This chick was very chatty. As she flayed him open, her favourite topic during the first half hour was about the skill [PAIN RESISTANCE]. Apparently, this skill could level pretty fast with any kind of pain. The only exception was the first level. In order to gain the skill you had to continuously cause yourself pain. Not stub your toe three or four times kind of pain. It had to be a kind of brutal pain that would last continuously for at least ten minutes. An example might be eating poisonous vines that would leave you rolling on the ground in agony for an hour. The rabbit monster didn’t mention this analogy to his torturer as she made him scream. He also didn’t mention it over an hour later when he began to fake scream, he’d done it enough times during his time with her that he’d gotten plenty of practice. He could still feel the metal knives, loops and other implements digging and slicing into his body, but he was now numb to most of the pain. There was now only a slight, brief pain similar to how a paper cut felt. It lingered like a paper cut too, but the experience was nowhere near as bad as when their session together had started.
Finally, three hours after they started, the bitch decided both of them needed a break. She dragged in the better looking than expected, unwilling blood donor. The bitch and the donor were both surprised when said donor survived the second feeding. Her eyes glittered with fervour as she was clearly thinking about her new area of study. He seemed to be quite the fascination for her. The bunny heard more dragging, a cell door was relocked, then the mad vampire skipped up the stairs in delight.
[ROGER] let out a slow breath. This had all been a lot to take in. With some time to himself, he eventually noticed the blinking green in the corner of his vision.

Oh look, his [SURVIVE] skill had finally unlocked and levelled. All it took was nearly dying several times. He was very done with this place. He really needed to get out of here. But his body felt like lead. Despite the situation, he also felt very drowsy. Random thoughts floated through his mind, one of them being “nap time is important, if I just let go I can figure all this out when I wake up.”

The more rational part of his brain knew he wouldn’t get the chance as he would likely be woken up with the next round of pain. Lost in his thoughts, the newly turned vampire gave the background noise of skittering and squeaking no mind. Until he did.
What was that smell? It was sooo good. Like one of the roast meals his Father would cook every few months. The succulent scent made his mouth water. Was the bitch cooking? Where? Kitchens weren’t generally built in underground prisons as far as he knew. The smell was all-consuming, surpassing the shitty other scents around him and in the nearby cells. It was all his mind could focus on. He neeeded that food. Now. He was starving for it. His thoughts scattered as roars came from the unsatisfied stomach. Now. Now. Now. Need. Need. Need. Come here. Please. Please. Please.
There was nothing else. Only that scent. Only that delicious smell. He felt like he was burning up with a fever. Surely, death would come unless he could just get a taste. Just one bite. Unbeknownst to the bunny, his fangs were ripping apart his lips, bloodshot eyes darted around unfocused and frenzied. His newly grown claws ripped into the slab beneath him causing even more damage to it than when he had been used for ‘research’. Then, the source of the smell came forward. Small beady eyes stared back at glowing red ones, insane with hunger.
[ROGER] lunged with all his might. The chains screeched with the strain, the one holding his right hand breaking entirely. Then came a timid squeak. “Master? Me come. Me here.”
After a moment three more rats emerged, then two mice, a few more of both, then a mole and what might be identified as a gerbil. A few more moments and there were nearly a hundred rats and mice in the room. Hungry. He was so hungry. And they all smelled so good. “What does Master wish?” the first rat who also happened to be the largest asked.
The guests to his prison waited patiently as the ‘Master’ inhaled and exhaled very loudly for a few minutes. Finally, he gritted his teeth, sinking his fangs even further into his lips to ground himself. He needed even the slight pain right now to take his mind off what he really wanted. After some control was gained he reached out and asked for approval, which was immediately granted by all present. He cast all of their spare points into [INTELLIGENCE], then confirmed. “Keys!” he ground out harshly while holding up his cuffs “Find the keys for these.”
They all bowed as best they could, then quickly dispersed. Less than ten minutes later the bunny was unlocking his bindings. [ROGER] didn’t even notice his new grace and speed as he leapt off the slab, exited the room and kicked in the door of the neighbouring cell. “Wha...” the young man got out before the rabbit pulled his head to the side and bit down drinking in blood he would now compare to sludge after getting the scent of what he really craved. After choking down as much as he could manage, he turned to the entourage waiting in the doorway. Staring at the largest and highest levelled rat that had also brought him the key, he said “I name you [TEMPLETON]. Now come here.”
Stats were lost and gained in the exchange. A pale green glow lit up the cell, then the rat obeyed. [ROGER] lifted the cat sized rat in his arms and bit down again, hoping that he wasn’t about to kill his new subordinate. ‘Just a few swallows’ is what he told himself. Then pure ambrosia ran down his throat. One, two. He needed to stop. Three, four. Enough was enough. Five. He’d just needed that one last taste to tide him over. He slowly licked the puncture marks, savouring every last drop. Then the wounds closed. His instinctive knowledge of his vampiric abilities let him know that his saliva could now heal wounds. Interesting. Licking his lips in pleasure while turning the thoughts over in his mind, the bunny finally noticed the disgusted look of the young man beside him.
“Usually when you’re trying not to kill people, you do that the other way around” he said in a deadpan tone.
“Like I said, you’re not to my taste. Now,” breaking the man’s cuffs with ease he continued “let’s get out of here.”
There were no protests forthcoming, only a willingness to let [ROGER] lead the way. How kind of him.
“My name’s Chester. And you are?” Chester asked as they travelled.
“Ro... Roe" came the stilted reply.
His [PATRON] had told him, and he had felt it. Like a collar wrapped around his soul, he would be handing the leash to whoever he gave his [TRUE NAME] to. The rules mustn’t apply when its another [MONSTER] or he would have felt it earlier.
“Nice to meet you, Roe. I’m glad I was fed to one of the mythical few who can actually resist the thirst. Sure has made it a rough day for me though. Hey, new friend, what’s with all the rodents following us, you some kind of whisperer? Those types are rare. How do you even get that kind of class anyway?”
The bunny turned around and squeaked out a message to the rodents, telling them to keep an eye out in the city. His followers scattered, following his orders immediately. “You really are a whisperer type, aren’t you! That’s so cool! I’m nineteen years old, but I’m only [LEVEL 15] and haven’t picked my class yet. If I want to be a whisperer too, should I start with the basic tamer class?”
Chester continued to chatter on while getting unsure nods and shakes of his head from “Roe". As they continued to climb the stairs, the bunny realised he had allied himself with another chatterbox. Just great.
