Chapter 153: Conspiracy of the Quidditch World Cup

Chapter 153: Conspiracy of the Quidditch World Cup

"Lin Yue has already set up the tent with Mr. Weasley and the others," Harry said, wiping the sweat from his forehead and glancing at the others who had started to walk into the tent.

Hermione also turned to take a look, then turned back and nodded, "Yes, so we need to hurry up."

The two exchanged a glance and quickened their movements. They had just successfully assembled one of the tent frames, and now assembling the others felt a bit easier.

Stepping inside the tent, it was indeed as Lin Yue had judged; a limited version of the Extension Charm had been cast, and all kinds of furniture and living supplies were available here. The space was more than enough to accommodate the Weasley family along with Lin Yue and Hermione.

After touring the inside of the tent, everyone rushed back outside. They still needed to fetch water and also get the fire going.

"Lin Yue, Hermione, Harry, Ron, you go get water. We'll start the fire here," Mrs. Weasley instructed, also asking the twins to bring back more firewood from the designated area.

"Okay, Mrs. Weasley."

"Okay, Mom."

The six children split into two groups and headed in different directions.

On the way to the water-fetching point, Lin Yue's gaze was constantly scanning the crowd, quickly analyzing every person and their micro-expressions in her mind.

Most people appeared happy, excited, and thrilled, but there were also some elegantly dressed individuals whose emotions were not solely excitement and thrill. A deeply hidden tension and unease floated in their eyes. Lin Yue blinked mechanically, making possible speculations in her mind.

Perhaps they were anxious about which team would win the Quidditch World Cup match next. After all, judging by their attire, they were likely pure-blood families from the British wizarding world.

Although their business dealings had been cut off by Lin Yue, they still had some spare money at home, and it was quite normal for them to place bets on which team would win. So the tension that flickered in their eyes seemed understandable.

Retracting her gaze, Lin Yue took her bucket and joined the line for water. Right next to them, a Ministry of Magic employee was pleading with an elderly wizard to change his skirt into pants, but it was clear that the elderly wizard had no intention of changing.

"Why should I change?!"

"I just like to let the healthy breeze blow on my backside!"

"Pfft..."

His words made Hermione stifle a laugh. Out of politeness, she stepped forward and buried her face in Lin Yue's embrace to laugh.

Lin Yue's body paused for a moment, then she raised her hand and gently hugged Hermione, just like many times before when Hermione hugged her. Harry and Ron struggled to suppress their amused expressions at the old wizard's antics, turning their heads away to avoid looking at Lin Yue and Hermione.

After a few minutes, when it was their turn to fetch water, Lin Yue reached out and gently tapped Hermione's shoulder. "Hermione, it's our turn to get water."

"Ah..." Hermione let out a sigh, lifting her face from Lin Yue's embrace. Her face was flushed from laughing just moments ago. Lin Yue pressed her lips together, lightly rubbed her fingers a couple of times, then turned back with a blank expression to start filling the iron bucket with water.

After Lin Yue filled Hermione's bucket, Hermione filled Harry's and Ron's, and once all four buckets were full, they carried them back to the campsite.

"Good morning, everyone!" As soon as they returned to the campsite, seniors Cho Chang, Marietta, and Penelope waved at the four of them in unison.

"Good morning, Senior Cho Chang, Senior Marietta, Senior Penelope." Lin Yue politely nodded in response while handing the water bucket to Sirius, who was there to take it.

"With water and fire, I can start preparing lunch now." Mrs. Weasley rubbed her hands together, pouring one of the buckets of water into a pot and placing it over the fire. Just a moment ago, with the help of Cho Chang, she and Mr. Weasley had successfully lit the fire using matches.

"How was your holiday?"

Marietta shifted to the side to make room for the two younger girls to sit down.

"That's great."

Lin Yue and Hermione responded with smiles as they settled into the space Marietta had created.

"That's good to hear." Marietta nodded with satisfaction.

The five girls sat together, and Harry and Ron, being extremely "considerate," moved to another area to chat, leaving them some space.

It soon proved that their choice was undoubtedly the right one.

