Chapter 125
A Dream Come True 5
-:-
Vermilion City was, for all intents and purposes, a city of endless conflict.
At any given point in time, someone somewhere within the city boundaries was getting his spine ripped out and be stabbed to death with it.
Based on official police data, there were at least 100 criminal activities per day. The unofficial data painted a grimmer picture of the city, hence the reason why it wasn't made known to the public.
Such staggering amounts of madness was the main reason why the HAA was constructed in Vermilion. The best place to train future crime fighters was via real life experience in the field.
Yet despite the daily anarchy, Vermilion City was still one of the richest cities in the Commonwealth.
There were even rumors that Vermilion City’s wealth exceeds quite a lot of countries in the continent of Alkebulan.
Due to the promise of limitless opportunities, natives of the city learned to live in harmony with the endless chaos.
Now, what do you think would a Vermilion City native reaction to a dragon flying a few meters above their heads, unleashing its ear splitting roar for everyone to hear?
If your answer was ‘panic, run for their lives and call for help’, then you guessed wrong.
The correct response was to ‘be surprised, check if said dragon was within their vicinity, then carry on like nothing has happened’
Theo envied their willful I-dont-give-a-rats-ass attitude as he held onto the dragon's tail for dear life.
At the moment, Theo used his grappling guns to keep him and Biajo from falling off. Fortunately, the Blood Dragon has not noticed their presence. This gave them an avenue to strike.
Unfortunately, the Blood Dragon was heading towards the center of the city.
They had to take it down ASAP.
“How the hell are we supposed to kill this thing?!” screamed Theo through the wind.
“Blood Dragons have extremely high regeneration capabilities, but it lacks any scales to protect itself! We will be able to inflict damage on any part of its body minus its extremely thick skull!” replied Pastor Biajo in kind.
“So we just keep hitting it till it stops twitching?!”
“Exactly!”
“Easy enough, if we were in the damn ground!”
“Hahaha! Let me handle that dilemma!”
Pastor Biajo whispered into his flaming mace in a language that was impossible to speak in human tongue.
The golden flame glowed in blinding light that rivaled the sun itself.
Before Theo could ask what Biajo was planning, the light concentrate into a single point at the tip of Biajo’s mace before firing a beam of intense heat that burned one of the Blood Dragon’s wings completely, and obliterated half of the other wing.
“Nice joSHIIIIIIIIIT!”
Theo screamed as the dragon fell at breakneck speed and was on a collision course with one of the many 50 story buildings in the area.
As expected of the 2 highly experienced combatants, they jumped off the dragon as it slammed into the building.
Biajo smashed through a wall 1 story beneath the dragon.
Theo, on the other hand, used his grappling gun backpack to catapult himself into the floor where the blood dragon crashed into.
Theo smashed into the glass wall, tumbled across the office floor and gracefully landed into a chair with wheels.
LIKE A BOSS!
Panic erupted through the office as the employees scrambled for the nearest exit.
The noise combined with the pain of having its wings burned off greatly agitated the blood dragon.
With a booming roar, the great beast extended its jaws to the nearest meatsack for a light snack.
Theo used his grappling gun to pull the employee from the jaws of death. At the same time, he blasted one of the dragon’s eye with his super shotgun.
He remained seated on his wheeled chair as he scooted just beyond the dragons reach. He open fired with his beloved FN P90 and allowed the auto reload function of his backpack to load up the super shotgun.
The FN 5.7x28mm rounds were as effective as mosquito bites to the dragon, but it did annoy the beast enough to keep its focus on Theo

And just as Theo hoped, a loud thud akin to a car crash was heard 1 floor below.
Pastor Biajo was a magic based warrior that relied in buffing himself with potions, spells and enchanted armor to fight superior opponents.
However, the Blood Dragon was to great of a foe for his standard buffed abilities to hack through.
As such, he needed to perform a martial technique called a ‘Heavy Strike’.
To the layman, the Heavy Strike was simply a very big attack with all of one’s might behind it.
This was the same thing with magic and chi based warriors, though their ‘all of one’s might’ was so great that it required a few seconds of charge up time.
Despite its drawback, the effect was astounding.
The dragon roared in agony and desperately tried to disengage
Much to the shock of the Blood Dragon, its damaged wings did not regenerate at all.
For this lapse of judgement, the dragon crashed into the next building 5 stories from its original position.
Before it could do anything, Theo jumped after it and smashed an archon battery charged punch into its back, causing the blood dragon to go through 3 floors of pure concrete.
Theo immediately used his grappling guns to retreat because, not a second later, the blood dragon’s firestorm incinerated everything near it.
It then descended down to the streets, leaving destruction on its wake.
Theo repelled down the side of the building to give chase.
On the other hand, Pastor Biajo simply jumped off the building and performed a superhero landing.
Such badassery.
Upon closer inspection Pastor Biajo eyes glowed with mysterious light, veins bulge throughout his body and his armor was filled to the brim with runes of power.
“Impressive strike, young Lorne! Why didn't you tell me have such power?” asked Pastor Biajo as the 2 of them ran after the dragon.
