Chapter 17

The Mass Murder at Dionaea Salon and Spa Epilogue

-:-

Vermilion City

A certain park in the residential district

1 in the morning the following day

Lily Cafin was ranked extremely low in the overall power scale of the HAA, but this was because her ability didn’t center in combat.

Lily’s ability was an ESP of sorts.

She was capable of planting a very small part of her consciousness into anything she touched.

This small consciousness allowed Lily to see and hear everything within its immediate area.

The beauty of it was that it generated no heat like those observer wards in the magic side. It also didn’t generate any EMF like those electronic bugs of the science side.

It was perfect for information gathering because it was undetectable.

The only downside it had was that Lily was capable of bugging only 1 target.

If she planted another one, the older one would disappear.

Her ability was called ‘Far Seer’ and she has made use of this to fuel her love of gossip.

This time around, she has believed that she landed a scoop that would easily make the school paper’s front page.

Love affairs were universally loved by the readers.

And what better love affair to expose to the populace than the one sided love of the Argent Princess Juno Saiga to an ex-nobody like Theodore Lorne

Personally, Lily thought Theo was a 6-7 out of 10.

He was above average at best.

Why would a 15/10 like Juno be interested in such a normy like Theo?

If it was because of Theo’s newfound fame, then Lily might understand Juno’s attraction to him. That’s the normal gold digger’s course of action.

However, that was not the case.

Juno has been interested with Theo for more than one year now.

Lily knew of this because Juno approached her for information about Theo about a year ago.

Lily assumed that it was nothing more than a short puppy love. Juno would get over it eventually.

When Theo’s popularity shot up with the Black Bible Incident, even Lily got curious.

Since Juno owed her one, so the meeting was relatively easy to set up.

Lily planted a bug on Theo and drooled at the potential info she would discover.

The things she discovered about Theo terrified her.

A secret base?

Cool!

Massive amounts of weapons, drones, a fighter jet and an unfinished railgun?

Lily felt something was wrong with Theo at this point.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Scouting the Dionaea Salon and Spa both from above ground and in the sewers?

Lily felt a hint of fear

And then, the massacre that has just occurred a few minutes ago happened.

At this point, Lily feared for her life.

Theo killed so many people in cold blood.

He ripped Raymond Dionaea’s limbs off, stuffed him in the bag, escaped through the sewers then bombed the building into oblivion.

Lily saw it all.

If Theo knew that Lily knew of his activities, odds are, she’ll be hunted down and shot.

She needed help and she needed it ASAP

But there lied the problem.

Lily was, for a lack of more flattering term, widely disliked by the general populace.

Her unrivaled ability to eavesdrop made sure of that.

The teachers had suffered under her ‘news’ multiple times.

They wouldn’t go out of their way to help her for a piece of gossip that had very little evidence behind it.

Friends?

What friends?

Her reputation as a backstabbing scumbag made sure everyone only interacted with her when they need something.

The police?

Once again, her stellar reputation got in the way.

The media has colored Theo as a hero in the making.

Who would they believe?

The pathological backstabber or the young hero?

The answer was obvious.

So, what does she do?

She approached the one person that owed her a lot of favors.

Lily hid in the shadows of the trees and waited.

A few moments later, a pure white girl wearing a sexy Napoleonic themed suit walked into the park.

“Lily? Are you here?”

Lily walked out of the shadows.

“I’m here. Glad you could make it Juno” said Lily

“*sigh*…. It’s one in the morning. I hope you have a good reason for making me stay up so late.” Replied Juno

“Yeah, I do. I need your help. If you do this favor for me, I’ll consider all of the debts you owed me paid in full” said Lily with a hint of desperation in her voice

“Oh? Then consider me interested then.”

“Good. Now, what I’m going to tell you sounds crazy, but I ask you to listen.”

Lily then began telling Juno everything she knew of Theo.

It might sound crazy to ask the girl who was in love with Theo for help but there was a reason for this.

People are extremely fickle individuals.

When they discover that the one that they held great respect for was actually a scumbag, they often turn of him and gut him like a pig.

This could be seen in nobility and politicians.

All it often took to plunge their popularity down the toilet was a very convincing scandal.

Lily saw Juno as someone who was much wiser than she let people on.

Juno has often displayed a high level of critical thinking and was very logical in making her decisions.

As such, Lily believed that Juno would understand that siding with Theo was not wise

“I understand this is hard to believe, but I ask you to give me a chance to prove that I’m right. If I prove myself correct, we can help steer Theo away from the wrong path!” said Lily

Truth be told, Lily doesn’t give a rats ass if Theo crashed and burned. All she wanted was to ensure her own survival.

If she had to spew out some sickening ‘power of friendship’ crap, then she’d do it in a heartbeat.

However, the ever smiling Juno gave a response that was outside Lily’s comprehension.

“So you’re going to betray him this time too huh. I guess I was too naive for me to think that you’d be a better person in this loop.” Said Juno as if she was talking to herself.

“Huh? What are you talking about?” asked Lily

“I thought that maybe making you meet Theo earlier than the previous loop, you might develop a solid bond with him…. But I guess that was too much to ask. Your base personality is a scum and a traitor. That wont ever change no matter the loop.”

“Ha?! You’re talking like you know me, but I only met you a year ago! We don’t even talk that much, so don’t you dare say that you know everything about me!” raged Lily

Juno ignored Lily and began talking to herself.

“I was worried that forcing the Dionaea incident 6 months earlier would mess up the timeline, but I guess it cant be helped. The ‘ME’ of this world would kill Theo’s brother and his wife once Dionaea breaks her will. Dying in a firestorm is much better than enduring the 3 months of torture that broke me.”

“You’re not making any sense! What are you-….. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! MY ARM! MMMMMYYYYYYY ARRRRMMMMMM!”

By the time Lily started screaming, her right arm was on the ground and Juno pulled out an axe out of nowhere. She was probably hiding it within her umbrella.

“And besides, you’re misunderstanding something. I don’t love Theo. What I feel for him goes beyond such petty desires of the flesh. While it would bring me the greatest joy to give birth to his children, I would do anything he desires. I would even marry someone I despise if Theo wishes it. I owe him so much more than my life in the previous world and I never got to repay him last time…. But this time, I will make him succeed. And if I have to kill millions of pests like you to do it, then I do it gladly!”

Juno’s axe broke Lily’s head in half before she could beg for mercy.

The dull sound of an axe slamming into a body could be heard echoing through the silent park.

About 5 minutes later, Juno successfully disposed of Lily’s body by chopping it into smaller pieces. She would later bring it home and throw it into a grinder, then feed it to stray dogs.

As for the blood in the park, she used a deck brush and bleach that she prepared beforehand. It didn’t even take 30 seconds to scrub off the bloodstain

She planned on killing Lily if ever she called her for this secret meeting anyway.

With a gentle smile and a good mood, Juno went on with her day and Lily would never be seen ever again.
