Chapter 130
A Dream Come True 10
-:-
30 minutes later
Hellhole District.
It has been stated many times before, but Theo was proud of how self aware he was.
He understood that he was a walking hypocrisy and has learned to work with it.
One particular hypocrisy that he enjoyed flaunting was that despite his desire for a utopia where humanity can live and thrive in peace, the the vast majority Theo has done to move towards that goal was to pile on the body bags.
And in all honesty, Theo enjoyed the combat very much.
It was like the ultimate video game that the garbage cookie cutter shooters of modern day FPS could never come close to replicating.
This was the feeling that went through Theo’s mind as his adamantium left arm punched through a small humanoid demon’s skull.
At the same time, he fired his Uzi in a wide arc to take out 5 more demons with well placed headshots.
Behind him, Dorothy was decking demons left and right with capoeira based spinning heel kicks.
Dorothy was a petite girl in every sense of the word.
While she was a CQC expert, her build lacked the muscle mass and weight to generate a punch strong enough to take down the demons in one hit.
And given the endless numbers spewing out of the blood pillars, they needed to take out the ones standing in their way ASAP.
As such, the heavy kicks of the capoeira gave her the umph she needed.
“This is impossible! There’s way too many of them!” screamed Phoebe as she fired the AK-47 Theo looted from the many corpses in the Hellhole District
Phoebe was accurate enough to take down 2 to 3 demons per volley. However, given the abundance of targets, the odds of missing was quite small.
“Just keep moving! Head for the tunnel in the mountains! That’s our way out of here!” replied Theo as he ripped one of the horns of the demon he just slew and threw it into the eye socket of a demon behind Vivi.
Speaking of Vivi, who along with Jennifer, were literally dead weight. Nevertheless, they were forced to wield firearms to defend themselves.
“Damn it all! This should have been a straight line to the Ecclesiarchy Cathedrals! Why the hell did those 3 blood pillars be in our way!” said Dorothy while landing a brutal knee into a demon’s face.
“The portals are the sites where rituals of great evils were performed! Given that the things coming out from it are nothing more than Fiends, I’d say the rituals were very minor!” said Vivi as he unloaded a clip full of his Glock G19 onto the incoming enemy.
A Fiend was the weakest type of demon.
It was nothing more than a cluster of mana that was given form by some random emotion. It was the most numerous of all demons and often act as both vanguards and meatshields whenever a demon invasion occurs.
This was the reason why despite their unending numbers, Theo’s group was able to plow through them.
At the moment, Theo’s group was running away from their original destination due to the large concentration of demons right in the middle
For some reason, the demons were disintegrating the moment they entered the Ecclesiarchy area.
This was because of some holy artifacts the Ecclesiarchy had enshrined in their grounds. These artifacts had the effect of dispelling all magic within its AOE. While this prevented the Ecclesiarchy warriors from using any form of magic, this also meant that the enemies suffered the same fate.
And seeing how demons were beings of magic, their very existence would be obliterated within the Ecclesiarchy grounds.
While stronger demons could resist it somewhat, it only delayed the inevitable.
This was the safest place to hide Jennifer Veila who was being pursued by a magic based cult.
However, the circumstances has forced their group to take a more roundabout route to get their destination.
Their new path was to get to the tunnel where Theo and Pastor Biajo fought the Black Bible Cult a few days ago.
During the planning stages of Theo’s plan, that area was purged and sanctified to the best and most brutal methods of the Ecclesiarchy. This was to ensure that no Hellgate would sprout from that area.
If they get there, they win.
Theo’s group ran as fast as they could through the maze-like alleys of the Hellhole district.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
At the helm of the group was Phoebe and her AK-47. She was to take path that lead away from any blood pillars.
Her touch based clairvoyance allowed her to detect potential hotspots whenever she touched a pool of blood or dismembered body parts.
In the middle of the formation was Vivi and Jennifer.
Jennifer was useless, but Vivi was invaluable. His powerful healing abilities has already saved their group more times than they could count.
Theo only wished that his good friend was physically fit enough to run for extended periods of time. He and Jennifer were the slowest of their group, thus dictated the pace of how fast they could run.
The rearguard were manned by Theo and Dorothy. Since they were moving away from any Hellgates, the demons would often chase them once they get within visual range.
As such, it was the backline that often got swarmed.
Despite having all of their combat prowess at the backline, it wasn't like the front or sides were not defended.
Thanks to the multiple surveillance cameras in Theo’s armor, his nearly 360 view range allowed him to spot and blast the enemies before they could approach.
Dorothy could easily zip in with her grappling gun to provide some extra muscle when the event arose.
As they moved through the alleyways, the ground shook and a bunch of high decibel roars forced the group to stop
“What do you see Phoebe?” asked Theo without dropping his vigilance.
“There are 3 lesser demons fighting against a minotaur in the plaza.” reported Phoebe. “We should let them fight it out while we go around.”
“A minotaur?..... Oh shit!”
Theo rushed forward and poked his head out of cover.
True enough, it was a minotaur that Theo was very familiar with.
He searched for a weapon with more punch, and was fortunate to find a corpse that had a double barrel Elephant Gun and its corresponding big game hunter bullets.
Perfect.
“Stay here and keep low!” said Theo as he rushed out of cover and looted the corpses
“Theo! What the hell are you doing?!” asked Dorothy
“That minotaur is a friend of mine! He’ll be an excellent addition to the team!”
