After another heartbreaking 70 points, he deduced the [Sǐshēng Slave Scripture] into something that he felt better about putting in the archive.
[Divine Undead Establishment]
N/A
Low-Quality Divine Tier
One of the Genesis Paths to Cultivation, this technique was created by an ancient cultivator obsessed with death and revival. He spent one lifetime discovering the path and another finding a way to use the technique despite his high cultivation. When he succeeded, he was able to destroy the dantian and create it anew as an undead one, beginning the path to death cultivation for anyone willing.
Destroy the dantian and revive it as an undead dantian that is capable of most death cultivation and techniques with improved ability.
Can be learned.
Yù Quán was first drawn to the fact that it was a divine-tier technique and the “Genesis Paths to Cultivation” part, but upon reading further, he found that it wasn’t something he wanted to use himself. The technique did exactly as it said: it crippled you, then restarted your cultivation with an undead dantian. While it did make you a powerful death cultivator, it made it so the only types of cultivation and techniques you could use were ones of death, save for a few universal techniques and methods. Yù Quán wasn’t that far in cultivation but didn’t want to restart. Especially when the technique wouldn’t give him a new cultivation art, it would just start the process. Yù Quán thought it might be good for people who were crippled and wanted to cultivate again or people interested in death cultivation, but he wasn’t so sure yet. So, he thought he would see what Su Chunhua thought before making it available to all disciples.
…
“A what?!”
“SSHHhhh!”
Su Chunhua jumped, covering her mouth, and looked towards the disciples standing where she stood moments ago. Yù Quán came over and pulled her aside to discuss potential cultivation art. She was confused about why she would come to her since she knew nothing of cultivation, but then she heard that it was an art that turned people into death cultivators. She knew enough to understand what that meant.
“Where did you even find such a thing?” she asked, still feeling shocked.
Yù Quán shrugged, not wanting to reveal his system to anybody, not even Su Chunhua, who seemed to want to press him for answers but decided to leave it be.
“I mean, it sounds good in certain cases. Do you want to offer it to the disciples? We could probably build a force of cultivators really quickly.”
Yù Quán thought for a moment before shaking his head. “We don’t have any death cultivation arts or techniques, which would give us more to do. Plus, it seems too powerful to just give out. I think I would rather save it to give to specific people. Maybe a team of death cultivators or something in the future.”
Su Chunhua nodded. “I don’t know about such things, so I’ll follow your lead. Since you’ve figured that out, what do you plan on doing?”
“I don’t really have anything planned, but…” Yù Quán started before being interrupted.
“Great! We need someone to take charge of the businesses.”
Yù Quán looked confused, wasn’t Su Chunhua handling it?
Seeing his confusion, Su Chunhua sighed, “I can’t handle both anymore. I’m not even knowledgeable on such things.”
Yù Quán understood. Su Chunhua took up the task, but it was only temporary. Now that things were starting to move faster, she couldn’t keep up. He knew this day would come if he didn’t find someone, but he didn’t think it would come so soon.
“Is there any intel on a capable person in the mind palace?” he asked.
Su Chunhua diverted her gaze and bit her lips. “There is, but, you’re not going to like it.”
“Huh?”
…
Dong Xiaoli was walking with a team of inner disciples. They had just finished going to all remaining Supreme Wolf Sect businesses and “clients” to collect and give orders. Dong Xiaoli was looking at a scroll while walking. Usually, he would be in front of the group, but ever since he was crippled, he was outcasted by the disciples. They wouldn’t dare bully him directly, but they pay him barely any mind compared to when they would follow his every word. Although the spoiled brat of an heir would usually feel some type of way, he didn’t care much. He never liked the disciples of the Supreme Wolf Sect and felt that any interaction with them was pestering.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Since being crippled, Dong Xiaoli lost everything his father wanted for him. His status, his authority, his potential, all of it was gone. But, the only thing he agreed was a loss was his power. He quite enjoyed fighting. But not enough to depress him. He was lucky he got away with being crippled. If Yù Quán had the power to cripple someone while he was in the Body Tempering realm, he could have really killed him. Plus, it came with the added benefit of fulfilling his oath to the heavens. He didn’t kill the disciples of the Yellow Qilin Academy, so he was crippled. The heavens didn’t care how it was carried out as long as it was. Usually, an oath like that would follow him for the rest of his life, but Yù Quán actually helped him by ending it early. The loss of his cultivation was the only way, and he accepted that.
