No wonder his evolutions were good. [UNIQUE] grade was up there in regards to the power of grades. On another note, getting out from the sun had been a relief. If there was one thing the journey over had hammered home, it was that vampires and undead did not appreciate the sunlight. It made them drowsy and was way too bright for their super sensitive eyes. Vampires were regarded as only kind of undead, since they still had a beating heart despite dying.
Passing through the entrance of the dungeon felt like a safety net, even though the rabbit was attacked by a low levelled frog monster straight away. He was home. His family was here, and that was enough. Approaching the burrow made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The scent also made his mouth water, but the thirst was nowhere near as bad as the first day. Not only was he in complete control, but the urge now reminded him of smelling baking cookies. It was a nice aroma to have in the house, but you didn’t necessarily have to eat the cookies. How had his family been holding up while he was away? According to the lazy snake napping in their burrow, everyone was just fine. All the others were currently out levelling. The storm rabbit got a shock upon identifying [VASILIOS].
Monster – [SOVEREIGN’S AFFLICTION OROCHI BASILISK BUTLER] – [LEVEL 41]
That was a really long [RACE] name. Not only had his [RACE] changed, but so had the reptile himself. The snake had gone from being three metres long with dark green scales and light green eyes, to a ten metre monster with glowing dark green eyes and scales ranging from dark green to obsidian black in various patterns. There was also a black mist emanating from the scales but would vanish whenever the mist reached half a foot from the body.
“Wow [VASILIOS], you’ve really had an upgrade.”
“It hass been a pleassure to sserve your family” the basilisk said while bowing his head in a manner that the bunny would consider formal.
“That’s awesome!” was the much less formal response “If my family come by, then let them know that we will be having some friends join us soon. Get them to stay in the burrow for now. We need to have a family meeting.”
The snake just bowed his head in that professional way of his “It will be done.”
The sovereign thanked the butler before racing off to find his family. Travelling through the dungeon was so much easier this time around. His levels were higher and the increase in stats from his vampiric nature definitely helped him out.
Before long, the horned rabbit found all of his family and followed them back to the burrow. Most of them had been on the sixth floor. Despite this, he was still surprised at all of their levels. The non-rabbit monsters he had taken under his wing were certainly doing well.
Monster – [SOVEREIGN’S AQUA KELPIE STEWARD] – [LEVEL 48]
Monster – [ESOTERIC KURO YOKAI KITSUNE] – [LEVEL 48]
Monster – [SAGE KURO YOKAI KITSUNE] – [LEVEL 48]
Monster – [ESOTERIC SAGE SHIRO YOKAI KITSUNE VIZIER] – [LEVEL 49]
And his brothers from the previous litter, along with Mother, had really levelled up too.
Monster – [ELECTRIC DUAL HORNED RABBIT] – [LEVEL 47]
Monster – [PHASE WALDRASSLINGE] – [LEVEL 47]
Monster – [KōGō VOID DUAL HORNED RABBIT] – [LEVEL 48]
The real surprise though, had been viewing his sibling’s levels one by one. They had really improved.

Finally having gathered everyone, they all sat in a circle as the storm rabbit explained the situation. Both [ULA] and [VASILIOS] were positioned behind him as he spoke. There was some nodding and excited chatter amongst his siblings. “Will they be joining the nest then?” asked Mother in a serious tone.
He thought it over for a moment, “Pretty much. I guess I’m kind of a leader for them now so we’ll all be looking after one another.”
“Good enough” she approved with a stiff nod after a few moments of thought.
Then the inquisition truly began.
“Aren’t humanoids like elves scary?” [THUMPER] questioned.
“Are they really strong? How strong?!” [PETER] chimed in excitedly.
“So long as they guard the nest, we will get along fine” [BENJIMEN] stated seriously.
“Big brother has helped out others and even offered to let them join the nest. That’s amazing!” [SNOWBALL] said with stars in his eyes.
“I wish I could have travelled with big brother, seeing everything outside must have been quite the experience” came the slightly off topic comment from [BUGS].
“If they’re anything like the elves, then our burrow probably won’t accommodate them. We’ll need to figure out proper shelter for them as soon as possible” [FLOPSY] interjected.
“I want to meet them already! Any friend of my brother is my friend too! We can all do this together!” came the enthusiastic shout over the chatter from [MOPSY].
[MIFFY] just sat next to [COTTONTAIL] quietly. While [COTTONTAIL] also stayed out of the conversation, that was mainly because she was muttering to herself in the background.
“This is good. More family to protect the nest.”
“Are they truly family though? Can we trust them?”
“Of course we can, brother trusts them, so we can too.”
“What if brother is wrong in his trust though?”
“He’s not. Brother has never steered us wrong before.”
[MIFFY] continued to listen to several versions of this repeating conversation that her older sister was having with herself.
[REYNARD] also mostly listened in silence, only commenting briefly when the rabbits sought his opinion. Though his gaze showed utter devotion every time he met the storm rabbit’s eyes, that gaze narrowed into suspicion towards the entrance whenever the sovereign looked away. He would make sure there was no betrayal or trickery left undiscovered. The fox would find and eliminate any resentment towards his beloved family.
The conversation continued in this way for quite a while as the sovereign tried to answer all questions and concerns to the best of his ability. Finally he suggested that they should all go meet the new members of their group. His butler and steward as well as the kuro kitsunes stayed behind to guard the burrow, while the rest followed him out.
“Let’s race!” [PETER] suggested as if it had already been decided.
Immediately, thirteen monsters darted as fast as they could towards the entrance. Even Mother had joined the game. The storm rabbit stopped in surprise before grinning his bunny grin and then easily surpassing his entirely family. He sat smugly by the dungeon opening while waiting for his family to catch up. Peter reached him first with a sour expression. Apparently, he was used to getting first place. The aura of smugness from the actual first place holder increased exponentially at each new annoyed face. The only exceptions were [SNOWBALL] and [REYNARD], instead of annoyance, awe was in their expressions. Of course, the smugness vanished as soon as the last place holder arrived, Mother. One look from her was enough to snap him out of it.
Taking on a serious expression he gave some final reminders. “Remember, leaving the dungeon will release you of the bindings urging you deeper, but this is only temporary. When meeting them, just follow my lead. You won’t be able to understand them, but I’ll translate anything that needs to be said.”
“Won’t my [WHISPERER] skill help?” [REYNARD] interrupted, “I got it a while back and was part of the reason I named [VASILIOS].”
The bunny mentally smacked his own forehead. He’d been so preoccupied handling everything that he hadn’t even noticed [REYNARD] intermittently having discussions amongst his siblings. It was a very smart move on the kitsune’s part, but…
“I’ve looked over the description for that skill before. It was a good decision to grab it, but it won’t help in communication with humanoids. You’d need the [BABEL] skill for that.”
The fox perked up after being told about the good decision, but his ears drooped at the end of the sentence.
“Alrighty then. Let’s meet and greet, then we’ll figure out where the newest members of our… tribe, will be living.”
