Sirius Black was proven innocent, and Peter Pettigrew was imprisoned in Azkaban, making the Dementors stationed around Hogwarts unnecessary.
It seemed that overnight, the Ministry of Magic recalled all of them.
"Indeed, a sunny sky is much more uplifting," Hermione said, looking at the clear, cloudless sky, a genuine smile on her face.
Lin Yue, standing next to her, mechanically nodded, "Yeah, I think so too."
Time flew by, and her third year at Hogwarts was nearing its end.
A few days ago, the final Quidditch match at Hogwarts had taken place. Without the interference of Dementors and bad weather, Harry led the Gryffindor Quidditch team to a well-deserved victory.
That day, even Hermione went back to join an all-night celebration that lasted until dawn.
Even Professor McGonagall selectively chose not to intervene with these Gryffindors, allowing them to vent their emotions and energy.
However, as the end-of-term exams approached, whether it was the Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, or the Slytherins and Hufflepuffs, everyone quickly focused and immersed themselves in intense revision.
In the midst of this, Harry's spirits were unusually high.
"Lin Yue! Thank you so much!"
Lin Yue, who was seriously reviewing Transfiguration, looked up, her expression unresponsive as she stared at him.
"Why are you suddenly thanking me?"
She was a bit confused; had she done something recently that warranted Harry's gratitude?
There shouldn't be anything, right? Ever since Sirius was successfully exonerated, she hadn't done anything but study.
Hermione also glanced up at her close friend and made a face to indicate that Madam Pince was already looking over in their direction.
“Harry, this is the library, keep your voice down.”
If Lin Yue hadn’t been sitting there and Madam Pince hadn’t been so fond of her, Madam Pince would have probably reminded them long ago, and if there was another incident, they would have been kicked out of the library.
“Sorry.” Harry quickly covered his mouth as he realized, and his overly excited emotions calmed down a bit.
“Alright, tell me, what is it that has you so happy, and why do you want to thank Lin Yue?”
Hermione sighed, glanced down at the book in front of her, and then looked up at Harry.
“Sirius wrote to me yesterday,” Harry said, his face breaking into an uncontrollable bigger smile, “he was able to leave St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries on his own.”
“Congratulations.” ×2
Lin Yue and Hermione both nodded sincerely to express their happiness, and then Lin Yue honestly tilted her head.
“Then why are you thanking me? I wasn’t involved in his treatment.”
“Because he mentioned in the letter that he is my godfather, my godfather!”
Harry said excitedly in a low voice, repeating it twice, “It was you, Lin Yue, who discovered that something was off with Sirius and helped everyone find out the truth, so you helped me get my godfather back.”
“I’ve found my only family, of course I have to thank you!”
If you were to ask what mattered most to Harry, what he cared about the most, it would naturally be family.
Not the Dursleys, but the family that truly cared for him and looked out for him. Clearly, Sirius was that kind of family.
“I see,” Lin Yue nodded in understanding, her voice carrying a subtle hint of joy for her friend, “Congratulations, Harry, you have a real family now.”
“That’s amazing! Harry!”
Hermione quickly reacted and gently tapped the table, "Does this mean you won't have to go back to the Dursleys' house during the holidays anymore?"
The way that family treated Harry had long made Hermione uncomfortable. If it weren't for the fact that Harry had no other relatives, reporting them could very likely lead to Harry being sent to an orphanage.
Hermione had already contacted a lawyer to take that family to court. The money she had saved over the years, spending it on her friend was something she was more than willing to do.
"Sirius has already asked Professor Dumbledore about this," Harry said, pursing his lips, his expression slightly downcast. "I still have to spend a few days at the Dursleys' every year."
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
"This is the only way to ensure my mother's protection continues. Given our discovery in first year that Voldemort is still alive, this is the most effective means of keeping me safe."
"I see..." Hermione frowned, then quickly came up with a countermeasure. "Then you can definitely have Sirius accompany you to the Dursleys' house. With him there, they wouldn't dare treat you poorly."
