We were running down the street, heading to the Doc. Along the way the people were going outside their buildings and running in one direction. It was all because of the shouts that permeated the air.
"The walls have been breached we must go to the Dungeon! It's our only chance to survive."
Some people were shouting on a makeshift podium made out of market boxes. All the while families without their fathers fled.
All his made our path more difficult. The people were pushing and shoving each other like there was no tomorrow. Truth be told, if they didn't there may be no tomorrow for them.
I maintained a firm grip on Stella while Charlotte was at the front of us in my sight trying with all her might to get through the horde.
Street after street we were pushed along. Until we were going on a particular street. Where I saw a small carriage.
Kids were being forced inside. That's when I felt it the sickening feeling in my chest. I looked down only to see a tip from a dagger poking out.
-30HP
Each time I breathed in it was as if I was breathing chemical fumes. I felt light-headedness overtake me.
I saw Charlotte being dragged off by men wearing cloaks all the while the crowd of people done nothing.
Before I lost my Consciousness I let my mind wander into my system interface. Looking for anything that would make my death by bleeding out that much further from me.
I dumped all my points into END making it go all the way up to 24.
*
Okay, cunts now you did it. One wants to enjoy a quiet life level up some, have maybe something of a family. But you've fucked it up. Wonderful.
I pulled out my system.
Name: Raven
Class: Archer
LVL: 10/10 EXP:1000/1000
HP:26/240 MP:200/200
AGI: 26 DEX: 22
END: 24 INT: 20
STR: 24 WIS: 20
I selected the level up button and bundles of lights jumped out of the system and circled all around me. Each one was a class on it's own. Some were better some worse.
I wasted no time as I pulled myself up and all the while dragging Stella headed for the Doc's office. Now the way was all clear. But too silent, not a rustle of dogs or anything.
The striking of metal against metal, was the only thing reassuring me of not the complete fall of the town.
[ Hunter ]
Quality: common
Description: Masters of the waiting game. With their well thought out plans and traps can take down any foe. In the right hands that is.
[ Sniper ]
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Quality: common
Description: Long ranged fighters capable of striking from great distances without being seen.
[ Assassin ]
Quality: common
Description: Masters of shadows and disguise they possess unappareled means to blend in with the surroundings.
These were the least striking of the bunch. This whole class system functioned based on what the player did. Meaning in game it was encouraged halting one's progress and do some great feats or grind some skills.
I browsed through all the classes that were available to me when I arrived before the hospital, I had picked out two red ones and one green. I left them before me and burst into the hospital.
It would do me no good getting a class right away as in game it took some time. Mainly it did a showcase and uses of all the skills obtained.
" Is there anyone here? Emily?"
" Doc?"
I shouted, but not a voice responded back.
I continued on. Rooms were left abandoned except some unfortunate soldiers that were already dead.
In the mix were some bodies of the Possessed.
I opened the door to the Doctor's room.
There I saw a faint silhouette of a person, right behind the curtain. On the ground was a thick layer of blue blood.
" Doc?"
I saw the figure move a bit before it lunged at me through the curtain.
I had no time to think as I struck with my dagger against the assailant.
I felt my dagger make contact, but I was thrown backwards from the force.
I had no other choice, but to let go off Stella.
In the fall the assailant revealed itself to be a Possessed.
-10HP
He sunk his claws in my legs as I pulled out my knife and plunged it into his heart.
I rolled his body of me as I heard the sweet sound of the system notification. I tried moving my legs, but every movement proved to be painful.
HP 5
I crawled towards the medical cabinet as I saw my HP ticking by the minute.
HP 4
I reached for the handle, but using all of my power I could muster I couldn't open it as I didn't have the key. I smashed it with my knife, but nothing.
HP 3
This is how I die like a nobody. Bled out in some shitty town that no one knows of and no one cares about. Just like me.
I laid my back against the hard cabinet door and looked at my tomb.
With bodies all over the floor I would be just another one of them and Stella would be soon to follow me.
That's when I saw it behind the curtain there was more of the corpses, soldiers and Possessed alike there laid Doc.
HP 2
I crawled over to him. He laid there haggard, sword in hand on it pierced a Possessed's head. He died protecting his patients and with them by his side as one of them.
I looked through his pockets and found the keys.
HP 1
I crawled back and opened the closet. There I saw a bunch of potions. I grabbed the red one and downed it like my life depended on it.
Which it did. Silly me.
I waited a bit to see what'll happen. When I saw my HP go up by one, I sighed. The adrenaline wore off and I started feeling light headed once again.
I pushed through it and grabbed one more potion and was about to get it to Stella, but how now that she's unconscious.
I thought of kissing her and giving her the potion that way, but I saw a feeding tube here that I could use.
The moment I gave her the potion her HP started increasing from 40. I'll wait a bit before getting rid of the spear inside her. If I rip it out now, she'll just bleed out.
While waiting for her HP to heal I bandaged all my wounds and applied different powders that I know could speed up the skin sealing process.
It was no fun feeling my skin as it crawled to close my wounds.
The only good thing was that after a while I was back on my feet. I sat next to Doc.
"You could have escaped, but you chose to stand here."
I gave him a bump on the shoulder, perhaps looking for an answer. But it never came.
"We didn't know each other, but I promise you. I'll take more of the blue bastards to grave. That I'll promise you. So, excuse me." I said as I started searching his body.
Perhaps I said that all just to make myself not feel so guilty, but that doesn't change the fact that I'll make a better use of the things than him now. No matter how hypocritical it may sound.
I found a couple of things on him.
[ Alchemy bomb
Quality: uncommon
Damage: 100~
Makes a explosion in a small location.]
That would explain why there was blood all over the ground but a minimum of remains.
I also grabbed his sword and pocketed all the money he got on him. And also on the others can't let the blue bastards have that. That would be a waste, as they can't use it.
Now with everything settled I sat down on the ground next to Stella and finished my selection.
[ Shadow
Quality: Rare
Description: Like the shadow that follows you.
Masters of silent kills without anyone noticing. If you be one their target they have means to trailing you wherever you are.]
This one seemed to be a split between the Hunter and Assassin.
[ Heart piercer
Quality: Rare
Description: A one who's shot never misses, always aims for the most damage. Masters of killing multiple enemies.]
I pondered, but for a while upon my choices and selected my destiny.
I won't fall like you did as they won't be able to tell what hit them.
