Unfortunately, things had devolved to this point. Yes, it was time for a freakin' Imp episode.
It's not as bad as the upcoming Ifrit or Shell-Shock Bug Guy episodes, things aren't that dire yet, but trust me. There's only so much gas left in the well.
... I'm sure one day Mikey will show up again. (Shudder.)
Tofu was already frowning. The best work days are the days he didn't have to do any work at all. As far as bosses went, Imp was a real 'ball buster.'
"Alright fuckos, we're gonna go kill some fucks."
"We don't use swears here, Imp. This isn't that kind of anime." Tofu nerdishly informed his boss like the little dweeb he is.
Imp looked up as he pondered this for a moment, before mumbling something that sounded like "Oh, that's right..."
"Alright buckos, we're gonna go kill some fucks."
Tofu nodded his head. That was much better!
Pebbles and a few other assorted goons were assembled for this job. Pointy Girl sighed and decided it was up to her to expedite this along. She had plans to take a super huge dump after work, and the sooner this stupidity could be over and done with, the better.
"So who are we gonna kill boss." Just like that, flat affect, no commas, no question mark.
"Glad you asked, Pointy." He threw a dart at a board labeled 'Plot Contrivances', and it landed on a section called 'Teens selling meth to the elderly.' "Yeah, these fucks have really crawled up in there, I'm so mad. Let's move out!"
He turned to Tofu and remarked: "Tofu, you're our best murder guy. So try to leave a couple of these poor bastards for the rest of us."

Larry had been having a hard time of things. His grandmother had been put in old people prison, also known as a 'retirement home', on account of having dementia.

Larry had to shudder at the dark connotations of the euphemism. 'Retirement.' Makes you think you'll fall into a blender or get gassed the second you walk in the front door.
That sort of thing might happen elsewhere, but thankfully... things weren't that bad in this section of Fortress City. Not yet.
But then one day his friend triggered, and got a pharmaceutical power. With just a plausible, hand-wavey theory he was able to create medicine capable of targeting any disease. Combined with Larry's talent of being able to look things up on Wikipedia, this duo was able to do amazing things.
For example, after making up some bullshit about exosomes, they had a potion that could not only reverse dementia, but seemed to have anti-aging properties as well.
Larry could only smile at how well things have been going. A few more weeks of treatments, and his grandmother should be as healthy as anyone in their mid-thirties. She was the only one who took care of him, when his parents abandoned him. His only family in the whole world. He wanted to pay her back.
The absolute bank he and Ben would make selling potions to the elderly wouldn't hurt, either. They'd save the world, and get themselves out of poverty to boot. He never thought he'd have a happy ending, but here he was. He smiled at his buddy, probably a little too much (Ben scrunched his eyebrows as if saying 'What's his problem') and looked ahead to the old folk's home. At this point, nothing could possibly go wrong.
It was at this point a truck rolled up in front of them, cutting off the path between them and the La Castille Confinement Facility #12. And some weirdo in a red mask hanging out a window pointed at them using two fingers.
"There's the fucks!"
