doing to Badru what Freeza did to Goku in that famous scene from their battle, but unfortunately he was unable to do what Freeza did and deliver a proper finishing blow to his opponent.

Badru actuality grabbed Shin's armored tail in his left hand as it was about to swipe his head, crushing it in his grasp, and forcefully pulled Shin closer with his right hand making a fist ready to smash in Shin's head. Even in the Kakuja getting hit by Badru's fist to the head was a death sentence, and so Shin slightly kicked the air with Void Movement, ducking under the punch that almost claimed his life and smashed his own fist with all his might into Badru's body.

Shin: (Soul Crushing Strike!)

And as it unexpectedly turned out this move was highly effective. Soul Crushing Strike failed to do any meaningful exterior damage in this instance, but delivered a powerful Ki strike delivering devastating internal damage. Badru threw up a mouthful of blood and blown away falling through the skies and smashing into the earth.

Shin: (That was too close! Arial combat gave me the advantage, but he isn't helpless at all.)

Shin gave up on fighting in the air any longer and pursued Badru down to the earth. Badru had just picked himself out of a crater made from the fall with a shape of his body line. What he had just experienced was a humiliating loss just now, yet for whatever reason no one present could understand why he was smiling and laughing loudly as if he couldn't get enough of this. Shin was charging straight at Badru and seeing him like this freaked him out and brought out even more fear in him.

Shin SL: (Freak! Then if your having so much fun let me show you the finishing move! Hikari! Attack after me! Blade Storm!)

Shin retrieved two Tang Swords from his Na Ring and immediately sacrificed them both for Blade Storm. The two swords shattered and the metal shards glowed brightly flying towards Badru. The maelstrom of sword shards struck Badru without mercy, yet the shards only able to rip the skin couldn't penetrate too deeply through his tough bulging muscles, yet Shin never expected them to. They were just a diversion as well as a smokescreen. Blade Storm was a flashy move and swept up his immediate vicinity in blinding sword shards, so Badru had almost missed the DRAGOON hovering directly overhead which shoot down a beam. Badru with excellent reflexes flipped backwards to avoid the beam, and in mid flip he picked up a palm sized stone from the ground and hurled it at the DRAGOON, piercing through its center and destroying it, but as the DRAGOON blew up and Badru touched the ground with his two feet ice began to crawl up his legs.

There in the corner of his eyes Badru saw a youth in a rinkeld blue jacket hold a magic staff in one hand and while his other hand was merged in ice glowing with magic power, with a trail of ice leading directly to his legs. Jin had to give up his illusion spell leaving himself completely exposed to pour all his into the ice magic. Badru felt a impulse to crush this youth he suspected to be hiding this entire time and waiting for a chance to strike, but he sensed a greater threat was already coming towards him. One so great that it made his skin crawl for the first time in this battle as a burst of energy swept past him. In that moment Badru was distracted by Hikari and Jin, Shin closed in to Badru's left side with Gravity Blade in hand prepared to use his ultimate technique, Spirit Wave.

Starting from the Ki center all Shin's energy was converted into a higher tier of energy and exploded outward as a torrent of blue energy, but it was only for a brief moment before condensing itself back within. Truly a instant as the whole process which used to take a few seconds was completed in one. Having achieved the Third Stage of the Genetic Constraint and engaged in a battle of life and death, Shin realized a greater control of the Spirit Wave technique without knowing it, but he wouldn't care if he did. He was too focused on the battle to entertain such idle thoughts at this moment.

Shin directed the condensed energy of Spirit Wave into Gravity Blade and swung the sword with increased weight at Badru's chest. As Shin swung the blade shrouded in a torrent of energy, even knowing he could use Molecular Density, Badru saw a image of death reflected off the black magic sword, so he acted. Badru reached out to grab the sword to redirect the slash away from his body. Even if this resulted in a loss of an arm it was far more preferable that getting bisected in two, but his opponent saw through such a desperate ploy. Not knowing if he could or not, learning from the past he ordered the Kukuja Kagune tail to tunnel underground avoiding detection, resurface underneath Badru, and coil around his outstretched hand as it was about to grab Gravity Blade and pulled the arm away.

Shin: (Spirit Wave, Three Thousand Fold Gravity Slash!!!)

After The Spirit Wave infused Gravity Blade successfully landed... a dreadful silence swept across the battlefield. There were still the sounds of guns going off and zombies moaning in the not so far distance, but for those present those sounds never reached their ear.

???: "Ha... Haha.. Hahahahha!... Okay, you pass. You're not weak. Not weak at all. No, your my long awaited prey! The one I was born into this world for the sole sake of crushing you into a bloody mess and step on your remains as the victor! Just like the old man Wrath said there would be someone out there I could go all out against and who would respond in kind and more. You're strong and you can become stronger... so I'll let you go just this once, my friend. This world is too small for our battle and you're still in your early development phase. Far more so than me, so we'll wait! Wait till this dimension provides us with all we need for our fated clash that wouldn't lose to the saints themselves! Shin... fear me. Remember this humiliation. It is fear and hatred which makes a fighter grow stronger after all. Till the next time..."

Authors Note:

Rate/Follow/Favorite/Comment.

In this chapter I thought about how often I have Shin yell out attack names. I do try to be careful about. When he can say it and isn't trying for a perfect sneak attack, or when he's moving too fast to say it out loud or is doing a sneak attack, I have him say it in his head.

When Badru said Shin matched the description well enough he meant his hair. Back when he dueled Saki his hair was still white as snow, but is now white with his black hair returning.

For the next few days I will be releasing chapters around this time.

Younger Toguro enhancement is a bit different than the original. In the original Younger Toguro revealed in the end that he was lying about how much power he was using when he said this was 20% power or this is 80% power. Just judging by how each later power up gave him much more than before, what he called 85% was like 30% at best compared to his real 100% power. And so I will make a AA 120% power later.

Lastly, I know alot of people question why don't I have Shin get a lot of stats. I bet some will even think this is how strong you can be with high stats, but that isn't the case. Badru is a true fighter and he uses his power masterfully, yet he doesn't have the versatility of Shin. If he met something power alone can't overcome he's out of luck.

Badru's Stats and Enhancements.

Stats:

Intelligence - 532.

Mental capacity - 401.

Cell Vitality - 991.