Because not long after they left, the five girls, after discussing Quidditch for a bit, abruptly shifted the topic to homework.

After all, only Cho Chang among them was interested in Quidditch, while studying... well, that was something they all had an interest in.

Even Ginny, who wanted to chat with the older girls, quietly moved away after hearing their discussion topic.

Goodness... the Quidditch World Cup final would be on tonight, and she didn't want to waste her brainpower thinking about schoolwork right now.

After chatting for a while, Lin Yue heard Mr. Weasley occasionally introducing people, clearly introducing his family to his colleagues from the Ministry of Magic.

Before long, Lin Yue's side also became lively, with several Ravenclaw graduates coming over to greet her.

However, unlike Mr. Weasley's side, everyone on Lin Yue's side just nodded at each other, and then the Ravenclaw graduates left.

"Everyone is just curious about what you're really like."

Penelope winked at Lin Yue; currently, the entire British wizarding community's Ravenclaw was led by Lin Yue.

However, not many Ravenclaws had actually met Lin Yue; they were willing to follow her mainly because of the stories they had heard from the current Ravenclaws about her achievements.

But after today, almost everyone would have met Lin Yue, and they would undoubtedly be even more convinced of their choice.

After all, although Lin Yue didn't show much expression on her face, the convincing aura and the impressive strength she exuded naturally radiated from within.

As noon approached, Percy, Charlie, and Bill, who had used Apparition, also arrived.

Not long after Percy arrived, he encountered his boss, Mr. Crouch.

Seeing Percy's attitude towards Mr. Crouch, combined with his almost reclusive work state at the Weasley household, Lin Yue's mind quickly made a judgment.

Percy is too focused on power, and when it comes to the authority of the Ministry of Magic, he is likely to lean more towards that rather than his own family.

“Buzz…”

With a buzzing in her brain, Lin Yue shook her head after realizing what she was thinking. Percy is a member of the Weasley family; what was she thinking?

She scolded herself; she shouldn’t be thinking about other people's family matters, as it is quite impolite.

After dinner, under Mrs. Weasley's invitation, they waited until evening when the Quidditch World Cup final was about to begin, and groups of small vendors began to appear one after another in the camping area.

The Ministry of Magic staff seemed tired and no longer bothered to manage the situation.

Let them use Apparition… there are too many people; how could they possibly manage?

“Panoramic telescope? This telescope seems interesting.”

Marietta picked up one of the telescopes from a vendor's stall, curiously fiddling with it.

“A great helper for watching the match, only four Galleons!”

The vendor enthusiastically said to Cho Chang, but when his gaze inadvertently swept over Lin Yue, who was being held by Hermione, he immediately changed his tune.

“Of course, if you are a friend of Miss Lin Yue, please take the panoramic telescope, no charge.”

“Ah?”

Although she was confused, Lin Yue looked at the vendor with a blank expression.

The vendor cheerfully picked up five panoramic telescopes and handed one to each of the five girls.

“Last match, these were sold for seven Galleons during the match, but this year, thanks to Miss Lin Yue's generosity, we got them at a lower price, so we can sell them cheaper, and maybe we’ll sell even more.”

“We all know that, so you really shouldn’t take our money; otherwise, it would seem like we are ungrateful.”

Faced with the vendor's attitude, Lin Yue and the others had nothing more to say. After politely thanking him, they turned to leave for other stalls.

It turned out that Lin Yue had indeed cast a shadow over the business of the British magical community. Almost every small vendor they visited recognized her and had benefited from her generosity, leading to more income for themselves.

With a pile of gifts that had been thrust upon them, the five girls returned to the Weasley family's campsite together.

“Merlin… those vendors really see Lin Yue as a benefactor.”

Marietta rubbed her arm, looking at the pile of gifts she received thanks to Lin Yue's influence.

"That's how ordinary people are," Hermione said gently, holding Lin Yue's hand and smiling. "They know who treats them well; they are clear about it in their hearts."

"As long as you treat them sincerely, they will lift you up high. Their support is far more powerful and reliable than any pure-blood family."

