Miss Granger Advises Me To Stop Study
Chapter 145: Caught, Traitor Peter.

Chapter 145: Caught, Traitor Peter.

As Professor McGonagall walked out of the boys' dormitory, Lin Yue turned to Hermione and said, "I'm going to help Professor McGonagall catch Peter Pettigrew."

Hermione was momentarily taken aback, but then realized that Peter Pettigrew's Animagus form was a rat, and finding him would indeed be quite difficult. If Lin Yue was there to help analyze the situation, it would certainly make it easier to catch him.

"Go ahead, but be careful," Hermione said with a smile, nodding her head, not forgetting to remind Lin Yue.

"Don't worry," Lin Yue replied calmly, nodding before stepping out of the boys' dormitory.

Professor McGonagall, who was caught up with, looked back in confusion. When she saw Lin Yue, her expression shifted from confusion to surprise.

"Miss Lin Yue? How did you catch up with me?"

Lin Yue looked up, her gaze calm as she spoke politely, "I can help you find Peter Pettigrew's exact hiding place more quickly, Professor McGonagall."

Thinking of Lin Yue's analytical abilities, Professor McGonagall nodded affirmatively. Indeed, Lin Yue's analytical and thinking skills were something that even they, as professors, felt inferior to.

However, there were still things that needed to be said. As Professor McGonagall strode forward, she occasionally glanced at Lin Yue beside her.

"Miss Lin Yue, no matter where we find Peter Pettigrew, you must not act rashly. You must stay behind me. I don't want you to get into any trouble, understand?"

"I understand. Thank you, Professor McGonagall."

Lin Yue spoke in a flat voice and nodded affirmatively. She had definitely heard what the professor said, and once they analyzed Peter Pettigrew's specific hiding place, she would inform Professor McGonagall.

The situation was urgent, and neither Lin Yue nor Professor McGonagall paused for even a moment. In less than ten minutes, they had made their way from the Gryffindor Tower to the door of Hagrid's hut.

"Hagrid, Hagrid, could you please open the door?"

Professor McGonagall gently knocked twice on the door. After a few seconds, with a creak, the door to Hagrid's hut was opened.

"Good evening, Professor McGonagall."

Hagrid rubbed his eyes, clearly just awakened by the sound of the door.

"I'm sorry to wake you, Hagrid," Professor McGonagall said with an apologetic smile, "but we really have an urgent matter and need to come here."

"It's alright, Professor McGonagall," Hagrid said with a hearty smile, then fully opened the door. "Please come in, and welcome you too, Lin Yue."

"Good evening, Professor Hagrid."

Lin Yue greeted politely with a nod and stepped into Hagrid's hut. As soon as she entered, her eyes began to scan for any possible hiding places for rats.

Given that Peter Pettigrew was essentially still a wizard, Lin Yue directly ruled out options like under the bed or under the table. From his betrayal of the Potters, it was clear that Pettigrew had a strong sense of "self-esteem," so he would definitely not hide in those places.

What she was looking for was a place that was relatively nice, had food and drink, and preferably had some private space.

After quickly scanning the entire room, Lin Yue's gaze landed on a milk cabinet hanging on one side of the wall.

"That place is most likely Peter Pettigrew's hiding spot, with an 86% probability."

Upon hearing this, Professor McGonagall immediately raised her wand and pointed it at the milk cabinet, while inwardly marveling at how Lin Yue had surpassed her, with each generation being stronger than the last.

She hadn't even finished looking around since entering. Perhaps she had been too comfortable teaching at Hogwarts for all these years?

Professor McGonagall rarely lost focus, contemplating whether she should take a trip during the upcoming summer vacation.

Maybe she could find someone to duel with, to regain her reflexes and observational skills.

As Professor McGonagall pointed her wand at the milk cabinet, Lin Yue also raised her hand and gently waved it.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

In her rush to the Gryffindor Tower, she hadn't taken her wand, so she could only perform wandless magic now.

"Boom!"

A faint sound of flames erupted, and outside Hagrid's hut, a circle of golden flames shot up into the sky, completely surrounding the hut.

