Right after Yù Quán had left. Yin Mengxia was called out to fight against Yin Qiuyue. The fight was proving to be an interesting one. Since they had begun, Yin Qiuyue had burst out, but Yin Mengxia stood still. Yin Qiuyue wouldn’t make the mistake of others; she immediately drew her sword and started using the South Wind Sword Technique. Yin Qiuyue’s sword was a basic cultivator’s sword, except for a small medal on the pommel. Yin Mengxia assumed this was a sword meant for highly appreciated disciples of their branch of the family.
Yin Qiuyue’s South Wind Sword was hurling slashes made of gusts of freezing wind the size of people, which brings us to right this second, where two gusts were flying towards Yin Mengxia. She skillfully dodged, only for her to look up and find another two almost right before her.
Fwoosh
Yin Mengxia dodged those as well. Many were surprised, as this was Yin Qiuyue’s specialty. She would throw slashes to throw you off then predict where you would land and have some waiting for you when you get there. She had done it in her earlier match and was now trying to do it again to Y9in Mengxia. But Yin Mengxia had dodged each blow without even being grazed. Yin Qiuyue is slightly surprised but doesn’t think much of it. This was Yin Mengxia, after all. How could the young daughter of a backwater branch even begin to match her in strength and potential?
Ren Changming is sitting in the stands and is much more surprised than Yin Qiuyue is. “What agility?!”
Liàng Píng, being Liàng Píng, didn’t even turn to face him. Only crossing his arms and scoffing. “Don’t underestimate her. She isn’t the strongest of the Yellow Qilin Academy and probably will never be with talents such as you and Yù Quán coming along. But one thing that will never change is that she has been and always will be the most reliable,” he said, sounding very pleased, like the proud husband he wished he was.
Ren Changming makes sure to take note of this. Things like this were important when push came to shove, and he wanted to be well prepared. Yù Quán gave him a new lease on life, and he would be sure not to waste it. Despite all this, it didn’t stop him from rolling his eyes at Liàng Píng’s attitude. “She’s not even here. There’s no need to be glib-tongued.” Liàng Píng’s face turned red as he turned to Ren Changming and began cursing, causing both Ren Changming and Yàn Lìqín, who was eavesdropping, to start laughing.
Back on the battlefield, Yin Mengxia is still evading, except making sure not to move back, allowing Yin Qiuyue to get closer. All Yin Qiuyue noticed was her only evading and thought it was because she didn’t know what to do.

Yin Qiuyue smiled and yelled out, “Worthless!” before jumping into the air, taking her sword, and stabbing it into the ground with two hands. As the sword hits the ground, a large circular gust that moves like a shockwave is emitted from the sword. Yin Mengxia jumps over the gust and activates her moon technique. She then drops the moon, which becomes slightly bigger, about half a meter in diameter. By the time she begins to fall, the moon comes right under your feet so that she can stand on it.
She starts using her feet, legs, and center of balance to control the moon moving around like she is on a futuristic hoverboard. She flies high above Yin Qiuyue and makes a hand sign, putting her pointer and middle fingers together, pointing them up, and holding the sign right in front of her face.
“...Moonset,” she said calmly. As soon as she said so, the moon stopped moving and hung in the air, rapidly growing in size. After growing at least four times larger, it began to plummet downwards towards Yin Qiuyue below. It gained so much speed that Yin Qiuyue was barely able to jump out of the way.
Boom!
Yin Qiuyue rolled until she could recover. When she went to move, she felt a sharp pain on her side. Checking it out showed a wound, neither severe nor unsevere. Although she had dodged, the moon had still grazed her as she flew through the air. Yin Mengxia had no reaction, as if she wasn’t even affected by the force of the moon hitting the ground. She just continued standing on the moon with her arms crossed.
Yin Qiuyue felt danger. Whatever this odd technique was, it was much stronger than what any of the people who liked to tease Yin Mengxia and her branch had ever said. Only now did she realize that few of those were truthful. Before she could react, Yin Mengxia jumped up from the moon and performed a barrel roll in the air in the direction of her opponent. As she was in the air, the moon flew up and rapidly shrunk, twirling around Yin Mengxia as she spun. When she landed, the moon had returned to its original hand size and was floating in Yin Mengxia’s palm. Yin Mengxia flew towards Yin Qiuyue with her palm outstretched, her moon floating right in front of it.
Thud
Yin Qiuyue was hit square in the stomach by the moon, which was practically a lying projectile with the force of an entire human behind. While she fell to the ground, clutching her stomach and unconscious, Yin Mengxia landed gracefully with the moon circling around her body. There was a moment of silence before the crow roared. Their fight wasn’t the largest showing of strength, but it showed great technique and skill, especially from Yin Mengxia. Many were praising her consistency, others were praising the beauty of her fighting style, and some were just praising her beauty.
Yàn Lìqín took his fan out and covered his face while waving it, and Liàng Píng simply smiled and nodded. The only one to have a real reaction was Ren Changming, who stood up and clapped for his senior sister. Yin Mengxia looked up to the Yellow Qilin Academy and couldn’t help but smile. How great it was to have the people she cared about rely on her.
