We were fighting a 5th group of enemies. By this point it was a breeze getting rid of the enemies. A few stabs of the spear here and there to inflict wounds to their legs.
They would then split up with their leader, because of the difference in speed. At that point Stella would go for a feint. The moment the skeleton took the bait I would release my arrow. Rendering it dead or unable to continue fighting, if that happened Stella would take it down.
With this group it was no different.
Stella got her [ Warriors body ] upgraded 3 times thanks to all the hunting we did. As for me I got mine [ Quick ] levelled up completely.

" We're nearing the centre."
" How can you tell?"
" The houses are no more here. Instead, the occasional gravestones took their place."
" Your point being, since they are skeletons. They have to come from a graveyard."
" Well, they come from the relic in the centre."
" So, and that relic is somewhere in the graveyard guarded by an enemy."
" Yes."
" So, what're we gonna do about that enemy?"
" When we get there, we'll see about that. There's no point talking about it cause the enemy can be anything."
We matched through the graveyard. It was a quiet place except for the sound of our footsteps. There weren't any skeletons found wandering around.
But the other strange thing was the lack of names or engravings of any kind on the gravestones. If they weren't in the shape of one it would be hard to tell what it means to portray.
It was like someone's lack of detail took over. But I didn't have to wonder for far too long before we came in front of a tomb.
The entrance was a pair of statues. Both holding each other as if trying to keep the doors shut. Shame on them, that relic's going to be mine no matter what.
" No time to waste Stella. Let's go."
" How about you go by yourself and I guard the entrance. You know, so skeletons don't ambush you while you're exploring or fighting." She said and gripped her spear to her body.
" That's so noble of you. But I think it'll be better if we don't split up. I heard it's a good rule if you don't want to get killed." I said and started to go through the gate.
" You know what. Yeah, let's do that and no, not die." She said and hurried behind me.
We found ourselves in a passage with stairs at the end. Everything was smooth, the rocks of which everything was constructed with were irregular, yet in place like they were destined for it to fit.
We walked through this passage. At first it seemed to end behind the stairs, but it just continued to drag on until we came upon a second door.
It was a plain stone door.
" You ready? The moment we open this door anything can happen we can find ourselves in a fight or activating a trap."

" Does it matter at this point what I say? Don't worry the moment something scary pops out I'm running out."
" Would you be so heartless as to leave me to fend for myself?"
" Yes, yes I would."
" No hesitation?"
" No hesitation." She nodded at me.
" You could have at least feinted some worry."
" Then let me try." She coughed a few times and said. " I hope my prince charming will be fine. After all what would I do without him. There's no other way, but for me to help him in his quests no matter what it takes. Better?"
I stared at her. " Please I beg you don't ever try that again."
" Why? I think that was perfect."
" Perfect my ass. Okay, okay now back to the matter at hand. Are you prepared?"
" As much as I'd like to say no. I guess, I am."
At that moment I opened the door.

We waited for anything to happen, but nothing did.
" That was kind of a let-down." she said.
" Let's be glad that nothing happened. But it's not over yet. Be careful when you're exploring."
" Wow, you being cautious. That's new. But don't worry I get it. I won't touch anything."
I nodded at her and we went in. There a sarcophagus was in the middle of the spacious room. Right behind it an altar with glowing runes was waiting. On it was laid down a ring.
" I'm going to sneak to the altar and get the relic. Yes, in that case you can stay here."
" Finally, you've said something smart."
I ignored her and moved on. I went around the sarcophagus. It was a piece of art, with jewels inserted in a mural. It was depicting the cycle of life. With jewels of different colours depicting each stage.
I got to the altar grabbed the ring.
[ Spite ]

Trait: Poison master - All your attacks inflict poison damage. Drop a droplet of poison onto the ring for you to change the poison.
Current poison: Basic poison- -1HP per 5 seconds.
Stored poisons: Basic poison
And nothing happened. Except the runes stopped glowing.
I looked at Stella and gave her a thumbs up to reassure her. But I saw the door behind her close and a hollow sound was heard.
The sarcophagus lid was being opened. I backed up to Stella.
" Was this supposed to happen?"
" No, but it's not beyond ordinary. " I replied. " I'm surprised that you didn't leave me here."
" I still don't know how to get out remember."
" Yeah, I forgot. But isn't the true reason because you like me."
I watched as her fist came to my face before she clutched her head.
" Who'd like you? Even now I'm sorry for your future wife."
" Hey that's mean."
A strike of a metal against the ground was heard. A skeleton with a spear in one hand and a metal shield in the other got visible before us. With the first step he took torches were lit that were in the corners of the room.
The light was being reflected in its plated armour. In the holes of its helmet the faint flame was swaying.
I shot an arrow at it. Only for it to be blocked with the shield. It didn't even register the impact as the spearman came walking towards us. Step by step it got closer.
" Hey what's the plan, now?"
" Fight it dummy."
" Obviously, but how?"
" By the fact it has a speed comparable to that of a normal skeleton. It's likely we're just dealing with a Tier 1 skeleton."
" If not?"
" We'll deal with it later. Now please can you attack it."
Stella sprinted at the spearman. Their spears clashed few times, but she was being pushed back as she had no chance of blocking some hits. When she managed to get a hit, without it being blocked by the shield. It would just bounce off.
I went around them shooting arrows any chance I had. But all of them bounced of. I activated the bow's ability. It penetrated the chest plate armour, but didn't manage to get to the bones.
As It seen me being able to go beyond its plate armour it looked my way. But Stella took that opportunity and stabbed at its joint. The armour there is the weakest to enable a free movement.
She pierced it, but before she could retrieve the spear the skeleton's spear tip glowed a bit as he did a fast swing. Cutting along Stella’s body.
Stella -60HP
" Take this." I said and shot my fully drawn bow. The Durability fell by one more point to 8.
The side of its helmet got pierced. It shrugged of the wound took the spear from its body. And threw it at me.
" Motherfucker."
The spear flew my way as I was dodging, but it got me.
-40HP
My arm went limp as I had a spear stuck in it. I dropped my bow as I wouldn't be able to fight with it. Just then I saw Stella taking out her sword and dagger and throwing on it's back.
She hugged the skeleton with her legs and tried to stab it in the eyes. The skeleton had no choice but to give up its spear to try and reach her with it's hand.
I saw my opportunity to help and sprinted forward. I took the spear from the ground. The skeleton was powerless to stop me as it had other things to worry about.
" Stella hold his hand with the shield for me."
As she did so I stepped forward and stabbed the spear into its shoulder. Now with only one hand to worry about and no shield, I held its other hand while Stella managed to keep its head in one place and deliver the final blow.
