"Go take a shower first, relax a bit, and then come back to read."
It wasn't until Lin Yue finished this page that Hermione gently tapped her shoulder.
Having just showered, Hermione's hair was still damp, and she was continuously drying it with a towel. At the same time, a faint, pleasant fragrance was emanating from her body.
It wasn't the scent of shower gel; rather, it seemed that the hot water had brought out Hermione's natural scent.
Lin Yue's nose twitched slightly; for some reason, this scent suddenly tightened her mind, and she felt a sudden warmth in her chest.
Closing the book, Lin Yue nodded, stood up, and said, "Okay, I'll go take a shower first."
After saying that, she picked up her pajamas and bathing supplies and walked into the bathroom.
Hermione watched her walk into the bathroom and smiled with satisfaction. She returned to her bed, thoroughly dried her hair, and then picked up her book on arithmetic divination, focusing intently on it.
Crookshanks walked over to her feet and gently rubbed against her ankle. Hermione smiled and bent down to pet Crookshanks' head, and he lay down on the ground, motionless, no longer bothering Hermione as she read.
After finishing her shower, Lin Yue quickly dried her hair with a towel, completely unconcerned about whether her vigorous rubbing might damage her hair.
Her only goal was to dry her hair in the shortest time possible. She was determined to maximize her time efficiency and create more time for studying, which is something every student must do.
Hermione lifted her head from the book and frowned slightly at the way Lin Yue was drying her hair.
She closed the book, put on her slippers, and walked over.
Suddenly, Hermione snatched the towel away from Lin Yue, who was drying her hair. Lin Yue turned to look at Hermione, who smiled and winked, gently starting to dry Lin Yue's hair.
"You have to be gentle when drying your hair; otherwise, what if you damage it?"
Lin Yue nodded with a neutral expression, "Okay, I’ll remember that. I’ll be gentler next time."
Cho Chang and Marietta, sitting on the bed, exchanged glances and both showed expressions of being sweetly surprised.
Seeing Lin Yue and Hermione so "lovey-dovey" like this, one could only imagine how it would be once they officially became a couple.
Watching the two younger girls almost overlapping in their movements, Cho Chang stroked her chin and looked at Marietta.
She should also make a move soon; she didn't want to turn around and find her silly "best friend" suddenly developing feelings for some guy.
That would mean it would be too late for her.
Narrowing her eyes, Cho Chang began to plan her actions. At the very least, this Valentine's Day, she needed to make Marietta realize that her feelings for her were different from those for her pure-hearted best friend.
Hermione's movements while drying her hair were gentle, and Lin Yue was completely unaffected as she read her book. She could even quietly recite the text in her mind, to which Hermione could only smile helplessly. At least from last year's experience, Lin Yue's method of memorizing all the books word for word had many benefits.
By the time her hair was completely dry, it was already close to midnight. Cho Chang and Marietta had already pulled the bed curtains and gone to sleep after saying goodnight to the two younger students.
Lin Yue also got up, took the towel from Hermione's hands, and hung it up nearby. Then she looked at her and said mechanically, "It's almost midnight, I should go to sleep now. Goodnight, Hermione."
Hermione nodded, opened her arms, and gave Lin Yue a hug. "Goodnight, Lin Yue."
Lin Yue stiffly extended her hand and hugged Hermione back. Then, under Hermione's gaze, she lay down on the bed. After adjusting the blanket for Lin Yue, Hermione tightened her bed curtain, ensuring that no light would seep through, and then returned to her own bed.
Feeling cheerful, she pulled back the blanket and lay down. To be honest, just the thought of sleeping in the same room as Lin Yue made her incredibly happy. She turned over, facing the position of Hermione's bed outside the curtain, slowly closed her eyes, and in the next moment, she instantly fell into a deep sleep.
After a long period of subtle influence, Lin Yue's sleep finally improved. Although her reflexes during sleep were still the same as before—she would wake up at the slightest noise, even in deep sleep—at least she could now manage to sleep for six hours straight instead of waking up every hour.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
When she opened her eyes again, it was already six o'clock the next morning.
Silently pulling back the bed curtains, Lin Yue walked barefoot into the washroom to freshen up.