“Because that power has a very limited ammo capacity. Better not put faith on something so unreliable.” replied Theo
“Hahaha. True enough. My current state is somewhat the same. After 10 minutes, I will have to rebuff myself and that will take at least a minute to do so.”
“Then we have to end this before then.” replied Theo
He took Biago’s hand and used his grappling hooks to quickly bridge the gap between them and the dragon.
”What do we need from that thing?” asked Theo.
“A portion of its heart will do. We need the blood as a medium for a tracking spell.” replied Pastor Biago.
“Then we better hurry. I’m damn sure that those superheroes are already on their way.”
“Damn it. I forgot about them! Hold nothing back young Lorne!”
It took merely a few seconds of swinging till the caught up with the dragon.
And it became apparent as to why.
The dragon was limping and the injuries it had sustain from Theo and Biajo remained on its person.
It seemed the beam of light Biajo used earlier halted its regeneration.
At the moment, the dragon was facing off against some police officers. Naturally, their peashooters did nothing but annoy the dragon.
With one mighty swoop of its claws, cars were sent flying and some of the poor blokes were torn to shreds.
“Shit!” said Theo as he dropped Pastor Biajo on top of the dragon.
Once again, Biajo performed a heavy strike on the dragon’s back.
The force was so great that it shattered the street underneath.
The dragon roared in agony and began thrashing with reckless rage.
Biajo was thrown into a building across the street.
Theo swung from light pole to light pole, peppering the dragon with his P90.
This caught the dragon’s attention and with a loud roar, the beast lunged at him with the ferocity of an avalanche.
Instead of retreating, Theo fired his grappling gun and went underneath the dragon’s path.
As he passed beneath it, Theo fired the 2 rounds of the super shotgun into the inner thigh of one of its hind legs.
The Bunker-Buster rounds tore a large chunk of flesh and muscle in a glorious bloody explosion.
As the dragon landed from its lunge, the damaged leg instantly buckled and blood flowed in a violent torrent.
Theo couldn't help but sigh in relief.
The area he aimed for was where the approximate area where the Femoral Artery was located. At least, that’s where it was for humans.
It seems that it was the same for dragons.
This level of damage would have been nothing if the Blood Dragon’s regeneration was active.
Unfortunately for the dragon, this was not the case.
Mind you, even without the regeneration, the dragon was simply too much of a damage sponge to be taken down by regular means.
As such, Theo decided that it was better to bleed it out rather than doing it the old fashion way.
However, there was a saying that ‘a beast is at its most ferocious when it is cornered’, and the Blood Dragon embodied this perfectly
Driven by reckless rage, the Blood Dragon ignored its potentially lethal injury and fired off the most powerful breath attack it could muster.
Theo dove into a nearby building to avoid the firestorm that turned the street to a good depiction of hell.
The dragon used its remaining leg and lunge at him.
Before Theo could run out of the building, Pastor Biajo rushed through the fire and landed a powerful golf swing blow into the dragon’s jaw.
The shockwave shook nearby buildings, shattered the ground and sent the dragon flying 20 meters back.
It was clear to Theo that the Heavy Strike of the fully buffed Pastor Biajo was as strong or even stronger than Theo’s archon battery powered punch. But more importantly, Biajo can throw such strikes in greater numbers than Theo.
Quite disheartening it was to be reminded that even after all the shit Theo has been through, he was still at the bottom of the totem pole.
“Stand up young Lorne! The Blood Dragon’s regeneration might not be functioning, but it’s still far from falling!” said Biajo as he kept his eyes on the dragon.
“That I disagree.” replied Theo
“Don't be stupid! This is a dragon we’re talking about! It may be still a newly summoned and it's still a formidable foe!”
“That is true, but take a good look at it now.”
Biajo calmed the adrenaline pumping in his veins and observed their monstrous foe.
The dragon seemed to be extremely groggy. It’s movements were as if it was delirious or drunk. It tried to get back up, only to hit the deck almost immediately.
“What the-? What did you do?” asked the pastor in confusion
“Bleeding from the Femoral Artery would cause a normal man to faint in a minute and would kill him in 5. If the Blood Dragon had regeneration, a hemorrhaging artery should be a problem. But since he didn't have such a boon…*smirk*” replied Theo
“My word…. You thought of that while facing off such a beast?” asked the impressed pastor
“HAA combat lesson for individuals with normal human capabilities #69: If your opponent is better than you in every possible way, never fight fair. Find any weakness and exploit it. If you think there is no chance of victory, run.”
“Huh… very pragmatic.”
“Us weaklings have our own style of fighting.” replied Theo very proudly before checking the many hidden spy drones he had in the city proper. “Better rip out whatever it is you need from the dragon. If my estimates, we’ll be surrounded in 5 minutes.”
“What?! Already?! Damn it!” replied Biajo as he ran to the dragon who was pretty much dead at this point. ”Removing the piece we need from the dragon is quick and easy. However, how are we going to escape if the law is coming from all sides?”
“Easy. The sewers.”
“... You’re joking right?”
“Nope”
“Ugh”
True to his word, Biajo quickly tore open the dragon’s chest and violently ripped what a small lump of flesh from its heart.
By the time the Superheroes and the police arrived on the scene, Pastor Biajo was unloading everything in his stomach for the nth onto the filth the 2 were traversing through.