"Ha, that's quite insightful, Hermione," Penelope chuckled, lightly tapping Hermione on the head. "You really have a politician's mind."

"I've read some books on this topic," Hermione shrugged, speaking honestly.

A distant and deep horn sounded, signaling that the Quidditch World Cup final was about to begin.

The five girls quickly said their goodbyes, with Cho Chang, Marietta, and Penelope each taking their things back to find their families.

Lin Yue and Hermione followed the Weasley family and Sirius toward the stadium, which was shining brilliantly in the distance.

"The top box is just up the stairs all the way to the top," said a Ministry of Magic staff member at the entrance, pointing to the stairs. Lin Yue looked up in the direction of his hand, and at the very top of the stadium, the box was sparkling.

Although the construction of this place involved merchants under her management from start to finish, this was the first time she was seeing it in person.

It was quite spectacular, Lin Yue evaluated without any emotional attachment.

Upon reaching the top box, Lin Yue and Hermione took their seats directly.

The Weasley family, Sirius, and Harry also settled in beside them.

Before long, the Malfoy family, also in the top box, arrived.

Lucius immediately spotted Lin Yue sitting next to Hermione, her expression calm and unruffled. He slightly moved the corner of his mouth and directly pulled Draco and Narcissa to sit in a nearby seat. After having suffered a loss last time, he had no intention of confronting Lin Yue head-on this time.

She was someone who disregarded everything and showed no hesitation in taking ruthless actions. Even in the face of the entire British magical community, she completely ignored the rules that everyone accepted and directly challenged the pure-blood families, forcing them into a corner.

He slightly closed his eyes, and thinking about the actions planned for tonight, his heart calmed down a bit, but a different kind of tension and unease surged within him. What if they were discovered or stopped... No, that won't happen; those guys from the Ministry of Magic don't have the capability for that.

As for Lin Yue... with so many of them, whether she could keep herself safe was still up for debate. Gripping the snake-headed cane tightly, a glint of calculating malice flashed in Lucius's eyes.

"Ah, Lucius, you all arrived early!" A warm voice came from the entrance as Fudge walked in with the Minister of Magic from Bulgaria. "Minister."

Lucius stood up and smiled as he greeted Fudge, who responded with a cheerful smile.

"Good evening, Minister."

Mr. Weasley also stood up to greet Fudge, and Lin Yue and Hermione, along with others, stood up out of politeness.

"Good evening, Arthur. Oh, there are quite a few people here."

"Lucius is my guest; he just made a large donation to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries."

"That's quite a burden for him; business for pure-blood families has been tough lately."

As Fudge spoke, his gaze shifted towards Lin Yue, clearly indicating that most people in the magical community understood who was orchestrating this "attack" on pure-blood families.

"Is that so?"

Mr. Weasley continued to smile, shifting his position slightly with Sirius to block Lin Yue, determined not to let the child face the other party directly.

Feeling the protection from Mr. Weasley and Sirius, Lin Yue sensed Hermione's hand gently tighten around hers.

A warmth spread in Lin Yue's chest, but at the same time, a sense of impatience and irritation flashed through her mind.

Without the dull pain in her brain to hold back her emotions, Lin Yue's cold voice, carrying a sense of indifference, rang out, "Is that so? If pure-blood families do not change their views and abandon the ideology of blood purity, then perhaps their business will become increasingly difficult."

"Moreover, aside from a very few, pure-blood families might eventually disappear altogether."

As soon as the words left her mouth, an overwhelming and terrifying magical pressure enveloped the entire top-level box.

Mr. Weasley and Sirius instinctively stepped aside, revealing Lin Yue behind them.

A few stray strands of hair fluttered slightly, and Lin Yue appeared almost blinding, like a small sun; the nearly tangible magical power made everyone present, except for Hermione, the Weasley family, Harry, and Sirius, feel nauseous.

The Minister of Magic from Bulgaria looked at her with a pale and terrified expression.

As the magical pressure slowly dissipated, a slight smile curved at the corners of Lin Yue's mouth, "Of course, I believe that pure-blood families should still have some intelligence to know how to choose, right?"