It was still too early; Hermione, Senior Cho Chang, and Senior Marietta were all still asleep, and she shouldn’t disturb anyone.
This was also Lin Yue's consistent practice; since she woke up early, she shouldn’t make noise that would affect others' sleep.
It was incorrect to disturb others like this, and it didn’t conform to the rules of etiquette.
After washing up, she sat down at her desk and began reviewing the day's class on Arithmancy.
This subject was easier for Lin Yue than any other.
The reason was simple: the course was entirely about calculations, and these calculations were very easy for her.
It was like being in her original world, where she was doing junior high problems in the sixth grade—so simple that she was confident she could take the final exam in arithmetic divination right now and score full marks.
After reviewing the Arithmancy for today’s class, Lin Yue put her book into her backpack, along with the transfiguration textbook she would also need.
Then she stood up, changed her clothes, put on her shoes and socks, and walked out of the common room.
The early morning Hogwarts was nearly empty; the 9 AM class time allowed the young wizards to enjoy a nice sleep-in.
Everyone was at a growth stage, and sufficient sleep was essential.
Perhaps considering this, even though Hogwarts was established during the tumultuous medieval times of conflict between wizards and Muggles.
The four founders also established a rule that classes would start at nine o'clock. Even if time is tight, they don't lack a few hours; they want the children to grow, but they don't want to force their growth. There's no need to cut into the children's rest time or even their sleep time for the sake of learning. They are not in such a desperate situation that a group of children needs to study desperately to save their future.
When they arrived at the great hall, Lin Yue sat at the long table, took out a book on Arithmancy, and continued to focus on reading, while repeatedly reciting the content she had already memorized perfectly. It wasn't until after eight o'clock, an hour later, that more students slowly began to enter the great hall.
Lin Yue finished her last bite of bread, wiped her hands with a napkin, and then picked up her textbook on Arithmancy to continue reading.
Hermione, along with her senior classmates Cho Chang and Marietta, walked in together. Lin Yue went to sit at the Gryffindor long table, while the two seniors took seats on either side of her.
"Lin Yue, is your next class Arithmancy?" Cho Chang asked after taking a big sip of water to relieve her dry mouth.
"Yes, Senior Cho Chang," Lin Yue replied. Hearing her full name, she snapped out of her studying state and nodded seriously.
"Oh, I see," Cho Chang nodded in understanding.
"Your second class this afternoon is Transfiguration, right?" Marietta raised an eyebrow and looked at Lin Yue with interest.
"Yes, Senior Marietta."
"Oh my," Marietta affectionately reached out to ruffle Lin Yue's neatly combed hair, "Your schedule overlaps a lot with Hermione's!"
Lin Yue blinked stiffly and said without hesitation, "Yes, Hermione and I chose exactly the same elective courses, so we have many classes together."
"Plus, with the other required courses scheduled together, we have even more classes together."
"That explanation is very clear." Marietta pressed her lips together, tidied Lin Yue's hair on top of her head, and then lowered her head to eat her breakfast.
She really wished Lin Yue hadn't explained so clearly, because that might mean Lin Yue's emotions had completely recovered.
No longer so rigid.
Waiting until it was time to go to class, Lin Yue put away her Arithmancy book, stood up with her backpack, and headed out.
On the other side, Hermione, who was having breakfast at the Gryffindor long table, immediately swallowed the last bite of her bread with pumpkin juice when she saw this.
Then she threw her backpack over her shoulder and walked towards the hall door just like Lin Yue.
Halfway there, she turned around to remind Harry and Ron, "Pay attention in class."
After saying that, she quickly walked away without looking back.
This left the two boys, one chewing on a sausage and the other on a fried egg, looking at each other in confusion.
"I thought... now that Hermione is living in Ravenclaw, she'd be completely focused on Lin Yue and wouldn't have time for us," Ron said, taking a bite of his sausage.
"Clearly not," Harry said, finishing an entire fried egg in one bite, his cheeks puffed out. "Let's just focus on class."
After swallowing the fried egg, the two boys finished their breakfast, grabbed their backpacks, and set off.
Meanwhile, Lin Yue led Hermione up several flights of spiral stairs, heading straight for the classroom where Arithmancy was held.