"Exactly," Lin Yue nodded in agreement, quickly analyzing the possibilities and various situations in her mind. "To avoid them calling the police, you could also have Sirius transform into his Animagus form and disguise himself as a pet you keep."
"Only reveal his identity in front of the Dursleys, so even if they wanted to report Sirius for illegal entry, they wouldn't be able to. I can help you with the pet-related paperwork."
"Is that really possible?"
Harry hesitated, mainly because he felt that disguising Sirius as his pet would be a bit unfair to him; he might not be willing to do that.
"Just ask him," Hermione shrugged. "Since Professor Dumbledore said so, we can estimate that you'll have to wait until Voldemort is completely defeated before you can truly be free from the Dursleys."
"We don't know how long that will take. If you could have Sirius by your side, wouldn't you have a better situation?"
"I think Sirius would be willing to do this for you."
"Alright, I'll write to him tonight and ask."
"By the way, where's Ron? He didn't come with you."
Hermione looked around, somewhat surprised that Harry and Ron actually had a moment apart.
"Uh," Harry said, feeling a bit awkward, "he got dragged away by Fred and George, and I don't know what they're up to."
"Oh, poor Ron."
Hermione clicked her tongue; being taken away by Fred and George, Ron probably wouldn't encounter anything good.
"There's a ninety percent chance they're using him to test out new pranks," Lin Yue added quietly from the side.
"Then I won't disturb your studying. I'll head back to the common room," Harry said, chuckling a bit as he stood up to leave.
But Hermione grabbed his arm, "Don't be in such a hurry, Harry. Tell me, who ended the fairy disturbance?"
"What? Oh... oh, I think it should be..."
As Harry stammered and tried to buy time, he desperately shot a glance at Lin Yue for help.
Lin Yue accurately received Harry's pleading look and, based on his micro-expressions and the current situation, figured out his intent.
However, "Harry, I'm sorry, but right now it's Hermione asking you a question, I can't help you."
Lin Yue sincerely apologized for not being able to assist Harry, who responded with a face full of despair.
Meanwhile, Hermione had raised her hand high and delivered a light smack on Harry's head.
"I knew it, I knew that without me, you and Ron wouldn't actively study. You even dared to seek help from Lin Yue?"
"Hermione, Hermione, I was wrong, I was wrong," Harry quickly clasped his hands in apology, "Can I start studying tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?" Hermione squinted at Harry and pointed to the chair opposite her with a commanding gesture.
"Sit down, sit properly, and start studying from today. I'll watch you study, and tomorrow I'll bring Ron over to keep you company."
"You two really need me to supervise your studying!"
Harry wanted to cry but had no tears; he knew that Hermione was doing it for his own good, so he obediently sat down to start reviewing.
The next day, as soon as Ron opened his eyes, he saw Lin Yue and Hermione sitting by his bed, each holding a book.
"Merlin's floral curtains!"
He pulled the blanket up to his neck with all his might. "Hermione, Lin Yue, what are you doing here?"
Weren't they supposed to be sleeping in the Ravenclaw tower? How did they end up in the Gryffindor tower, and in the boys' dormitory at that? Nothing unusual had happened in the boys' dormitory.
"Of course we came to find you, Ron," Hermione said, putting down her book and giving a "gentle" smile.
Lin Yue nodded in agreement from the side, pointing to Harry, who was also reading a book, "We're here to help you and Harry review."
"Oh, oh... thank you."
Ron’s expression stiffened for a moment, but he quickly thanked them obediently.
The final exams eventually passed in a tense atmosphere, and without a doubt, Lin Yue took the top spot in the third year at Hogwarts.
As for the second place, that was undoubtedly Hermione's.
Harry and Ron also achieved good results; they seemed lazy, but when Lin Yue and Hermione were there to supervise them, they could still study quite well.