The crackling sound of the air echoed continuously as the golden flames conjured by Lin Yue burned the air around Hagrid's hut.

However, aside from the air, not only was the hut itself unharmed, but even the weeds on the ground remained untouched.

The flame magic that Lin Yue used does not burn any objects around the hut, unless Peter is trying to leave the area at high speed.

Noticing the flames from outside, Professor McGonagall slightly turned her head to look at Lin Yue, who slowly lowered his hand.

"This is to prevent Peter Pettigrew from escaping; I was hiding behind you, Professor McGonagall."

Lin Yue explained seriously, while indicating that he had fulfilled the requirement that Professor McGonagall had just mentioned.

"You really always manage to surprise us."

Professor McGonagall sighed and turned back to wave her wand at the milk cabinet.

The milk cabinet opened in response, and a mouse that had been sleeping inside groggily opened its eyes.

However, this grogginess completely disappeared when it saw Professor McGonagall holding her wand.

Although it didn't know how it had been exposed, it certainly didn't think that Professor McGonagall was holding her wand at a mouse just to catch it.

She must have discovered its identity.

Thinking of this, Peter Pettigrew, transformed into a mouse, immediately sprang into action. He wanted to run out before Professor McGonagall could act, or at least to a place where she couldn't hit him.

As for taking a student next to Professor McGonagall hostage, he had considered that possibility.

In fact, if the student next to Professor McGonagall had been anyone else, Peter Pettigrew would have immediately turned him into his hostage.

But standing next to Professor McGonagall was Lin Yue, who had been with Ron for nearly three years. He had heard rumors about Lin Yue and had seen him in person.

He didn't think he had the ability to outsmart Lin Yue, let alone take him hostage.

So his only choice was to run!

" Petrificus Totalus."

Faster than Peter Pettigrew was Professor McGonagall's spell, which quickly and accurately hit him, causing Peter Pettigrew to freeze in place and fall straight down.

He looked just like a dead mouse, Lin Yue commented in his mind.

"It seems I’m not too old to be of use yet."

Professor McGonagall raised the corners of her lips, and with a light tap of her wand, caused the mouse that Peter Pettigrew had transformed into to float up.

"Professor McGonagall, I'm sorry," Hagrid said, looking confusedly at McGonagall and Lin Yue, "I don't quite understand what you're saying, Peter Pettigrew?"

"Isn't he dead? Killed by Sirius Black."

At this point, Hagrid showed an expression of absolute anger.

"No, quite the opposite, Hagrid. Black is innocent; the one who truly betrayed the Potters is Peter Pettigrew."

"This is a long story, but if all goes well, you'll soon learn the whole truth in the Daily Prophet."

"Alright, Professor McGonagall."

Hagrid nodded and watched as Lin Yue and Professor McGonagall left his hut.

Once outside Hagrid's hut, Lin Yue raised her hand slightly towards the golden flames surrounding the hut, and in the next moment, all the golden flames extinguished into nothingness.

After giving Lin Yue a deep look, Professor McGonagall fully realized just how much she had underestimated her student.

She had thought she was already quite exceptional, but it seemed this child had probably never shown her true abilities.

Returning to the Gryffindor boys' dormitory with Peter Pettigrew, Ron was the first to step forward and take a closer look. Two seconds later, he took a step back, his face pale.

"Merlin's beard... it really is Scabbers..."

He felt like he was about to faint; he had actually shared a bed with a man, a man almost the same age as his father, for nearly three years.

"Ron, are you okay?"

When Harry was feeling complicated emotions, he supported him. On one hand, he knew he should comfort his dear friend. On the other hand... seeing Ron like this, he really wanted to laugh at him a bit.

"Are you sure it's Peter Pettigrew?" Hermione quietly asked Lin Yue, who had just returned.

"Absolutely." Lin Yue nodded with a neutral expression. "He was too panicked when he saw Professor McGonagall with her wand. If it were an ordinary mouse, it wouldn't have reacted that way."

It was actually quite easy to confirm whether this mouse was Peter Pettigrew; all it took was to cast an Animagus reversal spell. And there were three people present who could perform this spell. Two Transfiguration masters, and one was Lin Yue.

