Chapter 42
Heroic Bloodshed Epilogue
-:-
5 Minutes Later
A certain abandoned 3 story building
Hellhole District
With the inclusion of the Superheroes, Hellhole District’s midnight carnival kicked into high gear.
The chorus of guns, explosions and earth shaking punches echoed increased in fervor with no end in sight.
Amidst this chaos, a very out of place group was largely ignored.
This group was composed of 16 individuals.
15 of them were clad in jet black full plate armor and halrberds that came straight out of the movies.
The last one of this group was a humanoid bat that stood twice the height of a normal man.
With its powerful limbs and sharp claws, it cleaved through the combination of Triad, Cultivators, the Mob, Mafias and Norsca barbarians that just happened to be fighting there.
The black knights followed the bat’s lead and went on a killing frenzy.
Despite the criminal elements setting aside their differences and united against the newcomers, it was still a one sided beatdown.
It didn’t even take 5 minutes for the Bat and his knights to completely destroy the criminals.
After that, the black knights began drinking.
What were they drinking?
Blood of course!
It should be obvious at this point but the 16 newcomers were Vampires.
The only one that wasn’t sipping down on the red nectar was the humanoid bat.
The bat’s body began shrinking until it became a human that stood 1 head taller than the average man with malformed skin features.
This man was Kolro Nosferatu, one of the oldest and most powerful vampires in existence.
He preferred to be called Nosferatu for some reason.
He allowed his men to feast while he walked around the abandoned building.
About a minute or so, he stopped at a crude half destroyed turret made of wood, wires, a cellphone, guns, a car battery and a phone.
Nosferatu felt something was off with the contraption.
“Captain, a minute of your time please.” Said Nosferatu.
A few seconds later, one of the black knights who was clearly in the middle of his feast, came running and knelt before Nosferatu.
“Yes lord?”
“Kindly bring Jabir here.”
“At once.” Said the knight as he left post haste.
About 3 minutes later, an ancient looking old man with deep brown skin, gray hair with an Arabic themed clothing unsteadily approached Nosferatu.
“Damn you Nosferatu. Humans aren’t built to travel 100 kilometers per second. Be gentle on my old bones will you?” complained the man named Jabir.

“You’re a few years above 1300. That’s still very young you know?”
“For an immortal vampire it is. In human standards, I’m as ancient as ancient can be!”
“If you only let me to turn you into a vampire, you won’t feel so wobbly all the time.”
“Don’t be stupid. I’m proud that my frail human self has found the secret to immortality. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Said Jabir as he puffed his chest in pride.
The old man’s full name was Jabir inn Hayyan.
Though his name has faded over the passage of time, he was quite influential back in the old days.
He was one of the first few people to successfully create the Philosophers Stone.
And though no one would credit him, Jabir was the one that created the Elixir.
Quite simply, Jabir was a man nations would fight over.
“Stubborn brat. Anyways, I think we might have found another one with similar abilities as you.” Said Nosferatu as he pointed towards the wooden turret.
“Ho? Let’s see”
Jabir carefully touched the contraption until he felt the wires and the nails.
“Hahaha! True enough, the creator used Midas Alchemy to make these. He did a good job hiding it too. However, there’s that extremely small mixture of Chi, Mana and ESP that gives him away.” Said Jabir with a smile. “This person is also a Midas Alchemist and an Artificer. I think it’s called Technomacer nowadays. It’s nice to see another one after all these years”
“Can you find him?” asked Nosferatu with great interest in his voice.
“Who do you think you’re talking to? It’ll take some time since this guy is careful, but yes, I can find him.”
“Good. Very good. Even after all of these years, I still cant figure out how you find people based on their residual power.”
“It’s something to do with the brain amplification we Midas Alchemist + Artificers gain from our abilities. There are other means to track via power residue, but this is how I do it.”
“I don’t understand”
“No need to. I’ll handle the tracking.” Said Jabir as he removed the nails and the wires off the makeshift turret. “What you need to focus on convincing this person to cooperate with you”
Nosferatu sighed in response.
“It would be good if this one is as reasonable as you. Most of those I approach for cooperation attack me out right. I kind of understand my standard look and how I look when I’m in War Form, but still….” Said Nosferatu
Nosferatu had a default appearance that screamed ‘I’m a monster! Please hit me!’
As such, those who meet him for the first time often attack him without question.
Those of his bloodline were slightly luckier in this regard.
Those who were either turned or born with his blood had a War Form that looked almost exactly as Nosferatu in his hideous default form.
The main difference lied in how muscular his children were compared to his default form.
Hideous the Nosferatu bloodline’s appearance may be in their War Form, this was a small trade off to how much power they gain.
There were a bit of drawbacks that turn most potential vampires from joining the Nosferatu bloodline, but such was life.
“I wonder… Will immortality be a good enough offer him?” asked Nosferatu.
“You already know through experience the answer to that.” Replied Jabir
“*sigh*…. That’s true”
Out of all the beings that walked the earth, Nosferatu was probably the one that met the most people with the Midas Alchemy+Artificer/Technomancer combo of power.
He was probably the only one actively searching for these people.
He offered immortality to all of them.
All of them refused.
“My kind is quite prideful. Since we have the ability to potentially create whatever we want, the very idea that we are unable to find our own way to immortality is an insult to our power.” Said Jabir.
Once again, Nosferatu sighed.
These people’s pride in their own humanity was so great that they would vehemently refuse to be turned to a vampire even if their life span was coming to an end.
There were a handful of Midas+Technomancer that successfully achieved immortality, but majority of them accepted their death with grace.
It was a big waste of talent, but Nosferatu respected their wishes.
That’s how highly the ancient vampire viewed them.
Jabir was one of 5 Midas+Technomancers that has found immortality on their own and Nosferatu made a big effort to maintain a friendly relationship with them.
Why?
Because the few Midas+Technomancers that have allied with him has proven without a fail that their ability to create was both extremely flexible and surprisingly powerful.
The Nosferatu bloodline has been saved by these people multiple times from extinction.
Despite Jabir inability to fight, many of the Nosferatu bloodline owed their lives to him.
Many would die for Jabir if the situation called for it.
Nosferatu himself owed Jabir his life.
As such, Nosferatu and Jabir had a strong bond of friendship that has lasted for centuries.
“This is the first of your kind that we discovered in 5 decades. I do hope that we’ll be able to convince him to join our side in the Vampire Blood War. If not, at least we could convince him not to attack us” said Nosferatu.
“If this guy is anything like the others in the past, I’m sure that he’ll be intrigued by Vampiric Immortality and would probably agree to a non-aggression pact if you give him some samples to study. As to how you convince him to fight for you, that’s going to need a lot of background investigation.” Said Jabir.
“Touche. Well then, let’s track this person down.” Said Nosferatu as he supported Jabir.
The Nosferatu Vampires exited the chaotic Hellhole District without anyone knowing that they were even there.