They didn't miss a turn this time, and not once did they go the wrong way on the spiral stairs.
The journey was so smooth that even Hermione, following Lin Yue, found it a bit unbelievable.
Is this how Hogwarts is?
Are the spiral stairs this obedient?
Not to mention, Hogwarts is so big; has Lin Yue memorized the entire layout of Hogwarts?
Hermione thought about it and asked the question.
Lin Yue nodded after hearing the question, "I have already memorized the overall layout of Hogwarts in my mind, and I can recall it at any time when needed."
Back in the first week of her first year, Lin Yue had already started memorizing the overall structure of Hogwarts while looking for classrooms during class time.
At that time, she created a large-scale model of Hogwarts in her mind, and now the paths of her and Hermione's movements would be intuitively projected onto the model in her brain.
This ensured that they not only didn't take the wrong path but also took the shortest and most direct route.
"That's impressive," Hermione exclaimed, and she also thought about the possibility of reaching that level herself.
But after considering just how large Hogwarts Castle actually was, she decided not to push herself too hard.
She just needed to remember the routes for her classes.
After bringing Hermione to the Arithmancy classroom, Lin Yue sat down and continued reading her book.
Hermione also took out her book and began to review the key points and difficulties she had marked during her last reading. It wasn't until the professor walked into the classroom and announced the start of the lesson that Lin Yue and Hermione closed their books and focused on listening to the professor's lecture.
During this class, Lin Yue continued to uphold her proud tradition, adding over ten points to Ravenclaw. In addition, Hermione was not to be outdone and snatched nearly ten points from Lin Yue's hands. The Ravenclaw eagles sitting around them exchanged glances, each seeing in the other's eyes the deep affection the two had for each other.
By the end of the entire Arithmancy class, the professor of Arithmancy was in high spirits. With two excellent students and promising talents in the class, he was, of course, very happy as a professor.
Hermione was also happy about the fact that she received a score that wasn't too far off from Lin Yue's in class. Of course, it was mostly because she was sitting next to Lin Yue in class, which made her feel joyful and satisfied.
However, this joy and satisfaction were shattered when they walked out of the Arithmancy class together and ran into Harry and Ron, who looked dejected.
Hermione frowned and stepped forward, looking at her two close friends with concern. "Harry, Ron, did you have a tough time in Divination class? Why do you look so down?"
As she spoke, her gaze scanned Harry and Ron, but she didn't notice anything unusual. Since Hermione had stopped, Lin Yue, who was standing with her arms crossed, also halted.
Harry sighed and gestured for Hermione to walk and talk. The four of them walked down the spiral staircase towards the Great Hall together.
Harry pressed his lips together and recounted what had just happened in Divination class. "In Divination class, we were learning about tea leaf reading, and I saw a big black dog in my cup."
"Professor Trelawney said that was a sign of death, and I have a bad feeling about it."
Ron nodded vigorously beside him. "It's really magical; one of my uncles passed away shortly after seeing a big black dog."
Hermione listened to their explanations, dumbfounded. "Is this what has you both down in the dumps?"
"Yeah, Hermione, it's quite ominous."
Harry sighed; he knew danger always sought him out, but it shouldn't come looking for him year after year.
"Merlin beard!" Hermione exclaimed.
"I thought you both should at least know how many people make predictions every day in this world, and how many of those predictions never come true."
"But this is a prediction made by a professor," Harry said weakly.
"So what?" Hermione waved her hand dismissively. "Just because a professor says it, does that mean it's true? I don't think so!"
"It's just some tea leaves, don't take it to heart, Harry. Your future isn't something that can be decided by a few tea leaves; a prophecy is just a possibility, not your future."
"What determines your future is your own choices."
"Wow..." Ron opened his mouth, looking at Hermione in surprise. "Hermione actually challenged a professor."
Hermione shot him a glance, "That's how it is, prophecies don't necessarily come true, right Lin Yue?"
She turned her head to ask for Lin Yue's opinion, who was sitting next to her.
Hearing her full name, Lin Yue stiffly lifted her head, stopping the mental review of the Transfiguration class she was going to attend in the afternoon.
She quickly began to analyse the conversation that had just taken place between Hermione, Harry, and Ron.
