Chapter 128 - A Dream Come True 8

Chapter 128

A Dream Come True 8

-:-

30 minutes later

A standard 4 car on a highway

A tense atmosphere was present inside the car Theo’s group was in.

While the threat of being attacked was very much a prime contributor, the main reason was because of the uneasy silence between Theo and Dorothy.

Their seating arrangement were as follows

Vivi sat on the driver seat. Apparently he was the only one who has a licence in the group.

Beside Vivi was Theo which gave Theo lots of room to react to any situation.

Behind Vivi was Dorothy with Phoebe on the other end. Jennifer Veila was sandwiched between the 2.

This formation was to maximize the protection around Jennifer.

Naturally, Theo provided all of them with his ultra light ‘Chainmail’ armor.

This allowed them to survive most gunshots that were below armor piercing rounds.

It would still hurt like hell though.

On the other hand, Theo was sporting his signature heavily modifying Z49 Scout Armor with the 6 mechanical arms all wielding grappling guns. All that was missing was his helmet and the omnidirectional flamethrower.

To make him less threatening, he wore a thick gray hoodie on top of it.

However, there was something extremely important that was missing from Theo’s regular kit.

“*sigh*... I still cant believe that I’m not allowed to bring guns.” said the disgruntled Theo as he watched the scenery go by.

“Get it to that thick skull of yours. If you don't want the authorities to hound you, then don't do stuff that will piss them off.” replied Dorothy in an aggressive manner.

Prior to their departure from Theo’s building, Dorothy and Theo had a bit of a verbal spat about bringing guns into the operation.

Long story short, Dorothy was in charge of the operation. What she says goes.

But that didn't mean that Theo was particularly pleased of her decisions.

“We are about to face off against bloodthirsty murderers unarmed? How is that logical? … *sigh*.... This is what I hate about women. Actions fueled with emotions and irrational thought”

“What did you say?!”

“Nothing my love. Nothing at all.”

“YOU BASTARD!”

Dorothy would have lunged at Theo if she wasnt restrained by Jennifer and Phoebe.

“Theo, was that really necessary?!” exclaimed Phoebe.

“Yeah yeah. It’s all my fault. I’m sorry.” replied Theo in a dismissive manner.

The friction between Theo and Dorothy stemmed, unfortunately, on the one ideal they would never agree on.

The value of life.

To Dorothy, everyone deserved a second chance. Even the worst scum was allowed such a privilege.

To Theo, all criminals must be subjected to intense scrutiny. Those who had hope, should be given one chance and one chance only.

The only thing repeat offenders deserved was a bullet to the head.

Ironically, Dorothy once wished to know everything about Theo just like any maiden in love.

And now that she got her wish…. Let’s just say that there were no sunshines and butterflies.

As such, the 2 couldn't help but butt heads with each other.

Once again, the tense silence filled the air.

Not allowing to let what little time they had together go to waste, Theo decided to speak

“By the way Vivi, I notice that Miss Jennifer here doesn't talk much.” said Theo

“Ah that. For some reason her voice is practically a whisper. She has to speak in someone’s ear to get any words across.” replied Vivi

“A kuudere?”

“Yup. A kuudere”

“Vivi my friend. I see that you are still and forever will be a man of culture”

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

In true manly fashion, the 2 friends shared a bro fist of pure respect.

“Don't encourage him Theo! Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep a harem of 21 girls in line?” complained Phoebe

“Holy crap! For real?! Last time I had to deal with that shit, it was still 13!” replied Theo.

“You missed out on a lot of crazy adventures my friend.” said Phoebe with a sigh.

From the outside, the group looked like a bunch of teenagers talking about stupid stuff during their leisurely drive.

Sure, there were a couple of sour grapes, like the ever silent Jennifer who simply smiled and Dorothy who bitterly kept her vigilance.

Nevertheless, they were having fun that fit their age.

But like all good things, nothing lasts forever.

As per usual, Theo’s cautious nature compelled him to have a couple of spy drones flying around his general area.

Thanks to this, he was able to spot 5 SUVs rapidly approaching them.

The SUVs were doing their best to look natural, but the way they were zigzagging through the relatively populated road gave them away.

“About damn time. I was starting to lose faith on my bait strategy.” thought Theo

In preparation of the chaos that was to come, Theo took out an old lunch box and handed out coms units to everyone.

“Alright everyone, take a com and just slip it in your ear.” said Theo. “It’s the same stuff we use in HAA, so there shouldn't be any confusion on how to use it.”

While everyone was equipping the coms, Theo took off his hoodie and did a quick system check of the 6 mechanical arms and the grappling guns they possessed.

At this point, the SUVs have already formed a U around them with 2 on each side and one on the back.

The front most SUV on Theo’s side aligned its backseat with Theo. It was clear they were planning to shower the sides with gunfire the moment everyone was in position.

Theo pointed his back towards the window, assumed a fetal position and used his arms to shield his head.

“Theo… what are you doing?” asked Dorothy, who noticed Theo’s actions.

Theo threw Dorothy a flying kiss and springing into action.

