We went through the streets unbothered until we came before the hospital.
There were people already waiting for the doctor or any kind of medical assistance. They were strewn all around the entrance and the hallway.
It took a while until we got to the Doctor. Meanwhile we stripped off all the armour Stella had.
"I didn't expect to see you here at this time." The Doc said as we went into the clinic.
"I would rather not see you this way."
"Stella will be fine, right?" Charlotte said as she tugged on my sleeve.
"Yeah, she'll be all right. Don't worry girl. Nothing bad will happen to her. Emily can you."
I watched as Emily took Charlotte with her outside the room in hand some bandages and other medical supplies.
As the doors closed, I saw the Doc closing his eyes for a bit and breathing. Not long after he got to work.
"Can you act as my assistant while you're here?"
"Only for Stella, nothing else."
"That's. It's enough. Although it would be best if you stayed to help. But I'm probably asking too much. No?"
"I have a plan. Just tell me when she's gonna wake up and I'm out of here."
"That'll take maybe two days."
"What? You can't be serious."
"Okay, one day at best if the god you believe in is with you two." He said as he finished checking up on her.
"Now, I'll need you to help me stop the bleeding as I'll pull out the spear." He said and pulled out the spear that was sticking out, acting as a plug keeping Stella somewhat alive.
The moment it was out I grabbed bandages while the Doc was sprinkling some white powder and herbs into the wound.
"What's that?"
"The white stuff is called Scar powder and it's for quickly sealing the skin. It's called that way because of the hideous scars it leaves behind."
"What about the herbs?"
"That's what I should be asking you. You should have studied that much by now."
I scratched my neck at that and gave him a goofy smile.
"Finish bandaging her and you can do what you want." He said as he was about to leave the room I said to him.
"You're not gonna stop me?"
Without turning his back, he said. "Why should I? I'm not your father or anything. I saw plenty of adventurers, you're just like one of them. Headstrong, believing... Look if you by some miracle survive all of this. Then take this and return it to a small alchemy shop in the capital."
He said as he tossed a medallion my way. It was made out of silver with engravings on the exterior. It looked like it could be opened but there was no lock to be found.
"I'll make sure to deliver it. Is it for someone special to you? Maybe some secret lover of yours."
"It's complicated."
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"So, it’s a lover." At that he turned around to glare at me.
"No, it's not."
"I'll see about that."
"Whatever as long as you're happy. Even though I'll be more happy if you had that shit eating grin because of somebody else." He said and stepped out of the room. I guess I got a quest.
I found a chair and sat down. Except my thoughts the rumble and quaking of the ground from outside was heard.
*
I woke up from my reverie. Before me stayed a system message, notifying me of what happened.
[ Class change successful ]
Before I could even do anything else I went next to Doc. Still a lying corpse on the ground and I searched him. I found and picked up the pendant I somehow didn't manage to pick up the first time.
What the hell did I get some shrooms or what? What kind of mind fuck magic is this shit.
Having no clue I inspected silver pendant.
[ Silver pendant
Quality: common]
Having no clue, I focused on the new changes that the class brought.
The moment I stepped out of the sun that was shining through the cracks of the window I felt my body becoming calmer. As if it was natural.

I watched as my hands became see through. I moved them a bit and saw as they changed with the new environment.
I became a chameleon at least in the dark, but a chameleon nonetheless.
I checked Stella's status and saw her HP up to one hundred. I wasted no more time and dropped her off on the clinic bed.
I picked up hospital tools from the ground and washed away the blood and other contaminants that were on it. With everything set up I took a step forward. Without any warning I ripped out the spear and continued as if I had a Deja vu.
Every step of the operation flowed between my fingers just like the suturing needle. In the corner of my vision, I watched her HP draining until I was done and saw her HP stabilize. Signalling my success.
I fed her another healing potion and everything was done.
I changed all her clothes; removed all the armour other than the torso armour and helmet she had trousers I picked from one of the corpses.
It was all meant to reduce her weight. No offense, but having extra 30 kilos on your back is not something I want right now. When that was done, I tied her with ropes and cloth I found to my back.
I had to leave my backpack behind, but it was a small sacrifice. I strapped the spear to her and we were ready to go.
I went out the Hospital door and saw the last defence taking place near the main gate.
I paid it no mind as I started going for the armoury, looking for some arrows.
I walked through the town fires were started everywhere. No care for the damage it will cause to the potential loot.
Yet these Possessed cared not for such thing as materials. Other than one material, that are bodies. Bodies of everyone that fell, that can be grafted for more power. Bodies of everyone living that can be turned into more Possessed.
I rushed through the streets keeping away from the rising sun's rays. It took me no more than 5 minutes to reach the armoury. Even without entering I heard the sounds of fighting coming from within.
I barged into the building next to it and rushed to the second floor into the first room on my right. Not paying attention to the rubble that was all around I made sure to secure the door and dropped Stella off on the table.
I took out my dagger and held it between my teeth. I leapt through the open window landing on the opposite wall. I gripped onto the bars windowsill and started making my way to a favourable position.
I peeked through one of the windows and saw a group of four militias in the corridor in the middle. Guarding each other from the group of seven Possessed.
I swung myself upward and landed with both of my feet on the windowsill. Having no arrows and no way to open the window, I jumped through it the broken shards hitting the floor alerting everybody of my descent.
