Chapter 37
Heroic Bloodshed 6
-:-
1 Hour Later
Hellhole District
While Theo exited the Doctor’s clinic with all the swag and confidence of a badass, he was internally cursing his stupidity.
The doctor sent over some info on Theo’s targets and it made him groan while reading through them
The Shigetsu Clan was considered a ‘medium’ sized yakuza clan.
However, ‘medium’ meant that they had about 300+ people in their ranks.
And this didn’t include their allies, hired guns and other potential informants that they could utilize.
And to make matters worse, the Shigetsu Clan was one of the many many sub branches of the massive yakuza groups in Zifang.
Theo wasn’t sure if destroying the Shigetsu would incur the wrath of their parent companies.
The Yakuza wasn’t as disorganized and chaotic as the Triads, and this could be problematic for Theo.
On the other hand, the Cloud Bridge Monastery was a different form of headache.
True to typical Jade Imperial mindset, nearly all cultivation monasteries were competing with each other.
If Theo attacked one, the others would probably let it burn.
The problem lies on the fact that cultivators were generally much stronger than normal humans.
As such, Theo could expect some heavy resistance on their part.
However, there’s a silver lining to all of this.
If the doctor’s info was accurate, most of the cultivators were below Asura’s level.
And those with enough strength to actually pose a threat were not immune to a bullet to the head.
Another good thing was that there were no hostilities between Theo and the cultivators.
He can put off attacking them for now.
No need to fight on two fronts if he could help it.
For now, he had to find a way to deal Shigetsu Clan.
“Hey Theo, we have a problem” Juno whispered to Theo’s ear.
Theo snapped out of his musing and surveyed his surroundings.
Though the general populace were going about their business, he could spot a hint of fear in their rushed movements.
Unlike the ‘I should stay away from The Boss’ fear they displayed earlier, it was something in the lines of ‘there’s a bomb that’s going to explode here, so I better run away’ type of fear.
“As you’d expect of the Yakuza. They reacted way too quickly” said Theo as he activated all the spy drones and the armory drone that he brought with him.

“I can feel a lot of killing intent spreading. Maybe they’re trying to surround us” said Juno.
“Ho? Is that the instincts that I’ve been hearing about?” asked Theo.
“Something like that. Well then, this will be the first we’ll be fighting together. Shall I show these uncivilized monkeys what true power looks like?” said Juno as she wore the comms on hear ears
“Show me what you got.” replied Theo
There were about 70 enemies that were following them.
30 walked 15 meters behind the two.
20 were briskly walking on the small alleys on both sides of the duo.
At the moment, they were on a U formation with those on the sides trying to encircle the duo.
Naturally, the duo had no intention of going along with their plan.
Following Theo’s instructions, Juno used her grappling gun to scale a nearby 2 story building. At the same time, she threw 2 frag grenades at the 30 behind them.
The Yakuzas and all the nearby bystanders desperately scrambled away.
As Theo hoped for, the panic resulted in a violent stampede that killed 4 Yakuzas and about 10 bystanders.
At this point, Theo unsheathed a Beretta 92 pistol and killed 3 fleeing Yakuza with headshots.
He could have taken out more if he fired indiscriminately, but there was no point in making enemies with the bystanders.
The grenade landed but there was no BOOM.
This was because Theo instructed Juno to not pull the pin with the same reason as him not firing like a lunatic.
The yakuzas on the alleys heard the gunfire and rushed to the main group’s aid.
This was a mistake.
While on the roof top, Juno threw 3 frag grenades into the group that was farthest from her.
There were many tight alleys that connected the side alleys to the main street where Theo was.
This constricted area magnified the grenade’s power.
In an instant, 10 people turned to mincemeat.
3 were severely wounded and would probably die in a few minutes.
Satisfied with this result, Juno drew her HF Blade jumped into the alley where she was closest to and landed in the middle of the 20 yakuza reinforcements.
Before the yakuza could react, Juno cleaved the nearest enemy in half.
She then proceeded into a bloody frenzy and attacked anyone within reach.
The yakuza tried to counter with their pistols but immediately regretted it as 3 of them died due to friendly fire.
Some drew their daggers and went for melee combat only to be butchered by Juno.
And similar to a hot knife through butter, Juno’s HF blade went through the dagger and the yakuza like they were nothing.
In a few short seconds, Juno chewed through 8 yakuzas with visceral fury.
Some tried to escape to the main street, but was cut off when Theo rushed in with guns blazing.
Juno was trapped between a group of 4 and 5 yakuzas.
The 5 yakuzas was trapped between Juno and Theo.
The 4 had a very clear exit behind them.
The 5 tried to charge through Theo but 3 were gunned down from the front and 2 were torn apart by Juno at the back.
Due to the sheer violence displayed in front of them, the 4 completely abandoned the notion of attacking Juno while her back was turned and just ran for their lives.
“After them Juno!” said Theo as he ran
“Yes darling”
“Don’t call me darling! And wasn’t being mute part of your setting?!”
“Fu fu fu”
The 4 ran into the small alley they initially started in.
Unfortunately for them, the alley didn’t allow any area to maneuver.
It was like fish in a barrel.
As Theo ran, he opened fire and blew the head of the one farthest from him.
The body of the collapsing yakuza caused the others to jump over him.
This slowed them down just enough for Juno to catch up with the slowest one and drive her HF blade into his back before violently forcing it up all the way to his skull, then down to his groin, effectively cleaving him in half.
While Juno was enjoying herself, Theo blew the head off the last 2 yakuzas.
“Don’t stop running Juno.” Said Theo as he stepped over the dead yakuzas.
Juno did as she was told but she didn’t hide her confusion.
“Err… Why are we going this way? There are no people to kill this way. Well, actually there are a lot of them if you count the bystanders. I guess I don’t mind killing them too, but I prefer if they at least offer some futile resistance.” Replied Juno as she ran beside Theo
“Don’t worry, you’ll get your fill of blood later. For now, we need to get out of Hellhole as fast as possible”
“Huh? Care to elaborate?”
“We’re in the disadvantage here. They might not be the richest, but the Shigetsu clan has enough financial power to put a decently sized bounty on our heads. If the doctor’s info is correct, these yakuzas put way too much emphasis on brotherhood and loyalty. The Shigetsu leader will most certainly do whatever means necessary to kill us, especially after we killed 30+ of his grunts.”
“Ah. Now I understand. If they have money, they have influence. And that influence could bring down on us a decent size of the Hellhole populace on us. Am I right?”
“Yeah. The mission to get the Khlyst will have to be postponed. Today, we have to fight our way out of Hellhole”
“An all you can eat buffet huh? Nice! I like it!”