All 6 of the grappling guns on his back fired through the window of their car, straight through the glass of the enemy’s window and anchored itself with the car.

Theo was pulled from his seat into the enemy vehicle.

The moment he went through their window, he smashed his left elbow into the skull of the poor bloke closest to the door. The man’s skull literally shattered in half due to the force.

Without missing a beat, Theo backfisted the other one on the back seat straight through the window, sending glass shrapnels straight into the man’s brain.

The 2 enemies at the front finally reacted to the assault and peppered Theo with Uzi fire.

Unfortunately for the 2 soon-to-be corpses, the bullets simply bounced off Theo’s armor. Such was to be expected when the armor was made to shrug off head on shots from armor piercing RPGs.

Theo kicked the driver’s arm and sent the still firing Uzi into the lap of his ally on the passenger side, pumping the man’s balls full of led.

As the driver was reaching his ally’s Uzi, Theo hammered the man’s skull into his chest cavity.

It was not a pretty sight to say the least.

Theo fired his grappling gun into the brakes, abruptly stopping the SUV.

The SUV behind the one Theo was on violently crashed into his and instantly killed the ones at the front.

Though a bit rattled by the crash, Theo used an Uzi to deliver headshots onto the survivors of the crash.

At this point, all hell broke loose.

Though the enemy was still not in position, they began firing at Vivi’s group.

Theo wasn't particularly worried for their safety.

While the car itself was fairly normal, Theo provided large amounts of kevlar armor that they haphazardly stuck to the walls.

No way mere SMG bullets can pierce it.

While Theo could have reinforced the car so much more with his Midas Alchemy, he had no intention of revealing his trump card to Dorothy who would most certainly report it to Crow and the HAA

With that in mind, Theo quickly armed himself with the weapons of his latest victims. At the moment, he had 4 Uzis and 4 Glock G19s. Nothing to write home about but it was better than nothing.

One thing he did find interest in was the identity of their attackers.

All of them looked like regular civilians except for the large tatoo of a black book on their back.

The sight of these pleased Theo very much.

It looked like leaking the position of his bait was having the desired effect

“Theo! Are you alright?! Respond!” roared Dorothy through the coms.

“No need to shout. I’m fine. And it looks like our friends from the Black Bible Cult is hot on our trail.” replied Theo while he threw out the driver’s corpse and occupied the wheel.

“Tch. I was hoping these guys were just the standard garden variety mooks. I guess that was too much to ask.” said Dorothy with a calm that was born from massive amounts of life and death experiences. “Anyways, we need you here. These guys are keeping their distance. I cant get to them.”

“Roger that my love.”

“DONT CALL ME THAT!”

“Hugs and kisses.”

“SHUT UP!”

Theo slammed the pedal to metal and drove like a madman.

Fortunately for him, the drivers of Vermilion City was well acquainted with high speed shoot outs. They slowed down and moved to the sides of the road to avoid getting dragged into the chaos.

This allowed Theo to go on a straight line towards his objective.

Eventually he caught sight of Vivi’s car as they took an exit that led them to another highway that would pass under Theo.

Perfect.

Theo slowed down a bit while he watched the chase via his spy drones. He also smashed the window on the driver’s side in preparation for his next stunt

The moment the chase reached the highway below him, Theo slammed the accelerator and crashed SUV into the flimsy barrier.

He used his grappling gun and zipped to safety of the overpass as his SUV crashed on top of an enemy SUV and flattened everyone inside.

Theo fired 2 grappling hooks. One landed on the bumper of an enemy SUV while the other grabbed a door that flew off it hinges from the earlier crash.

He dropped from the bridge onto a passing 18 wheeler and used the door as a board to surf the steel and concrete waves.

“HAHAHAHA! Hell yeah! KAWABANGA MOTHERFUCKERS!” roared Theo

“You crazy bastard! I thought you killed yourself!” roared Dorothy.

“Hahaha! I have to knock you up first before even considering the thought of suicide!”

“Take this battle seriously damn it!”

“You call this a battle? I call this FUN!”

Theo surfed on top of vehicles and eventually landed on the highway. His grappling guns quickly pulled him towards the enemy SUV as it chased after Vivi’s car.

The enemies were too busy shooting like idiots to even notice Theo’s approach.

Theo jumped onto the back of the SUV and made sure not to lose his surf door.

This time, the enemies noticed Theo and began firing at him.

Theo climbed up the roof and used his surf door that was grinded to a sharp edge by the highway to guillotine one of the gunners who was leaning out of the windows.

“There’s a reason why your dad tell you not to stick your hand out of the window, dumbass!”

Theo thanked the surf door for its service jumped into the window.

He shot the one in the front seat in the head and pinned the one behind the driver onto the door.

Theo opened the door, grabbed the enemy’s head, shoved it into the pavement and painted the highway red.

The driver, who was trying to get a clear shot at Theo, was unceremoniously executed with a single bullet through the back of his head.

“One more to go.” said Theo as he threw out the driver’s corpse and occupied the seat.

As he was about to make his next move, the final enemy SUV exploded from the inside and a lion-like beast the size of a tank burst forth.

“Well…. Shit...”