Pointing his wand directly at the floating mouse, Professor McGonagall steadily recited the Animagus reversal spell. Immediately, the mouse began to grow larger in front of everyone, its limbs transforming into human limbs, and its head changing into a human head.

In the end, a short man, who even had some mouse-like features, stood in place. Of course, because of Professor McGonagall's petrification spell, he couldn't move a muscle.

"It really is you, Mr. Pettigrew," Professor McGonagall's voice was grim. "You've played us all for fools."

"No, no, no... Professor McGonagall, it's not like that, Headmaster Dumbledore, it's not like that!"

Peter Pettigrew still did not want to give up the struggle at this moment. He tried once again to define Sirius Black as the traitor, the executioner who had harmed the lives of thirteen Muggles.

“It was him, he did all of this, betraying James and Lily, even trying to kill me in the street, which resulted in the deaths of thirteen Muggles!”

“You're talking nonsense!”

Sirius, sitting on Harry's bed, almost shouted in anger, “You were the secret keeper for James and the others. It was you who killed those thirteen Muggles.”

“My biggest mistake in life was trusting you, treating you as a friend!”

“No, no, no…” Hearing Sirius's defense, Peter was completely panicked.

What was happening? Clearly, when the Ministry of Magic interrogated Sirius over a decade ago, he said nothing.

Why was he speaking now? Why was he speaking now! Couldn’t he just keep silent?

“Don’t think about what secrets Black might have, Peter.”

Professor Dumbledore's face remained gentle and kind, but his voice had already taken on a strong chill.

Lin Yue could clearly see the magical elements around Professor Dumbledore becoming increasingly active.

Clearly, his mood was not as stable as his expression suggested.

“He just took a Veritaserum.”

Listening to Professor Dumbledore's words, Peter felt a mix of realization and relief, and a sense of despair enveloped him.

“What can I do!”

“I’m scared!”

Peter cried out in despair, "If I don't agree, he will kill me."

"And he will hurt my mom."

"He's so powerful, what good would it do to go against him?"

It was as if he was trying to justify himself, not knowing how much of his mother's concern was genuine and how much was a plea for sympathy from everyone.

"You have no right to mention your mother, Peter."

"Until her death, she believed that her son was a hero."

Professor McGonagall spoke each word slowly, and the light in Peter's eyes completely extinguished.

However, it didn't take long for him to start a new round of struggle.

He crawled on all fours in front of Ron, trying to reach out and tug at his robe.

"Ron, good boy, my good master, you wouldn't, you wouldn't let me go to Azkaban, would you? I'm your pet, a good pet!"

"Get lost! You make me sick."

Ron shouted at him in anger and quickly moved his robe away.

Seeing that Ron had no intention of helping him, he staggered towards Hermione.

"Good girl, good girl, you're the kindest, you will have compassion for the weak, right?"

"Think about it, think about it, how could I dare to defy the Dark Lord? I would die! Please, save me, I can't go to Azkaban, I can't go..."

Hermione looked at him with disgust, tightening her grip on Lin Yue's hand. "I will help the weak and show compassion to the weak, but I will not understand traitors!"

"So what if the Dark Lord is powerful? Even if he kills me or tortures me with the Cruciatus Curse, he will never get any information about my friends from me!"

"Bang!"

With a dull thud, Peter Pettigrew was sent flying. Lin Yue looked at him with cold eyes, blinking again after just having blinked.

"You do not deserve to seek help from Hermione, you do not deserve to seek help from anyone here. Azkaban is where you belong, Mr. Pettigrew."

Harry took a deep breath, his chest heaving violently. "Peter Pettigrew, you just said there’s no benefit in fighting Voldemort."

He clenched his teeth fiercely, watching as Peter squeezed out a sound from his throat.

"The benefit of fighting him is that it means fewer innocent people die in this world. The benefit of fighting him is that it means more complete families in this world."

"For that, my mom and dad could do it, I could do it, and I believe my friends would be willing to give their lives too!"

"And you, cowardly traitor, what right do you have, what right do you have to plead with us?!"
