“Junior Brother, how many are usually in a pack!?”
Yù Quán and Rèn Chāngmíng hid as best as possible, with their backs against the walls next to the entrance. They couldn’t escape because there were still too many Dead Dantian Pills and refined cores. It would be a major loss to leave them.
Rèn Chāngmíng frowned. “Usually six, including the Five-Finned Boar and excluding children.”
“How many can you take on?”
Rèn Chāngmíng thought for a bit. “Well, a difference of a stage or two isn’t that much when it comes to combat. But, the strength of monster beasts is decided innately, and they don’t start getting stronger until their beast cores grow in size.”
“Beast core?” Yù Quán interrupted.
“The monster beast is equivalent to our base cores. One of the benefits of being a monster beast is that all cultivation happens naturally.”
Yù Quán nodded. “Okay, so what does that mean?”
“Since I have tempered my body some, and they haven’t grown much stronger due to being stuck as low-rank beasts, I should be able to handle all of them. There is a problem, though.”
“And that is?”
Rèn Chāngmíng glanced towards the entrance, where roaring could still be heard. “Three-Finned Boar don’t roar.”
Yù Quán’s eyes widened as he understood what Rèn Chāngmíng meant. The Five-Finned Boar didn’t just send the pack after him; it came in person.
“What’s its strength?”
Rèn Chāngmíng looked solemn. “Five-Finned Boar aren’t limited in strength, most likely due to an ancient lineage. But, if he was a high-rank beast, they should all have evolved to Four-Finned Boar. That means he can only be a peak mid-rank at most. Mid-rank is similar to our Body Tempering realm. I can likely fight it one-on-one, but I can’t resist him and the others.”
“I’m only in the 2nd Stage Qi Focusing Realm. The weakest adult would be a problem for me…”
Yù Quán thought briefly, then remembered all the eyes he had grafted onto his body. He thought they should at least help his combat power.
“Go and meet the Five-Finned Boar; I have some arrangements for the others. And if we can’t win, we’ll have to retreat and figure something else out.”
“Mm!” Rèn Chāngmíng grunted in agreement.

The boars were outside the cave entrance. The Five-Finned Boar was in the front, roaring at the entrance wildly. Suddenly, something comes flying out of the cave, hitting the Five-Finned Boar. It didn’t do much damage, but it caught him off guard and knocked him far enough back to create some space between it and the rest of the boars. The other boars turned and squealed, ready to help their leader fight. But before they could take any action, another thing flew out of the cave entrance and landed right in front of the boars. When the dust cleared, the boars saw a man facing them. He had long black hair in a ponytail and was slightly crouched, his hands hanging down and twisted inwards.
Yù Quán didn’t have time for any quips; he had already taken his shirt off before leaving. He got into position to hit all the boar with the pressure and immediately opened the boar eyes on his shoulders.
Vwoom~
Yù Quán watched as all the boar took a step back, a few even taking two or three. This told Yù Quán their basic strengths. The eyes of the Three-Finned Boars emitted aggression. Yù Quán knew that even if used against aggressive creatures, as long as his aggression was stronger, they would falter. Luckily enough, the level 4 boar eyes were enough for at least some effect. Yù Quán knew they definitely wouldn’t have had such a desirable outcome if he was facing the Five-Finned Boar.
Yù Quán was quick; even if he couldn’t defeat them, he had to do some damage. Yù Quán dashed in and jumped over the first row of boars before him. The steps that the boars took created slight spacing between them, enough for him to take advantage of. He landed in front of the second row. Now, in front of him were two boars that should be the weaker of the adults. Despite being the weaker ones, they were still a whole stage above Yù Quán. Yù Quán circulated heavenly energy through his newly opened meridians and threw a punch. It landed square on the forehead of one of the boars.
Bang!
The boar was sent back a few meters and seemed to be a bit shocked. After regaining its ground, it shook its head and looked ready to fight again. Yù Quán looked solemn. This was the limit of what he could do with strength alone. He couldn’t continue to be this weak on his journey; he had to get stronger. In the following moments, the second of the two boars and two from behind charged at him simultaneously. Yù Quán released another wave of ferocity, which seemed to hold them back from their charge.
Yu Quan thought that if he had enough heavenly energy to use the pressure and empower his attacks simultaneously, he might be able to handle this. Yù Quán ran through the list of his abilities. Then he remembered he also had the [Star Gazing Eyes] and the bandit eyes. If he could think of some sort of strategy, he might be able to hold on for a while. Yù Quán first studied the boar around him. It seemed his eyes weren’t good enough to see any weaknesses easily. He decided he would have to focus on the growth of his [Star Gazing Eyes] from this point on.
He didn’t have time to think of that at this point. He could hold back most of the boars with the aggression emitted from his boar eyes. But the strongest of the boars probably wouldn’t be held back for long. As if to confirm his thinking, one of the boar, who hadn’t taken action yet, stomped his feet and charged.