The 3 meter tall minotaur was being attacked by 3 2 meter tall lesser demons from all sides. While the minotaur was doing a good job keeping himself alive, he was outnumbered and was slowly getting torn apart
The lesser demons attacked from the front, side and back.
The minotaur was able to punch the one at the front, but the one at the side was able to grab his arms and the one at the back bit him in the neck.
The one in the back had its brains blown out of its head.
Noticing the sudden help, the minotaur headbutted the one that grabbed its arm and sent it flying with a well placed uppercut.
The minotaur turned to Theo and spoke…
“Kid?”
“Diego! Grab something big and let's end this quick!” replied Theo
With a nod, the minotaur grabbed a concrete telephone pole and rushed at the enemy with Theo behind him.
The lesser demons rushed in to attack, but one at the front had its kneecaps torn to shreds with a well placed shot.
Before it could recover, the minotaur’s telephone pole club turned its head into paste.
The other lesser demon bit into the minotaur’s arm, but Theo blew its lower jaw off before it could do any damage.
And just like its brethren, the lesser demon was turned into a dirty smudge on the ground with a telephone pole to the skull.
With that done, Theo and the minotaur breath a sigh of relief.
“Nicely done as always Diego.” said Theo
“Kid. Good. See. You” replied the minotaur named Diego.
Diego’s shapeshifting into a minotaur made him a little bit stupid. However, the power he gained more than made up for it.
“Haven't seen you in a while man. Where have you been?”
“Daughter. Move here. Next week. Looking for apartment.”
“Oh. You did say that she was going to be an HAA student.”
“Yes.”
“Then I got your back man. Once this whole crap is over, I’ll help you get an apartment on the safer side of the city for cheap.”
“Thanks. Kid.”
“No prob man. That’s what friends are for. We help each other out.” said Theo as he signalled Vivi’s group to come. “Anyways, can you help me and my group for a bit? I know an escape route but getting there has not been easy.”
“Sure.” replied Diego
“Theo… who is this guy?” asked Dorothy with a hint of suspicion in her voice
“Oh. This guys is Diego. A good friend of mine. Just to be clear though, he’s a Druid of Horn spellcaster” said Theo
“Oh! I’ve heard that druids are capable of metamorphosis. But the only ones I’ve seen are Quille Druid of Fang shapeshifters.” said Vivi with great interest.
Theo couldn't help but feel a bit guilty at Vivi’s words.
Theo had a run in with the Quilles before in Alkebulan…. And he might have driven them into the brink of extinction.
“Enough talking. We’re still in the danger zone here. Let’s get a move on.” said Dorothy in impatience.
“Right you are my future baby momma!” replied Theo
“Dont call me that!” raged Dorothy, which Theo ceremoniously ignored
“Anyways, Diego, can you carry the pretty boy and the flashy looking girl? They’re kind of slow on their legs.” said Theo
“Hey! Dont ignore me!” Dorothy continued raging
“Yes. Were. To?” asked Diego
“Remember the first job we did together? That’s the one we’re heading to.” said Theo
Dorothy grabbed Theo by the shoulders and forced him to look at her.
“You bastard! Don't think just because you- HMMMMPHH!!!” said Dorothy before Theo french kissed her into oblivion.
Dorothy tried to push away Theo, but her resistance eventually died down.
A few seconds later, Dorothy was on her knees. Exhaustion and euphoria was plastered all over her face.
“Diego, make that 3 people. They shouldn't be a problem, right?” said Theo
“Yes. Kid. You. Pervert.” replied Diego as he took Vivi, Jennifer and Dorothy into his arms.
“Guilty as charged. Let’s not waste time my friend. I’ll follow behind via grappling gun and give cover. Don't hold back and run as fast as you can.”
With a vigorous nod, the Diego express dashed forward with full gusto.
Compared to the Quille wolf shapeshifters, Diego was much slower.
However, the raging minotaur was practically a bulldozer that brutally trampled anyone stupid enough to stay on his path.
Blood, gore and severed limbs were left in Diego’s wake.
Diego was so effective at goring everything in his path that Theo hardly got a chance to use the Elephant Gun.
Quite a shame, really.
Like muscle cars, the Elephant Gun was made for MEN!
As the duo through the Hellhole district, massive roar echoed from the distance. The earth shook as something big and heavy crashed through the buildings like a wrecking ball.
More importantly, it was making a beeline towards Theo’s group.
Theo stopped on top of a 3 story building and used the binocular function of his right eye to zoom in on the new arrival.
It was hard to describe the 5 meter tall beast due to its demonic visage. However, the closest comparison Theo could think off was that of a hairless gorilla with a big mount and a very long tongue.
But the most important feature of the 5 meter tall gorilla was the thing on its head.
There was a naked woman who’s lower body was fused into the gorilla’s forehead.
She was a beautiful woman with long red hair and a creepy yet seductive allure.
Theo’s heart began beating faster.
His muscles tightened and a carnivorous smile bloomed on his face.
She was finally here!
The woman of his dreams!
It was thanks to her, Theo’s eyes were opened to the truth of the world
It was only her that Theo had the most intense desire to rip apart in the cruelest manner possible.
“The Priestess of Cain… how long have I dreamed of finally getting my hands on you!”