Now, Dong Xiaoli’s father found a place for him in the sect dealing with what he was always good with: money. Although he didn’t really enjoy it, he was pretty good with numbers and making money, too. Dong Xiaoli had always been the smart one out of a sect of oafs.
The Supreme Wolf disciples were walking ahead of him, giving him little attention, so he rolled up the scroll and enjoyed his lonely walk back to the sect. At least, that was until he was pushed into an alley. Dong Xiaoli reacted fast, rolling backward and launching himself back onto his feet. He readied his stance. Even without cultivation or strength, he still had the strength of his body, and even if he didn’t, he wouldn’t go down without a fight. When he finally met eyes with the person who had pushed him, he saw a familiar face that had been burned into his memory.
“Yu…Quan?”
Yù Quán smiled. “Seems you still remember your grandfather.”
Dong Xiaoli scoffed. “What is it you want? Come to finish the job?”
Yù Quán shook his head. “If I wanted you dead you would be. Instead, I have a proposition for you.”
Dong Xiaoli didn’t move an inch. He wouldn’t relax just from a few words. He may not have power, but he still had the lessons he learned. Seeing Dong Xiaoli didn’t intend to respond, Yù Quán leaned on the wall.
“Everything I’m going to tell you now stays a secret, or I’ll silence you for good. And don’t take that lightly, I really do have eyes and ears all over town…”
Yù Quán explained the cult and the idea behind it, unworried about whether or not Dong Xiaoli would try to do something with that information. It’s not like anyone would believe him after everything that happened. Nor will anyone in the cult believe what he had to say either, they believed in Yù Quán too much. Dong Xiaoli’s expression remained unchanged throughout the entire explanation. Yù Quán would’ve been shocked, but he didn’t know if he was stoic or because he was still prepared for a fight. Instead, he noticed it and continued with his explanation.
After Yù Quán was done, Dong Xiaoli finally answered, "So?”
“So, I heard you are pretty decent with money, and it just so happens that’s what I need.”
“Stop right there,” Dong Xiaoli cut in. “I won’t be helping you. Sorry to waste your time.”
Yù Quán wasn’t surprised by this and just smiled before getting off of the wall and standing straight.
“Even if I could make it so you could cultivate again?”
Dong Xiaoli had remained expressionless this entire time until that moment, when he let out a loud scoff.
“You’ve come here to tease.”
Dong Xiaoli was about to turn around and look for another exit out the alleyway.
“I swear to the Heavens…”
Dong Xiaoli stopped in his tracks, his face shooting back to look at Yù Quán, who now had his hand over his heart and two fingers pointed into the sky.
“…if I cannot hold up my end of the deal, let my cultivation be stunted and my heart infected with demons.”
Dong Xiaoli’s eyes narrowed. He didn’t really have any qualms with Yù Quán. In fact, he would’ve done the same if he were in his situation and were capable. He didn’t even really want to harm Yù Quán or his fellow disciples; he just wanted to win and used a secret method that drove him crazy in order to do so. All he cared for was fighting. If he could get that back just by working for Yù Quán, it was a good deal. The only thing he was worried about was trusting Yù Quán, which was solved by the oath to the heavens.
“…Why are you doing this?” he asked Yù Quán.
Yù Quán shrugged. “It’s not like it was my first choice; I haven’t forgiven you for what happened at the tournament. But someone who works with me really suggested it, so think of it as righting your wrongs.”
Dong Xiaoli couldn’t help but laugh. He had steeled himself to not seem weak to those around him, but he really missed combat. He had accepted that he might never be able to fight on that level again.
“I can handle business affairs, but it isn’t my passion. I hope there will be a chance to take up a more favorable position when you find someone who is better with this kind of thing than me.”
Yù Quán smiled and took out a jade tablet from which he recorded the [Divine Undead Establishment]. “Looking at how you’ll be cultivating, I don’t think that will be a problem in the future.”
