It was defence focused. It was extremely strong. And it was extremely, incredibly and painfully slow. After a few hours, the thing decided it was hungry. Instead of going for the small skulk of foxes not so hidden in a nest of vines near its territory, it instead headed for the maze of ridges and hid in a small alcove. Really well. This thing’s stealth had to be at the max for its level. From the moment it left the pond the lizard had been in stealth mode. Although he tried his best to follow the large monster with his eyes he felt like he was constantly losing track and couldn’t even observe it properly. Despite watching from the beginning the only reason he was able to sense the lizard’s location was due to his OP sight skills, [FARSIGHT] and [PANOPTIC VISION]. Both skills were being used at once, but he felt that because he was concentrating on two separate skills, neither of them were being utilised optimally.
One of the smaller creatures came scurrying along a nearby path. It ducked and weaved between the shadows trying to stay as inconspicuous as possible. In its efforts to remain unseen, the monster failed to notice the ambush predator waiting in its path. Continuing to focus on his unwieldy sight skills the rabbit absently wondered if he could manage to use them as one. It would make things so much easier.

Skill: [FARSIGHT] combined with Skill: [PANOPTIC VISION].
Skill: [FARSIGHT] and Skill: [PANOPTIC VISION] upgraded to Skill: [PANOPTIC FARSIGHT VISION].
He thought and the system answered. They had merged just like that. Amazing. It seemed like if he wanted something then he could have it. How convenient.
Shortly after his lucky upgrade the lizard turtle struck. The prey seemed to be some kind of possum monster that he hadn’t seen before. Although both monsters were creatures of stealth, the possum monster had lost. The smaller monster had tried to hide in the same alcove as the lizard as it travelled but had become lunch instead.
As its torso was locked inside the lizard turtle’s jaw it screamed bloody murder. All creatures in the immediate surroundings fled in fear. Even from where he crouched the scent of bloodlust from the lizard and skin tightening fear from everything else could be sensed. The entire cavern seemed to freeze with panic. His body trembled ready to flee at any moment but he dragged logic up to the front of his mind and held it up as a shield.

[AURA RESISTANCE] has reached Level 2
The screaming and screeching stopped as suddenly as it had started. In the distance the possum’s bones could be heard cracking and he saw the prey snapped in half. Man, this place was brutal. A few moments later the bloodlust dissipated and the sounds of battle could once again be heard throughout the cavern. Not losing sight of the stealthy lizard he watched as it dragged lunch back towards the pond for several hours before finally resting in its former state, half in and half out of the pond, and began to devour its meal.
For a while afterwards the little bunny was confused. Why had the big monster dragged its meal all the way back to its lair before consuming the possum? This became evident less than half an hour after the lizard turtle had finished its first meal. Turns out the first catch was only the entrée. Mr lizard turtle had dragged poor Mr possum monster’s bloody corpse on the ground all the way back home. This means that any of the stupider monsters that followed this trail looking for injured prey, which happened to be most of them by the way, would end up at the end of the trail right in front of a carefully concealed lizard turtle that was apparently still very hungry. Three frog monsters, two snake monsters and five rat monsters later the blood trail seemed to have dried enough that no more monsters bothered to follow it. Then the spiny hunter decided to sleep for a few hours, before the cycle started all over again.
Making his way back to the family burrow the little rabbit had finally decided on his plan. After a flap on the head from Mother for worrying her once again he snuggled in between his siblings and went over the plan one last time. Mr Lizard Turtle crawled the same trail every time he went to hunt prey. The hiding places were also all in the same vicinity. Mr Lizard Turtle never ate foxes, it always let them pass. All fox monsters lived in vines. Testing found that although thorny, the main problem with the vines was that they were poisonous. Level one in both [POISON RESISTANCE] and [PAIN RESISTANCE] had been gained from the experience as well as a grudge against all poison vines on the planet. It turns out poison isn’t great for your health and even causes extreme pain that can leave you unable to move. The foxes were smart, they partially lived off the vines making themselves inedible prey. Their Poison Resistance level must be through the roof.
So with all this information the plan was as follows, step one eat vines carefully until poison resistance is at least level five. Not exactly looking forward to that part. Step two raise digging level. Digging too slow could alert the monster of prey which was not ideal. Step three, dig underneath the monster’s regular trail making a deep hole that the ground will hold up against for most monsters but will collapse under the weight of Mr Lizard Turtle. Step four, collect vines and layer the deep hole with them, both on the ground and the walls of the hole. Step five, collect more vines and hide them in a nearby hole to toss on top of the hopefully trapped lizard monster. Foolproof. Maybe.