As for the other years, it was also without a doubt that almost all the first places were from Ravenclaw.
Cho Chang and Marietta narrowly became the first and second in the fourth year at Hogwarts.
Penelope achieved exceptionally excellent results in the O.W.L. exams; according to her, the exam questions this year were exactly as Lin Yue had predicted for her in advance.
So, amidst the laughter and joy of the little wizards, this school year at Hogwarts came to a complete end.
As Lin Yue stepped onto the Hogwarts Express and just placed her suitcase, Hermione pulled her into a hug.
She had already gotten used to Hermione's occasional "intimate" gestures; that's how friends are, her brain told her.
And Hermione was a very special friend to her.
Gently rubbing her chin against Lin Yue's fluffy head, Hermione whispered, "Every time a school year ends and I leave Hogwarts, I feel like it's a fantastical dream that has come to an end."
"This isn't a dream; this is real."
Lin Yue calmly denied Hermione's statement, tilting her head in confusion as she looked at her. Everything was clearly real; why did Hermione think it was a dream?
She glanced over Hermione, who didn’t seem to be under any confusion spell or anything like that.
“Pfft,” Hermione chuckled softly, lowering her head to affectionately rub her cheek against Lin Yue 's. “I’m not saying I really think everything around us is a dream, but… everything is just too beautiful, perfectly beautiful without a single flaw.”
“It’s so beautiful that I can’t believe it’s real.”
“Just like what happened this year: Sirius was exonerated, and Pettigrew was thrown into prison. Everything has gone so smoothly, so beautifully, that it makes me feel a bit incredulous that it’s real.”
“It’s as if… everything shouldn’t be this perfect.”
“Everything is this perfect,” Lin Yue said, a smile slowly appearing on her lips, her tone firm and resolute. “Hermione, there’s no need to doubt or disbelieve; this is the truth.”
“Yeah,” Hermione smiled, patting Lin Yue on the back. “Life can be this perfect too.”
“Mm.”
After a short while in the box, Harry, Ron, Cho Chang, Marietta, and Penelope all came in together.
The seven of them split into two groups, sitting on either side of the seats, and Harry spoke first.
“Lin Yue , Hermione, do you have any plans for this summer?”
Hermione paused for a moment, then shook her head. “Not yet.”
Lin Yue shook her head as well; she was going to go back to the Granger family with Hermione, and since Hermione had no plans, that meant she didn’t either.
“Then let’s go watch the Quidditch World Cup final together! Sirius said he wants to invite you both to thank you for helping him clear his name and for sorting out the Muggle world’s paperwork for us.”
“That’s not necessary,” Lin Yue said flatly, “Sirius doesn’t need to spend money on that.”
“No, no, it’s the least he can do. You two shouldn’t refuse.”
Harry looked at the two girls eagerly; he really wanted to thank them.
Lin Yue opened her mouth but ultimately closed it again.
What she wanted to say was… any of them could go to the Quidditch World Cup final without needing to buy a ticket.
The Quidditch World Cup final was being held in the UK, and the construction of the venue, the procurement of flying brooms, and a series of other matters were all under her control.
So, at least ninety-five percent of the revenue from the Quidditch World Cup final would end up in her hands.
Thus, when her friends bought tickets and invited her to watch the Quidditch World Cup final, it was essentially just money moving from her left hand to her right hand.
However, since Harry had already brought it up, it would be impolite for her and Hermione to refuse.
So, both girls smiled and sincerely thanked Harry, accepting Sirius’s kindness.
“Great! Then we can go watch the Quidditch World Cup final together! Dad also said he could get tickets.” Ron excitedly chimed in.
Cho Chang and Marietta nodded in agreement, indicating they would go too.
With her friends going, Lin Yue would go as well, and Penelope didn’t need to hesitate at all, immediately stating that she would go too.
After all, for some reason, the ticket prices for this year’s Quidditch World Cup final had plummeted, so she could afford it.
