Exiting the burrow, he found an all too familiar scene. The frogs were winning, beating back his brethren, slipping into the pond and then attacking from both the front and back. The frogs clearly had some basic form of tactics. There was something confusing him though. Weren’t his kind supposed to be proficient in lightning? As best he could see most of the magic was coming from the frog’s side. Most of the rabbits were fighting with physical attacks and the few magical attacks they did throw out were... well… weak. “Is it really that hard to use magic?”
Hopping to the edge of the pond closest to the burrow and away from the fight he saw there were several young bunnies drinking slowly while keeping an eye on the battle, ready to flee at a moment’s notice. Glancing at them he figured they must have just reached level 5. Did drinking from the pond help with their growth? Something to think about later. For now, there was some testing to do. Focusing once more on his mana, this time he drew on the strand that reminded him of static electricity, lightning affinity. The water affinity never stopped flowing throughout his body, keeping [MANA BODY] active. Instead of willing the lightning mana through his body, this time he willed it out and into the pond with all his might, wanting it to go as far as it could and even harm the frogs already in the pond if possible.
CRACKLE, ZZZZZZTTT. Huh?

Every frog in the pond suddenly stopped moving and floated to the surface. The frogs closest to him had died instantly. The notifications showed seventeen kills. There was clearly more than quadruple that number of frogs in the pond. After the glow of the attack faded two things happened. The bunnies immediately noticed their advantage and jumped in to the pond to finish off the stunned monsters. And the remaining frogs on land turned and jumped away for their lives.
Wow. Glancing back at the kits beside him to make sure they weren’t accidentally injured, he saw them just stare at him looking dazed. They mostly looked alright. No harm done, to them at least anyway. Taking another look at his notifications he realised that he had an evolution pending. That was fast. Back to the burrow. No time to waste. This was so exciting.
Back in his family’s section of the burrow his Mother and siblings still slept soundly. Seeing the spot he had recently vacated still open, he teleported in and then lay down ready to evolve. Confirming on the screen the process began.
Select your evolution from the following options:
[ADOLESCENT HORNED RABBIT]
[ADOLESCENT HORNED RABBIT COMMANDER] – Title raised to [COMMANDER GENERAL]
[SOVEREIGN ADOLESCENT HORNED RABBIT] – Title raised to [BARON]
Well, well, well. It was clear which one was the best choice. Thinking over the options it kind of made sense the [ADOLESCENT HORNED RABBIT COMMANDER] evolution was probably because he joined the fight against the frogs and made such a big impact. The evolution to [SOVEREIGN ADOLESCENT HORNED RABBIT] was probably due to the fact that he had done it with so much overwhelming power, for his level. It also didn’t hurt that he had apparently killed the dungeon boss before his first evolution as well. Anyway, enough thinking. On to the actual choice.

“Yes!” he thought happily. So, there was another way to gain magical power. Just raise your noble rank somehow. Moving on.

You may bypass this limit by sacrificing a skill, skill point or attribute point.

Thinking through his choices he realised something awesome. He had lots of unspent skill points and attribute points saved up and with how powerful his magic was against the current enemies there was no need to worry about the attribute points for now. At least during this evolution anyway. With that in mind he took count of how many spare points he had to spend. 10 Skill Points and 4 Attribute Points. That’s 140% proficiency all on its own. With the 60% from ascending ranks that came to 200% to divvy up. Again. Nice.
